If you want better donuts... swap to different radio and setup up the diff locks on different channels. Then you can lock just the rears. Well, at least that is how it is on my Bronco. Great fun in the snow!
TrailCrawler 203 yeah it will soon get a new radio, a hacked gt3c with 8ch but the truck itself will also undergo a major change in the process. Should be interesting.
LOL just 1 other quick tip: TURBO TIMING set @ 10 degrees is “nothing” as stated by Hobbywing support. I’ve emailed them several times regarding that. I’m also not really noticing more heat than at 0. I’m also running telemetry to monitor this. Again, just FYI & thank you for all of your videos!

I got to finally drive the axe system yesterday when I took my Capra out for 1st time.. really impressed with how smooth it was and how awesome the drag brag performs. Was worried about the lack of feel some people have complained about but had faith in how much you had praised the system, No worries mate it was the bees knees!
Capra was sweet too. Except my son hi-jacked it. Lol..!

Mick D, yep the AXE 3300 in my TRX-6 is crazy smooth. AXE makes descents fun instead of “just dealing with.”
I first tried a $115 Holmes CrawlMaster Pro 550 10t in it. That had a slower startup with 9t pinion & awesome drag brake. But the AXE system makes it look primitive and less capable. AXE also doubled the “sweet spot” for this truck.

FYI: I changed out the shock oil to Associated 15w. It made a big difference, but I think 10w would be PERFECT. Maybe this will save you some time. 👍
I notice a ‘substantial’ upgrade when mounting the battery up front. I’ve got a Fantom Octane Pro 3s up there and it helps the front bite. 👍

Actually I was ready to run it this past sunday but just never got around to it. Its still the same as it was the last time I had it out.
Im super pumped i just got a trx6 with the HW axe 2700kv and a protek 370tbl I haven't even taken the truck out of the box yet going to be a beast got the white one to be a little different

Regrets.. I got a few, but the TRX-6 isn't one of them. Didn't plan to be a Traxxas Fan Boy, but the garage is starting to say otherwise.

Could the esc fan or a motor fan be connected to the smal box for the lights it does have room for more than one plug but is the voltage ok

lol just got my axe system in my trx6 today found out I should of tightened my slipper clutch. it was going and I was like why is it not fast then it kept loosing more power till the center of the gear melted out lol. then the dreaded hike of shame carrying the thing back to the car

@@ExocagedRC put a new slipper assembly in. holy crap is it fun to do wheelies with a 6x6 but within 4 hours of running it in a creek I got it bound up in some rocks and smoked the clutch. gotta turn that power back down lol. probably did not help right before it went it floated underwater lost signal on me and got stuck under 3ft of water while i found a stick to get it out

You should try the 550 axe in the Capra. It would be beastly!!!
Cody Fernandez it won’t fit. The axe 550 is about 6mm longer than a normal 550 size motor and I had to trim a lot just to get the Crawlmaster Pro 550 in there.
Some thing you can do to it to help it crawl even better is get rid of the side exhaust that’s what I did to mine and it now it crawls even better than it did stock
Hi Exo. Love your videos & narration bro. Now that you have tested and tried both the 2700KV & 3300KV, which would you go for? did you ever find the toque in the 3300kv lacking for any crawling scenarios?
Hmm, I like the 3300kv and its has just as much power as the 2700 does.
Have you had any issues with the ESC getting hot? I noticed you aren’t using the fan.
It’s been warm a few times when holding full throttle for extended periods but nothing close to hitting thermal or causing it to fail.
It is an awesome rig, and with the AXE in there it just rocks! Still needs a better looking body though! (not a fan of the g-wagon)

OK bro give me your opinion should I get the 2700 for the 3300 have a TRX sport with the tracks on it obviously won’t be running those all the time but I would like to have a little more speed so that I don’t have to be at 3/4 to full throttle just to get walking speed out of it most of the time will run it with tires obviously I would probably start out with the stock pinion that the hobby wing comes with but which one would allow me the most gearing options obviously with the tracks on it’s pretty heavy give me your opinion which one would you get for running tracks and tires in the most gearing options I don’t need a speed demonWith the tires on but definitely would like to have some more speed with the tracks
3300kv all the way. You’ll love the speed and it still crawls great

So Joe ... couple questions! I've got a Traxxas 440 steering servo, am I going to need a BEC to run 3S with the AXE 2700 system? 2nd... With the stock radio, did you need to rebind it?
John Underhill I haven’t tried that servo on the Axe but I’m pretty sure it would be ok, the new Axe is rated to 4S. Now if you want to volt that servo up past 6v then you’ll need a bec and a bypass around the receiver. Stock shift and diff servos are not good past 6v. I didn’t have to rebind anything. Just a simple esc calibration got it working

Oh-yeah!...6x6's are very capable.
Throw some soft 2-stage foams in there and trim the body....we both know it'd be a world of difference. I have plenty of 2.2 Mudslingers...that's going on mine when I get it. I know there are better tires but it'll look beastly. Oh...I have some old-school Panthers from my comp days too and Rock-Beast, XOR's and a few others. I'm still contemplating the body I'll use. Not sure on that yet.
I'm sorry I just can't get behind the Traxxas. The more time goes on the more Redcat wins me over. Love that Gen 8 V2. Imagine if other companies teamed up like Hobby Wing, Reefs, and Redcat.
Mister Robato I like my traxxas trucks and Axial and Redcat and Tekno and and and.. LoL. I’m hoping to see a nice response from Traxxas to the Gen8 Axe.
@@ExocagedRC Me too but I think Traxxas may be too stuck up for that unless they team with Castle. I would love to see Axial, Holmes Hobby, and Savox team up on a Capra. Either way Redcat knocked it out of the park.
Mister Robato yeah Traxxas used to get their stuff from Castle so maybe they still have an in with them. Who knows.
I'm having a problem with the drag brake even when setting it 60 percent for some reason it locks going down hill causing it to flip

@@ramirovalencia6317 ok, bud I have the fix for you, go into the settings and you can adjust it so it will roll, I have a video using the gen8 axe that shows you the settings and how they affect the truck.
Watching the trx6 makes me wonder if it is just the length of the vehicle or the 3rd axle that make it so capable? How well do you think it would perform without the middle Axle and tires? I almost think it would be very similar. However I could be totally wrong too. Great video like always.
BLIND J the dual rear axles really help this truck out. The added length really hurts it on a competition course. Without the middle axle it would just be a really long wheelbase truck that would get high centered way too easy.
@@ExocagedRC yeah I can definitely see it having a hard time on a competition course with the tight turns or needing to put your truck on a specific line. I was just thinking the long-wheelbase probably helps it out quite a bit on some climbs and descents. Just like any RC there is a give and take. Where the long-wheelbase may help it out in some situations but hurt it in others.
Remember: It's a traxxas, if you try to use it as any other normal rc car soon you will have a bunch of tiny pieces in a box heading to the trashcan.
If Traxxas sell the 6x6 chassis only ,they have the "licence"to print money ha ha!
I hope you are done quickly with te trailer trash version of the TRX-4. God, that thing is ugly, pointless and over expensive. Please hurry up with the reef’s and hobbywing stuff...put it in there, drive it 4-5 times very quickly and move on. Could be done in 5-6 days.... See you in a week buddy
