INCREDIBLE EFFORT. Dude you absolutely destroyed that course. 25 hours!!!!! Man I hope someday I can turn in a race like that. Well done, congratulations, and sign up for another one soon so we can watch it!
Thanks Dan!
100 miles in 25 hours...holy crap that blows my mind! You're inspiring. Thanks for sharing your journey.
Thanks!
Congratulations! My current maximum is 16 miles. I can't imagine what it's like or what's needed to do 100.
the Vermont 100 is the only 100 miler i did in my life, and your video brought back wonderful memories of 1992, when i ran it. There are still the beautiful wide country lanes, the rolling hills, the beautiful houses, the horses, the yellow plates with the arrows and the glow sticks in the night....man that was so great, so hard and so rewarding. To this day it is the best best performance i ever as able to do ...thank you for sharing the race with us and bringing back all those wonderful memories....back then i thought this run would be the start of a long 100 mile running career, but life had other plans with me, and i am grateful for every run i could do and for every run i still can do
100 miles solo? That boggles my mind to run that far without pacers and a support team. You are a monster! Well done and thanks for sharing this adventure.
It surprisingly wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. But I did make LOTS of friends on the trail and shared lots of miles with people. It only got a little weird later in the race when it was dark and I was alone. Fortunately, talking to a GoPro is the next best thing to a human lol.
What a journey! You're a beast Dave - so impressed you even thought to hold the camera by the end.
Thanks!
Dave, you do an incredible job editing a video for a 100 miler. The pace of the video is relaxed, but not too slow. I have my first 100 coming up in Oct, and my only goal is to finish. Congrats on your race!
Thanks! Good luck at your 100!
Watching this made me feel like I was with you all the way., through every mile.
Tremendous effort Dave, you can be very proud of yourself 👍
Thank you!
Congrats! Great achievement! Looks like the night was definitely the hardest.
You know what needs to come next right? A video mentioning every single piece of gear you had with you on that race :-)
Nice talking to you at the start line! That was an amazing race and they really make it easy for solo runners with all the aid stations! The funny thing is they lost my dropbag at the Stage Road aid station and I found it a Margaritaville lol! Good work grinding out there!
Nice work Wayne! You crushed it! Great to chat for a minute before you left me in the dust! 😂
Congratulations!! This was the best VT 100 video I've ever seen! I'm GLAD you got caught up and enjoyed the moment, it's well deserved. A studio recap is just fine! The shot and music at 6:27 was the best! I was so excited to see the horses were still running simultaneously! It's one of very few races in the world that still do! My bucket goal is to run the race AND ride the race in back to back years once my horse is old enough.
From Bills (88) to Polly’s (94.5) was the hardest stretch for me. Was stumbling around and those miles felt like forever. Came in exactly an hour behind you. Killer Vlog, thanks for the miles!
-Not Walmsley haha
Dude! You were moving so well sorry to hear you had a rough patch but congrats on your finish! It was great to share some miles with you.
Great video. Was there crewing this year and had a blast. Ran it in 2018 and running is way harder than running. lol
Beast mode 🙇🏻♂️🙌🏽. Dave, I really can’t imagine finishing a 100, so I sit here applauding you’re amazing accomplishment.
Thank you!
Such a great Video. You held it together so well! Congratulations! Thanks for bringing us along!
Thanks so much!
Congratulations, and thank you for sharing your day and the beautiful course!
Dude! What an epic journey. I was cheering for you as you got closer to the finish!!!
Fantastic documenting of the race, great time as well! Looks like a super well organized and staffed race too. If I can ever get up to 100 that one will be high on my list
Great recap. I ran solo this year too! I think the hardest part was some of the exposed climbs in the sun and that the course is relentless no big climbs but lots of little ones... Best part definitely the volunteers. Great run man!
Congrats on your finish!
What a fantastic event! And I loved the tasty food. So proud of you Dave and love your channel- you killed it!
Thank you!
What a fantastic effort mate! Especially with the training too. Enjoyed this one and definitely inspired to try get my first buckle next year! All the best 🌟
Congratulations! Such a strong effort!
Good job 👍 tough race!!
Congrats! Your video brought back memories from when I ran in 2016. Thank You! What triggered a memory was running until day light and the finish is in the darken woods. Sent chills up my spine. Then the congratulations from the RD.
I've been waiting for this! Congrats Dave! You are very inspirational!
Thank you!
Congratulations on the finish. It was my first Vermont 100 and so much fun. Bummed I didn’t get to meet you.
Awesome, man! Really enjoy your content, as it is giving me much, much motivation to go that extra mile (or a few few...)
Thanks!
I'm a 5 time finisher at VT100 with my 5th finish being in 2019 on a day the temps were in the mid to upper 90s. For the record, I was DFL in 2019 but in spite of that, I beat 52% of the field as only 48 % finished that year. Congrats on your 2022 finish. You outdid my best effort at VT which was in 2011 (27 hours) I was there as a volunteer in 2022 after getting hip replacement surgery in May of 2022. Now at age 66, I have serious doubts about ever doing a hundred again. But finishing a hundred any of the 5x was still one of the most memorable experiences of my life. It's an unimaginably long distance to run/walk/travel in 30 hours. You did it. Congratulations.
Thanks for sharing! 5 time is no joke! I was also there in 2019 and unfortunately DNF'd at lillians at Mile 43? I think... It was SO hot that year and it took me weeks to recover from it. Brutal!
Amazing achievement Dave! Well Done ✨🌟🔥
That was fun to watch! You almost make me want to head to Vermont next year! :)
Great job and great video!
Congratulations, amazing!! Looked like so much fun, and a lot of volunteers!!!
Yes! Thank you! The volunteers are amazing!
Congrats Dave, well earned! All the effort that has gone into previous runs has led you to this moment. You motivate the community and keep us all moving forward, one step at a time 👍
Thanks so much! I hope these videos help motivate someone!
Amazing Race Dave! I always love the human element you bring to all of your videos but particularly your races. Your videos are informative and inspiring! Keep chasing the summit!!!
Thank you!
Just incredible - I really like these real time vlogs of running, etc. Just gives a boost as I view them. Awesome content 🤠
Glad you like them!
Totally amazing, a huge congratulations!
Amazing! Congrats for that race. This definitely inspires me to do trail running. I learned so much from your videos, so lots of thanks! And I always like your take on the items you review, it's always clever and to the point.
Thanks!
keep pushing, keep pushing!!
Very nice race, landscapes and video editing. Good job man!
Thanks!
You are amazing Dave...So inspiring...Well done!!!👏👏👏 Thanks for sharing! 😊
Thank you! 🙏
Congrats, Dave. Fantastic ultratrail and video!!!
Thanks!
This was great Dave! Thanks so much for putting all that work into documenting it. You really gave us the full race experience. Working the Camp 10 Bear station a few years back was such a memorable event for me, and experiences like yours really make me want to run it myself! Great job!!
Thanks for volunteering! The volunteers are seriously the hero’s at this race!
Congratulations and respect! What beautiful countryside. The difference between your 50 & 59 mile clips were visible on your face. Well done!
Haha yeah my face is pretty telling. My wife always says I look like a skeleton when I finish an ultra. Thank you!
Great race recap and hugely inspirational as I am, this spring, doing my first ultra (60k) age 52 and Im so excited! Congrats with your 100mile race!
Awesome job Man. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you!
Great video and well done on the VT100! And awesome that you did it solo. Gotta feel good to get that done. 👍🏼

Thanks for watching!
Fantastic! What a great video and so inspirational!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Legend… thank you for sharing
Congratulations!! You did a great job filming and eating!!
Congrats Dave! Amazing level of perseverance. Seems like you did a great job of pacing and listening to your body on how to fuel up and stay hydrated. Definitely inspiring me to run my first 100 someday, the Burning River 100 in my hometown :)
Thanks! Yes! Sign up! That's the first step 😉
This video was fantastic! It was great to hear that you completed the race. What a moment and such an impressive achievement!
Thanks!
Thanks for sharing ❤
Great job out there, and nice work with the video documenting the experience. I also ran VT100 this year … #3 for me. I had a great crew and met some awesome people. All the volunteers were amazing as usual! Congrats on your solo finish!
Congrats on your finish!
Congrats from Austria ! 🙌
Amazing job 👍 and very inspiring!
Thanks so much!

It certainly did! Thank you!

You should!
OMG 🔥🔥🔥 huge respect & thank you for great content 😊
Congrats!! Awesome video to capture this race and your experience. I definitely feel a kinship with how you described your training and expectations going into it. I’m attempting my 2nd 100 in 8 days and hope I can pull off what you did. Again, awesome work on both the race and your video!
Good luck! Walk the hills and eat all the foods!
Fantastic job, man!
Great video and congrats for finishing this thing😀
Thanks!
That was Awesome!!! YOU are an inspiration, Congratulations!!! And thanks to your wife for driving you home, glad that part of the journey wasn’t solo.

Thanks for watching!
Congrats! And thanks for the video, I enjoyed watching it
Thanks! Glad you enjoeyd it!
Congratulations 🎉
That ending of the race, it made me a bit emotional. I felt that moment without you recording it. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks! Glad the feeling was conveyed through the video... It was quite a thing.
Was trying to follow the livetracking the while you were running and was super excited to see the confirmation you had made it to the end! Great job man!!!
Thank you! The live tracking was a bit of a mess lol. First year they attempted it. My wife was growing frustrated when she couldn't figure out where I was!
@@ChaseTheSummit Haha yeah I think they need a *slightly* better implementation for the future because it did seem a bit delayed and finicky to work it out. Either way though great job and super motivational to see your Vermont 100 videos and podcasts and follow along on this journey. Gives me motivation to get out there and chase my own goals!
Smart race, great inside! 👏🏼👏🏼
You’re awesome Dave! Great job!!!
Thank you kindly!
Wow, what a views! So cool! Great vid. Congrats, Dave!
Thank you!
Congrats! Amazing accomplishment and great time. Hope to get a 100 mile buckle one day myself. Well done! 👏
Thanks Jeff! Sign up for one!
Congratulations! Awesome watching you during your run. Very inspiring and motivating! Thank you for recording your experience. Was there any strength training through your journey?
Thanks! I don't to much in terms of strength training other than some regular body weight workouts. The majority of my training is just to run... a lot lol.
Nicely done Dave!
Thank you!
Dude, solid work. Waking up crazy early and going and rocking the 100 like a boss.
Appreciate it!
Awesome work, and making a video about it during the race, no less! I hope for this to be my first 100 mile race!!
It’s a good one!
Congratulations, that was awesome.
Thank you!
Well done! Congrats, Dave!
Thank you!
That’s fantastic Dave. What a great result.
Thanks!
Woohoo! Wade-a-go! Good work documenting too. Music selection excellent also
Thanks!
Congratulations 🎉👍🏃🏻♂️❤️
I was really looking forward to this video.
Really good. Highly motivating.
Thank you!
Well done, great job!
Thank you! Cheers!
Congratulations on your finish
Thank you!
Huge congrats Dave!
Thanks!
I ran Vermont 100 this year too and it turns out you and I finished about 15 minutes apart. I watched your video from 2019 about two weeks before the race and it was really helpful. Thank you!
Congrats on your finish!
James Brown used to be the "hardest working man in show business" and he were alive he still would be but now Dave you are the "hardest working man in show business". Does anybody know how hard it is to film yourself while running, it's not easy. I think it would have knocked a couple hours off your time if you had just ran the race Dave. Thank you so much Dave for showing us this. You are inspiring.
Haha! Thanks! It’s certainly a challenge to remember to hit record. On the other hand it’s nice having a task to fixate on during the later miles.
Beast.
Well done!
Thank you!
Congrat!!!!
Thank you!
Bravo superbe performance, love all your vidéos
Awesome! Big contgrats!
Thanks so much!!
CONGRATS!!!!! 🙌💪💪 One day I'll give an ultra a try 😁
Congrats!! 👏 This video was really great too! 100 miles don't seem too bad from your experience. The arch spasms could be from the Altras (they gave me foot issues too)
I've run in Altras for years so I don't blame them. Pretty sure it's just the "normal" level of pain for being 80 miles in lol. Thanks for watching!
Congrats! Ran it solo too - but things went so wrong even before the start. Luckily, slow start + accelerating meant going back and forth with a group of 4 riders from miles 15 to 100! It was pretty cool to 'race against horses', and I'm still wondering how I managed despite feeling so crappy...
Nice work! Congrats on the finish!
Congrats man. 100 miles! Can't imagine. Road marathon is hard enough.
Road marathons are hard in their own right! Way too fast lol. Thanks for watching!
congratulations. great job
Thank you!
@@ChaseTheSummit absolutely. it is impressive
Cool solo cup. Great job.
Nice work!
Thank you!
Nice job!!
Thanks!
