  • Correct technique is a competitive advantage in rowing. Listen to any of our coaches and they’ll all say the same thing: good form is free speed. With asensei, our goal is not to have you just throttle out a workout - we want you to get faster by constantly improving technique and deliberately practicing good form. This is the secret sauce to hitting PRs and making gains. This week, Eric Murray demonstrates how to find length in your rowing stroke through relaxation. Watch for yourself in the video below.

    Meet asensei:
Introducing a new connected coaching app that lets world class coaches guide and monitor your practice on a Concept 2 rowing machine.
More than a workout, this is a series of lessons - build strength and fitness alongside skill and technique as you are guided, monitored and corrected through these programs by your very own personal coach, asensei.
asensei talks to the performance monitors on your Concept 2 rowing machine. She reads force curves. She analyzes your performance and uses that to inform your practice. To inform the intent of your practice. Losing power at higher stroke rates? Losing length when tired? Rushing the recovery? Compensating for poor leg drive with over-use of your arms?
asensei knows. And she’ll be sure to let you know.
    Practice. Perfected.

Going to work on this when the gyms open up again. Still enjoy watching even without the rower being available.

Little did we realise back then how LONG we'd have to wait before getting access to gyms etc :-( Fortunately, home rowing has kept many of us sane :-)
