Audi design is timeless. The fact they make each model look similar to the previous version helps that. I think this is a very good looking car, sensibly designed.
+Oliver Newell The new Prologue-inspired A6 and A8 will make this car look 5 years old. It is a leftover of Audi's old designer.
+Oliver Newell sorry to break it to you but good design should be given room to naturally evolve. copying 99.9% percent of your model is each time is either lazy or overlay cautious, your argument could be true for audi in the 90's wereby year on year you could appreciate the slight differences.

+Aamir Afzal The truth is - I do respect Carbuyer's reviews, but let's be honest - no negative points in this review. There is no car without negative points.
On rear seats headroom - C Class has 942mm, 3 Series has 957mm and Audi A4 has 953mm. It's not big difference, I would say. And C Class is the only one tested with sunroof, while others were tested without it. Now, that's a big difference, if you ask me.
I am watching this review in 2021 cause I am going to buy 2016 used A4 , who else is watching in 2021?

Well you shouldnt believe any car makers claims about fuel economy since it is near to imposible to get the same result in irl even with eco style driving.

Matt, great reviews and sense of humor. One thing I would like to see is using a set of golf clubs for the trunk tests as this would be more typical on a daily basis for an exec. car. Cheers!

Car trip computers always show more mpg than you are actually getting. Usually the difference between the actual fuel consumption and the one which the trip computer shows is between 10-20%.
i never understand why the press cars aren't fully loaded, surely the manufacturers want journalists to see the best it has to offer..
+Aron Bell This Audi wasn't fully loaded with extras, but on a lot of reviews of new BMW's they are very over loaded with options to the tune of £10,000 plus. I think they should test a basic spec cars.
+Aron Bell We test cars in a variety of specs and trim levels with different engines so that we can get the best idea of the whole range. We've tested the A4 in top-spec 3.0 TDI S line trim, but wasn't available for us to film so we have this model instead.
The leather option is very nice 👌🏼

+Bora Markovic It's a new chassis, new engines, and new interior with a lot of changes if you look closely enough. That's hardly a facelift....if anything, the "face" (i.e. the overall look of the car) is the only thing that has stayed the same!

It's pretty obvious what are the differences in old and new one. Sharper edges, new front and back lights, it's longer etc.
Matt reviews are the best. very informative and funny as well. I actually prefer the new VW strategy making cars bigger to suit us the Americans. we do indeed love large cars. I am 196cm and this car will accommodate me and my rear passenger. The older models were just too compact and less roomy..

It's remarkable how this new Audi comes along ... and virtually nothing is said about the interior. I think that's a nice illustration of the way Mercedes set the new benchmark of interior design and quality when they introduced the latest C Class, leaving Audi trailing for the first time in many years. In spite of some neat touches like the clear and crisp controls for the airconditioning, Audi didn't catch up with Merc at all. On the other hand: rear legroom does seem really impressive for a compact executive, and if the way other Audi VAG products have made huge progress in terms of ride, handling, performance and fuel eonomy recently (thanks to the group's very light new platforms) is anything to go by, the A4 promises to be an impressive performer in other areas, too.
Mercedes have a more luxury interior but you pay for that. Audi are more conservative and look far nicer externally than Mercedes.
It is really about taste and personal choice.
Why this car not have a sunroof? But previous year model has that.

Still haven't figured out the workings of the wide air vent. It's supposed to be opened or closed by touch sensitive centre console, but no difference. Thinking it's for show only?
Also, mine isn't equipped with deep storage box under headlight control, is it 'cos no gun storage needed in UK market? mmm
No additional storage in rear central arm rest :( on 6 gear manual.

Can someone answer on this question? Why new Audi A4 has halogen rear lights in the base model, but Passat (Europe), which is cheaper than A4 has LED rear lights in base model.

It looks quite a lot different from the previous model in my opinion. What do you expect them to do with the design? There isn't much that can be changed about it.
Do ALL Audi's have the capability for Audi Connect? Or at least Google maps? I have the 2016 Audi A4 Quattro B8.5.

Very nice, although I really don't like the new headlights, they are way too sharp. The original A4 LEDs were still the best in my opinion, the flow was much better. Other than that, it's a superb car.

Why have you guys chosen to review the A4 in budget spec?
I would always question real life average combined use mpg.. nearly every diesel Ive had averaged 50 to 55mpg and the Audi is heavier

The interior, particularly the air vents, mirror that of the new VW Passat. Then again that's hardly any big surprise. Apart from the badge and price, what is there to distinguish the new A4 from VW and Skoda variants? Very little I'd wager.
Can I say that if I want a more luxurious VW or a VW with a better trim I should buy an Audi?
I think they did a good job on this cars exterior design, can not say the same for the Q7 though
anybody noticed that in some audis a4 there is a circle around audi logo on the steering wheel , and on others there is something like trapeze?
My audi has the circle chrome around it, the "sport" and above trim levels have the circular centre part.
I've had the luck to seat inside an C-class but is nowhere near as sublime as this new A4, and about the exterior, if something works, don't change it. shame carbuyer didn't wait to get a more high tier model.

What??. My b8 was flawless, my cousins had b8.5 was perfect and now I'm on b9 and can't complain. The only b8 that had issues was the early 1.9 petrol (tfsi)
Good looking, although I would much rather have cloth seats than leather in any car.
MORE THAN 500 EUROS FOR FREAKING APPLE CARPLAY AND ANDROID AUTO. FOR JUST A BIT OF SOFTWARE! Honestly, Audi's options all cost so freaking much.

But to be honest, I think specifically that bit of software should be standard across all cars. But again it is pretty new thing in cars, so I kind of understand why they or any other brand wants to charge for it.

The 2015 3 series (f30) looks like a facelift 2005 3 series (e90).
The new Audi A4 is pretty much the same since 2008
The C class looks like a baby S class
(And I'd add that the interior of the 3 series is the same since 1999)

Out of all the luxury car makers, the Germans are the only one to not make leather standard. In 06 Audi 4 n 6, BMW 3 n 5 had vinyl or cloth as standard while Lexus IS n ES, jaguar x and s type and maser ghibli all have leather as standard. I think there was a new E class that didn't have standard leather seats.
I've noticed in a lot of your videos, you blame the manufacturer for the fuel consumption ratings not matching the real world figures. But all cars in the EU are tested on the NEDC, which is notorious for being very unrepresentative of real world driving. For example, the EPA in the US rates the Tesla Model S at 270 miles, and the same car in the EU is rated at 330 miles under the NEDC. So what you really should be blaming is the EU using the NEDC that all manufacturers are forced to use.

I recently bought a 2016 model, and I don't think it has android auto as stock, or atleast I have not found such thing from it.

@@akj2387 Yeah, I googled it and apparently Android Auto was never supported by Audi here. Only Apple Carplay was supported. So, I guess it depends on the country if they have it.
i didn't even know that you could get a new audi without leather, because at least here in america you cant get one without leather.

You deserve any attention from anyone considered a car enthusiast. By saying that you show how unconscious you are in the car world. If you think an Audi is a Golf, then live in your world.
