More than a workout, this is a series of lessons - build strength and fitness alongside skill and technique as you are guided, monitored and corrected through these programs by your very own personal coach, asensei.
asensei talks to the performance monitors on your Concept 2 rowing machine. She reads force curves. She analyzes your performance and uses that to inform your practice. To inform the intent of your practice. Losing power at higher stroke rates? Losing length when tired? Rushing the recovery? Compensating for poor leg drive with over-use of your arms?
asensei knows. And she’ll be sure to let you know.
    Practice. Perfected.

How about an articulating footplate? E.g. with a center axle that would turn the foot plate to e.g., 20 degrees, when the knees are bent, and to e.g., 70 degrees when the legs are fully extended? Or a plate that goes down and flat when you fully bend the knees, and up and straight when the leg is fully extended?

Hi i am 60 year old woman and 5”4” 150 lbs. I have a 7.5 shoe size. i have tired foot hole 1, 2 and 3. I thought 3 ( lower ) would be better. But when I try successive 500 M rows at each foot placement I find optimum power at 1 But I also find some left knee pain after rowing at 1. I had though I would get knee pain with lower placement due to over extension . Does knee pain at a higher foot setting make sense or is this maybe just related to something else. I am not sure if I should row at 1 or 2 . I need all the power i can get ! But dont want injury. I row ar least 5K m daily. Would appreciate your thoughts. Thanks
