This is a very nice non showy training session that certainly does use well timed pressure release, despite the comments, combined with positive reinforcement in the touch. It’s important I think that PR does not get negative association unnecessarily and that we recognise what the methods are without the need for judgement to better learn and understand what makes it work. Thank you.
Michael you are amazing! I always enjoy watching and learning from you! I am so sorry that the trainer that you spoke of didn’t have the grace to watch you work. He could have learned something new. Maybe send him this video. I wonder if this mare would object to the tie downs of polo riding. It would be fun to see you reschool her to be able to lower and extend her head while being ridden and to be able to use her back. Definitely not polo.
Once again...amazing. Such a friendly, and at the same time decisive way of making the horse understand. (The dope test story is hilarious 🤣).
Poor mare is in pain. No human would like to be a polo pony - it's horrific how they are ridden 😢
