This is the best review of this guitar I have seen yet. And that guitar can play a LOT more than metal.
*Even in a Mesa amp…. the bite is there. Love SG guitars. Sadly I sold my Standard but getting another but a Tribute next. 🇺🇸🎵🎙🎶 I didn’t know it came with a maple neck. Cool sound demo. The cleans were nice too.*
My standards are 1.689 nut and .88 1st and about 1.98 12th give or take on average. I doubt the nut width is. 1.7 the actual nut may be,but the actual nut and nut width aren’t the same thing. Depends on how its dressed. I only play round neck and usually only find them on full bat guard standards. To find a special with a round neck instead of slim taper is special, the story behind it is special, and it’s an sg special. I usually hate signature models, I like to make them my own you know, but this is one I need in my collection. For sure! I just hate where the strap button is. I notice on the production models they didn’t duplicate the holes where the stop tail was removed, its on the custom shop but not production.
The nut is at least 1.70 I own it. It is a BEEFY neck more like you'd find on an L7 not SG. But the Plek'd fretwork allows the action to be so low it trumps the thickness and width of this beast' neck. It is fast as F and I've owned SGs since the 70s (I'm 70 lol) and don't have shopping carts for hands, yet can rip on this Iommi. 🎸
I scooped one up!!! I fucking love it!!!🔥🔥🔥🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Smart move in all ways. Guitar rips and I think once the new ones sell out and the used market gets ahold them they will go up a bit -Jerald
@@GuitarChimp I just got a John Birch and have another John Birch monkey being built right now with JayDee monkey pickups in it. And I have a JayDee Old Boy on order due around May 2022.😁🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
@@GuitarChimp How many are they making?
I can't believe you had the guts to put the sticker on the guitar. I haven't worked up that courage yet. More power to you!
I just picked up that guitar yesterday. I know even a new Gibson out of the box is not going to be flawless. Mine had a very small surface scratch where the jack plugs in.
I ordered it from the warehouse so it was brand new in the box.
I'm sure even if I reordered one they all have some type of small flaw.
Unfortunately, that's just an accepted consequence with Gibson guitars--even brand new ones just out of the box.
It just seems like when you're spending that kind of money they wouldn't allow that stuff to happen. They go through all that effort to make a beautiful guitar and then they scratch them before you even have a chance to play it.
I know, let it go.
🙏👍🙏
I'd never put that sticker on it. It's facing the wrong way.
The sticker is made backwards. That should be on a left hand guitar. I hope when mine gets here in a few days it comes with the one for a right hand
People seem to really love the strap button on the corner instead of it being placed on the back.
Nice stack of Marshalls by the way.
The signature is real but they covered it in wood gloss
Nice jamming on that dirty Channel brah.
It is faulty, it is righthanded. :)
