Matt you must be the only car dealer in the UK that go to the lengths you do to prepare a car. Credit to you. I bought an Audi A4 from a local dealer a month ago and driven it once not seen it since. It had no coolant in it after getting it home realising that the heaters didn't work and after filling it up it all disappears shortly after. You'd think they'd at least check the basics before the car leaving.

Put it up for 7k and accept offers they'll think they've got a bargain, anyway I'm the 64 year old who bought that lovely Saab 93 from you last November , I've put 4k trouble free miles on it since then , I say trouble free , 2 weeks ago someone took the front bumper off slightly and scuffed it up in my works car park , no note left , nobody owned up so was left to get it repaired myself, not a happy chappy , anyway looks as good as new now and it not full of werthers original wrappers either , still mint inside , very happy with it .
I genuinely dont think your local garage does you any real favours considering how much you spend with them. Always seems pricey to me. But you are right, its really not worth the work for that margin. You could have possibly traded it on for a few quid and saved the hassle. Great video as always Matt.
The problem with the water in the boot might be an issue Matt and of course there is those mats to give it aa lift when you open a door. Some you wins some you lose. Tha amount of work you put into these cars is remarkable and highly commendable.

Nice to see a garage like yourself take a car on and make it great for a customer despite a profit sacrifice. Things like this make driving more eco friendly, not necessarily electric cars. Keeping good cars on the road and getting more life out of cars that already exist is the way to go. Nice video as always
Being a b8 a4 owner i would say the damp boot will be the rear lights seal which has failed letting water in and luckily all your doors opened 😂 the door actuators are made of chocolate on these

I remember when the first A4’s came out in 1995 with a lovely 20v engine a really nice car to drive. My employer at the time put the lowly 1.6 A4 on the list! It was gutless, but it took the miles well, many going over 100k. Galvanised so the body lasted well. 🇩🇪
I had one of these for roughly 10 years and moved it on after it doing 180k miles, (1.8tfsi) and that had a timing chain. Was a pretty good car, so good I bought another one but a higher spec diesel quattro.
Yes the locks are another problem BUT you can repair them with no extra parts needed. The locking mechanism you need to strip down and clean the motor windings. The brushes put a coating on the little motors and a good clean up with wire wool sorts the problem.
@@ellissamsontech Well not the actual car depicted lol, but it was in black with the same exterior and interior. The handling felt like a BMW M5 of which I drove also for a month. The A6 however was a huge disappointment.
I just recently sold my 08 2.0tdi that's been a great car for 240k and it's still on the road. If properly looked after, those will just keep going and going. And in misano red was still a head turner despite it's age :)

Should put new tyres on the rear after 30 years in the tyre game new tyres should be fitted to the rear of the vehicle prevents oversteer with a front wheel drive Michelin have a video about new on the front vs new on the rear in the wet you wouldn’t believe the results 👍keep up the good work
As someone who had a few Audi's from this era I will say they are great cars, until the timingchains fail that is, then they are ready for the scrapper, so far every Audi I've had ended with stretched timingchains at around 230.000km. Never had the burning oil that they are known for but that is still a running car.
Matt I know plates and buffing are something of a thing for you😜 Original plates always a good idea as indicates it hasn't had a bump. How about replacing the rusty screws and adding the plates to your buffing rota?

I really like an SE spec, especially with a big engine-all go and no show. Makes a nice change to all the M Sport / S Line / AMG Line cars you see with food blenders under the bonnet.
Totally agree, I remember seeing very clean A4 Sport from this era with the 3.2l V6 Quattro for sale which really appealed to me (but not the VED cost)

Had one of these basic as a nappy A4’s in the avant version, ended up hating it in the end due to its corner cutting build. Sold it after putting 50k miles on it at 120k, but its last MOT showed 271k! Solid enough engine n tranny The algae around the boot takes only 6 months to get that bad on my cars, also the interior with 2 kids, one month max!
Prefered my Skoda Octavia Lauren & Klement to the Audi A4 when I was looking to change last yeaf and ended up with a 2013 Skoda Superb Which was better than anything else i looked at and the rom inside is fantastic

This is the 1.8 in the low tune of 118hp, if you were wondering! Audi offered it with 170hp, and a simple stage 1 remap unlocks 212hp. Well worth it, with little strain on the engine. They're quite good the 1.8's
All I'm thinking as you go round is 'new tyres' and 'Jimmy the magician'. Then you opened the doors.. Well spent rejuvenation Matt. £6899 price all day long .I know you just want rid and to claim back the VAT but this is a quality motor, you can punt😉,

Hi Matt well what a state that car was in plus water in boot. You could have done some of the touch up bits on bonnet that would have kept costs down but have you got the time anymore . Profit hope so

2011 is right in the middle of timing chain and pistol oil rings issues for TFSi petrol engines.

I have a 2012 facelifted A4, a really comfy and sporty sedan. Beige leather interior with bang & olufsen speakers, just great.

Water leak is possibly tail lights, happened to mine. Don't worry about oil consumption issues, if it's made it to 13 year old then it's fine.

Those updated engines run forever. You see them in Ireland with 300k+ miles
I've got two kids and my car is spotless inside and out. Having kids is no excuse for being lazy. Clean your car.

It's basically an AUDI anyway. We had an A6 and a Superb at work even most of the buttons were the same .
