Grinding Gears On Our New Custom Traxxas TRX-6 Man-Unimogish RC Crawler - Holmes Hobbies

  • Every now and then, John likes to scoop up a project build from a fellow RC enthusiast to be placed in his custom RC crawler collection. This time it was something a bit different. Instead of a 4x4, it was a 6x6! John found himself a custom Traxxas TRX-6 RC Rock Crawler. This off-road beast was fitted with a Bruder MAN body by the previous owner. It also has some aftermarket electronics and a really weird gear grinding noise from the transmission. John will give you a quick overview of his purchase and then take it out for a first drive on the rocks. It's going to be interesting! This isn't the last time you'll seee this RC beast on the channel!

    Yep my trx6 works nothing like that. Smooth as silk and plenty of punch. Made it a cabover flatbed and a custom gooseneck trailer. Load the trailer with my negative-g trx4 conversion, my sons mostly stock trx4 and a couple of scx 24's. Trx6 tows the whole setup over most normal trail terrain. Super cool if you're into the scale stuff at all.

    Mamba X is definitely smoother Compared to Axe. However AXE has ground breaking drag break. I recently purchased a Vanquish VS4-10 pro kit and decided to go Mamba X route. Do you think the Puller pro 2700kv will be comparable to any Axe system in terms of drag break?

    • @HolmesHobbies

    • @ConditionZero76
      @ConditionZero76 Před 3 lety +3

      ShivOm SinGh, Mamba X is Good I have several, it doesn't compare to the slow speed crawl of the XERUN FOC R2 & anyone saying it does is nothing more than a Fan boy. I have several esc's from several companies spend 2 minutes running an Axe R2 & a blind man can see & feel the difference. doesn't mean Mamba X's aren't good there just a multi purpose esc not built straight for crawling such as the Xerun plus there obnoxiously noisy, there's nothing wrong with giving other companies (Hobbywing) props when they do it right!! I can't praise Holmes products enough I own many of his combos etc as well but let's be honest when talking about the XERUN as well........ I might upload a video to show the real world difference between Hobbywing R2 & anything else compared to it. it's kinda like cheating its so slow & smooth, makes it borderline not fair to even use in competition...

    • @ShivamSingh-ud5ik
      @ShivamSingh-ud5ik Před 3 lety

      @@OswaldBeef I don't think so as the 540 axe Motor also does amazing when it comes to drag break. Axe has quite weird technology fir breaking, Try rotating the shaft of the motor, when it stops it will not only stop but also try to go a bit in the opposite direction. That I think is responsible for better drag break. Because the actual rotor and magnets are much more superior in the holmes puller motors while comparing the 540 Axe motor and definitely alot better then stock castle slate motors.

    @holmeshobbies - others may not notice this but there's quite a bit of compression blocking in the video. CZcams destroys the picture quality to save server space. But If you can render and upload the video at 1440p instead of 1080p, the picture will be MUCH clearer. This is especially noticeable in parts of the video with a lot of motion. It won't be so noticeable in parts of video with little to no motion.
