- The Journey to Valhalla Modpack "provides a vanilla-like progression through the remaining unfinished biomes of Valheim (Mistlands, Deep North & the Ashlands), including new resources, enemies, weapons, armor, and bosses."
The Modpack creator (The Defside - YT link below) says "The goal of this Modpack is to simply complete the game without straying too far from vanilla. It is based off of monsternomicon, with weapons from Huntardy's Valheim Additions, and some new exclusive items and foods."
Specific features of the mod pack include:
- "The first 5 biomes are largely untouched. 1 or 2 enemies were added per biome, some friendly NPCs, some enemy NPCs, and some new weapons
- 2 New metals and 3 complete weapon sets for unfinished biomes
- New foods and mats
- Boss altars for Mistlands, Ashlands, and Deep North
- 8 new armor sets each with special characteristics
- Storm enemies that spawn during rain storms"
Huge shout out to thedefside for allowing me to make this trailer for him, I had such an incredible time playing the modpack that I felt it deserved a proper cinematic trailer to get players excited to play it! Not to mention the def was so helpful throughout my time playing the pack with bug fixing, mod conflicts and balancing issues that I couldn't recommend the mod pack any more, so GO DOWNLOAD IT & START YOUR JOURNEY TO VALHALLA VIKINGS!

So i downloaded the mod and played for a while , but i cant seem to find the misltands boss i have been running around the biome for a while ,everything works except for the boss, i joined the discord no one is replying , i need help

@@cameronv144 no, to get it to work you have to put recipecustomiser & weaponcustomiser to there old versions and then u have to put valheim itself to its older version, honestly im just gonna wait until its fixed which might take months but you do you ig

Have this installed with about 16 active people playing on my serevr. We just got to the mistlands and noticed no monsters. Ores/weapons/altars have been seen but nothing to fight.
Likely an Issue with the spawn that config using monsterlabz assets. If monsterlabz got an update then you need to update the spawn that config, check the modpack discord for possible fixes and help

ive installed the pack and jtv biomes just arent spawning in vegetation for the 3 biomes. the monsters, the ores, and consumables. but there is no trees, rocks, etc?

followup question: how does this work if i have a preexisting world on a server? we haven't loaded any mistlands/deep north/ashlands stuff yet - will it automatically know to apply it even if the mods weren't installed upon creation of the world?
Great questions! So q1 - EVA is a very different mod pack to JTV - JTV is more like vanilla Valheim just extending the game to the last 3 biomes, while EVA changes the game through all biomes and changes the balance of the game etc - I would recommend JTV first then EVA if you’re still hungry for mods
Q2- you can add either modpack to an existing world, you just have to add an additional mod and put in a few lines of code into the de command to spawn the new boss altars - all info for this is on the JTV page on nexus mods

Every time I try to install using the mod manager it fails and has errors. I looked at the manual installation and it's not super clear, do you have a short video for clear direction?
You’re in luck! I have a video coming out literally this evening about how to install the modpack using a mod manager called r2modman. After you watch that video, if you’re still having issues, my advice would be to delete your Valheim game files, then verify the integrity of your game files and steam will basically reset your game files giving you the perfect vanilla game files again. Then use the r2modman install guide that I’m posting later (6pm GMT) and then you should be good!

I am using R2modman, when I try to install your pack it fails around 26% so I tried installing each of the dependencies individually and I got to the last 2 and they were failing. BUT I just tried again and everything worked............................................... 😡 SO everything seems like it installled now Lol I'll come back if something doesn't seem right but going to test haha.

this looks dope, i wonder if it would be compatible with things like odin mods or especially creatures and loot mod. That would be absolutely perfect to combine.
Can confirm it works with CLLC, but needs to be configured. Epic Valheim is another modpack that uses many similar mods to Journey to Valhalla but also adds CLLC and a LOT of QoL mods like the OdinPlus mods. Hope this was helpful :)

i dont know why but me and my friend cant join each other with the mod installed. both ends even did a clean install and still cant join each other. works in vanilla but not modded valheim sadly
There’s apparently a fix using a server side sync fix mod, give that a try and let me know if it worked!

Welcome to modding an early access game. Every time the devs update, mod authors need to update their mods and this takes weeks usually!
degrade your game to previous update that does work with it!
