- Hi! I'm Tanic Sims 2 but you can call me Tanny and we are back in Pleasantview to meet yet another Pleasant family! This young married couple consists of artist Nathan - the son of Kaylynn Langerak and adopted by Daniel Pleasant - and Darcy, the only daughter of Brandi (née Broke) and Darren Dreamer, who strives to be a sporting superstar. Their daughter is Venus, whose One True Hobby becomes quite the headscratching mystery...

Hello Pleasantview gang! I am SO sorry this took a while as I’ve been working on the Downtown video. But I just couldn’t wait and needed to return to Pleasantview to play with some of my favourite sims 🥰
Hope this longer video makes up for the wait! I’ll be posting a poll on my page about an hour from now asking whether you like the longer playthroughs, or if you want to go back to the original format (three episodes per household). Another option I hadn’t considered until editing is that I could do all the introductory stuff in a separate video, then the day after the gameplay video(s) could go up. Let me know either in the comments here or on the poll ^^
Can’t believe I forgot to mention this -(like I said, maybe it’s because I’m rusty)- but two things! One: this is a special video because it’s the first with my new pink mic!! I thought it would take ages to reach a point where I could afford a new microphone, but because of kind donations on Ko-fi and support here on CZcams I was able to hit my goal! I know it’s not much, but to me it means everything 🥺 It’s a step closer in giving you the better content you all deserve.

I love the introductions, hearing the backstory and lead up to the present is always my favorite part haha. Concerning a mod for asking other sims to babysit, there totally is one! "Watch Kids Enabled by Squinge" Very handy 😉
Curious your philosophy on locking-in wants as I notice you don't seem to lock them in very often. I find myself locking wants maybe too much hahaha. I also like... love drama but at the same time end up interfering and shutting it down if it's something I don't like. ACR interactions being the big culprit of being shutdown.
I do love throwing huge parties, though. Had Lucy and Alexander's immediate family (so around 10 sims) for their graduation party and poor Lucy's younger brother had his first kiss rejected... by their other brother's boyfriend (Cassie and Don's oldest) 😂
really 🥺 i always worry when i get to editing and see the backstory and sim introductions are over 20 minutes long because i *really* like going into as much detail as possible since a lot has happened in nine rounds and i want everyone to care about my sims, especially when they’re totally new/descendants of the original sims... but at the same time i get worried no one actually cares and it’s too long... so to be told it’s your favourite part is super reassuring! still trying to figure out ways to condense them or work them into gameplay a bit more to allow more time for gameplay, but i mean... if people enjoy the introductory part, then it probably won’t get much shorter 🤣
of course squinge would come and save the day! definitely need to download that. although it would be a shame to lose -calista’s- karen’s cleaning services.
i have read this comment multiple times trying to think of a cool answer for what my philosophy for locking in wants is... and honestly? boring answer, but i’m not really sure i have one haha. like a lot of my play style, it mostly boils down to ‘cus i feel like it.’ although i guess what i do consider is how likely it is the sim would reroll the want anyway. so for example, i know nathan and darcy -annoyingly- roll the want to throw a party every single day, so for me there’s not much use in locking it in. same with if i know a pleasure sim rolls the ask sim on date want a lot. but if it’s not something they may typically roll or if it’s something that would require some perseverance (and if i’m like ‘ooh. i like that’) then i’m more likely to lock it in. so if a pleasure or romance sim rolls the want to get married, or if any non-family sims want to have babies, i’d lock those in, but i’d be less likely to lock in have a baby for family sims cus they’re probably going to reroll it anyway. if it’s something that might take a while like getting fit or changing species, then i’ll lock it in if i decide i want to work with it. it also depends on how many slots a sim has; if they only have the standard four, i’m less likely to lock a want in unless it reallyyyy intrigues me, like dexter’s want to become a witch. hope that all made sense hahaha. but yeah tl;dr: my want locking in philosophy depends on the sim and also whether i want to or not
jdjjdjdjd i very rarely interfere with acr unless it’s just. absolutely not. after mortimer died, then-young adult alexander and former step-mother dina got 2 bolts. had to stop them when i noticed they were heading for the bedroom and use the friendzone option that i *never* use. same for when dina died, and malcolm became attracted to former step-daughter chanel. ew. anything else and i just let it happen 🤣 omg that’s so sad! poor baby burb 😭 did he find love? is he thriving now? i’m so invested jfjfjjfjf
I probably love hearing about other people's sims so much because I love when I get to share my own sims lives 😂 All sims are my babies and deserve happiness hahaha.
Ooo I never really thought about sims that will reroll something often for some reason, though I definitely take rare rolls into consideration and lock those before I lose them forever haha. I find myself locking in wants that will take a long time to fulfill the most (or adults that want to train toddler skills because otherwise, my toddlers are only gonna get potty trained 🤣)
I'm mostly careful with my teens because they range from 12-18 for me (go to college/adult when they hit 19) and it spans 14 days so I watch my playables like hawks because new teens are always "FIRST KISS NOW PLEASE" and bolt for the closest teen that's usually in the 16-18 range 🤣Like buddy hold your horses for a little bit okay. Townies get a pass usually unless they've been really involved with a family/sim for a while and I've kind of established an age for them.
Baby Burb just joined his brother and the boyfriend at college hahaha. Poor kid is still looking for his first kiss and unfortunately for him, his generation was very girl heavy and it seems most of the gay/bi townies are also girls so he's not having a lot of luck finding another guy he's interested in. He just got there though so I'll have to see what happens. Might have my first poly relationship in the hood? (he's popularity/pleasure, would be right up his alley 😂) I can't wait to get back to the dorms but I just finished the round so they'll have to wait a while.

Hey Tanic, have you attempted to fix the flashing of your ui before? I’ve had this issue before and it’s usually due to smooth edges being greyed out and disabled. I don’t know if you have that problem but if you search for those fixes it might fix your flickering. I’ve dealt with all kinds of ts2 graphics issues over the years so if you have any issues feel free to ask 😊 (I love your videos btw ❤️)

yes!! forever kicking myself at how i never got to experience the uh... full range of their genetic potential together, lol. ended up with clones. david and darcy mostly just intrigue me because i can’t seem to pinpoint who they look like -besides each other- other than inheriting her skin tone i can’t see much brandi in them, but at the same time i can barely see darren either? genetics innit
