    The drives are always awesome. Love the enthusiasm !
    Axial took crawling out of the full size world and into the RC crawling world, which is a mile marker for RC!
    Traxxas is building some damn good dependable trucks out of the box . Great video !

    It 'was' a very limited MB production a decade back. Now worth a million or more in large part for its rarity. The Traxxas ones are the only ones being seriously 'off-roaded'. I recommend skid-plates for the pumpkins. You'll need to buy '2' complete sets because of the third axle. Without you'll be periodically replacing '3' axle housings if driven regularly in the rocks.

      Rocky spots are my favorite stomping Ground’s and I just got the TRX6 so thank you for the advice. I did not want to get portal axles and then give up clearance just to put guards on, but preventing axle replacements (3X!) with pumpkin guards is good.

    @sorenzx1923 Před 4 lety +4

    I did brass C mounts as well as inner and outer portal housings on the front axle of my TRX6. I found that it was almost too light in the front end to get its nose back to the ground with any traction. It also really helped with its tendancy to roll over.

    I finally have my very own traxxas trx6 amg g63❤😊
    -just bought all I could think of to try and make it a all around better trail/rock crawler with a custom long travel cantilever suspension, 2.2 wheels/tires, brass, sliders, bumpers etc..I can see from your video everything I have coming is definitely going to help.😅

    I think the lack of capability came from custom made scx10 6x6.. Axial have definitely made a better job of the scx10ii umg6x6... but without doubt Traxxas have knocked it out of the park with the Trx6. For sure the king of 6x6 rtr and it looks good doing it... I think unfortunately you need to lose the exhaust systems and modify sliders, seem to always catch you up.
    Cool video. Cheers mate 👍

    @Exocaged RC. I got a video idea for ya. It's totally not for selfish inquiry. Here's the video title: 'My top 10 Scale crawler bodies'. Based on performance. A quick google search reveals it would seem as though no one's done this.

    It does seem very capable, I have seen footage of the 1-1 and yes it was very capable and has the same limtations as the 1-1, but does seem more capable TRAXXAS has done a good job with this, it would be interesting to do different tyre testing but with six to change maybe not plus wheel offset look's different to the other TRX4's, Would like to see it up against the 4x4 G500 TRAXXAS also brought out.

    Putting the battery in the front is all the brass you´ll ever need…
    I am using a GensACE Adventure 4300mAh 3S HV LiPO on the front and it fits like a glove on both the TRX4 and TRX6, Its a Shorty style 3S Pack.

  • @theranter
    @theranter Před 2 lety

    Hey! No! Do not run the second axle with a tight spring compared to the rear axle… you’re messing with the way the rear axles work… you want good articulation on both rear axles, but you want the second axle to have just a bit more articulation than the rear, because that’s the axle you need the most traction on in regards to the rear two axles… if you can’t get that axle over the obstacle, the rear axle doesn’t matter. Yeah, you won’t have as tight of a turning radius, but you’ll be able to roll up or over just about anything, so, just drive over whatever is trying to make you turn tight, lol 😂

    • @JoeOvercoat
      @JoeOvercoat Před 4 lety +1

      Check out the humvee for a great example: the axle drives a ring gear on the wheels. Here I think the axle drives a transfer case at each wheel. The ‘portal’ is the archway created by raising the traditional diff. Portal axles can be combined with a worm gear drive on the main drive shaft to great effect.
