SG’s sound great clean whether single coil or humbucker.

I have one of these, I own many guitars and it instantly became one of my favorites…plays effortlessly and sounds pretty spectacular! For those who dislike big necks on SG’s, this guitar isn’t for you, it’s big! But if you like big necks on SG’s, this is really the only way to get that without paying custom shop money.

I love your playing style. I'm 63 and I've only been playing for about 11 months. I taught myself all five Pentatonic and all seven Diatonic shapes.
But I push myself to expand, contract, and blend them to a number of different Jam tracks. I'm trying to practice each day using a metronome so I can build consistency and speed.
I hope to be playing half as good as you someday.

thats the way Im a teacher..learn the neck...CAGED system..no the major minor and 7 triads all over the neck and u are pretty much at pro level...no need to learn modes...just learn whats useful to you and your style

If you examine the pickups, you'll notice the sticker underneath that says Tony Iommi P90 pickup

Jim, I haven't watched your video for a while. I did pick up one of these guitars last year.
You're opening solo is a fantastic demonstration of what this guitar can do.
I'm 64 and I've only been playing for 2 years. Your solos are so tastefully done. I hope to solo that well someday.

Jim, I love the sound of your purple love pedal BUT I don’t like the hum. Is there a quieter Non -vintage pedal you would recommend?

I just picked up this guitar yesterday. The guitar store ordered it from the warehouse and it had never been displayed.
When they opened it we found a small surface scratch right where the Jack plugs in.
I guess most of us have come to expect this kind of quality from Gibson.
In fact, it's so commonplace with Gibson, it's just an expected or accepted condition.
What I hate about the company is their customer service is appalling. They could care less about the quality of guitars they send out and they are not apologetic (in any way shape or form).
It seems like for that much money, they should be more careful with the guitars BEFORE they leave the warehouse.
I purchased a new $900 Gretsc that I plan to use exclusively for open mic.
That guitar is absolutely flawless. Gibson could learn something from Gretsch for sure.

I play through a 71 Fender Twin and a Fender Mustang GT200. Sounds great.

Nobody ever reviews these correctly. I can't wait for the Megadeth Signature guitar they review by playing Beatles songs. Thumbs down, play Metal, not Great-Grandpa music! Nothing against your playing, but the guitar is not made for that!

Way too overpriced for what it is!

I do have to agree a little on the price. The regular SGs are more reasonable and I prefer the black P90 covers of those to the chrome ones.

I initially thought the same thing, but I bought one anyway…lo and behold, it’s one of the best sounding guitars I’ve ever played.

Hard to tell how it really sounds unless you can play one which I haven't, because every demo I can find is people playing clean, playing paranoid, playing blues/rock licks. Instead of what I would buy this guitar for which would be some of the monsterous tones iommi had in the 80s on born again and stuff. He even mentions volume 4 in the beginning then just plays random licks and paranoid OF COURSE.

Well, you're paying an extra $500 to have his name silk screened on the back.
