    The Peek-a-boo style is based off of a lot of lunging forward punches, some squared up stances, and punches from the slip position.. made especially for the shorter fighter. Looks so good when done right. Great job, coach!!

    • @GodsInUs
      @GodsInUs Před 2 lety +4

      @@angelocarantino4803 Oh no way. You can definitely use the tequniques. It works well with shorter people in the boxing sense. In the boxing world, tall would be considered around 6'3" and up. I'd say people up TO about 6 feet tall it works very well with bc it uses a pivot from the hips to work their way to the inside bc of shorter reach (a left/right motion at the core while moving forward to the target) although anyone can TRULY use it if they wanted. Tyson is 5'11" and used it the best imo.

    • @PrecisionBoxing
      @PrecisionBoxing  Před 2 lety +2

    Coach, can we get a video your thoughts/breaks down on Canelo’s recent loss to Bivol? Did Canelo bite off more than he could handle size wise? Or was a skill missing? Mike Tyson said he didn’t jab enough.

    • @PrecisionBoxing
      @PrecisionBoxing  Před 2 lety +69

      I might get around to it, but to answer directly to you it's a few things.
      1. Canelo relies on power and Bivol was the first fighter in awhile who could truly handle Canelo's power. Bivol is naturally too big for Canelo.
      2. Canelo did not work speed either with footwork or complex combos
      3. Bivol has no real flaws in his game and he has amazing conditioning, to beat him you have to be perfect every round.
      4. Canelo often 'admired his work' and was susceptible to counters
      5. Due to the above Canelo slowed down in the second half of the fight.
      Canelo can win, but he would have to fight more like a Pacquiao (high volume and speed with movement)

As I started to practice VR boxing and train by my self I have removed the karate guard and use a normal boxing style type gard. But if you check boxers as Roy Jones jr they dont use guard so much....I like to be flexible,, so when you told that in boxing its two step movments. That was what I needed to hear as I thought wrongly that they jumped in or used the front step only.. I am a more gasel twiting type of fighther. unfortunately like 99% of tutorials on this style the head movement and stance are wrong.. respect your work a lot mate but this is not entirely correct... firstly the head movement is a pendulum motion not a shoulder dip slip.. its a complete head bob pendulum movement left to right or right to left.. its actually too extreme for whats needed as its incredibly energy wasting and he goes quite far of the centre line.. but it worked for him.. no one usually gets this right.. and secondly the stance is much much more squared and closer feet.. feet are almost together as he is progressing forwards... its quite and awkward move unless you have been doing it for 30 years.. and thirdly it actually is sometimes a hop that he does and sometimes a right foot replace left foot .. into the jab.. sorry to correct but I think this is slightly off.. not that it matters anyway as no one ever gets this style right.. and unless you are a 20 year old fresh fighter its very hard to use this style for a number of rounds too.,.

    Marvelous video! Keep going with this project pal! It's wonderful, as usual! I've always had problems to move my head to the right (I'm orthodox) now I know that it's because I do not move my feet properly. It totally makes sense, specially because when you move your rear foot forward you cannot stay there, that's not your style, you're supposed to keep fighting as an orthodox, that's why you can't remain with your rear foot that way. Weight handling is key, too. If you take a punch while both feet are in parallel, you will get out of balance and probably knocked-down. That's why that change of foot should be fast in reality.

    That PEEKABOO Hitting of the Angles Cus Style lol... slip outside of the opponent's shoulders, because that is where all the punches come from, you need to weave under the elbows as again, that is where the punches come from. Don't focus on your opponents head, as that is not the thing attacking you. Focus on the chest, when the chest Flexis, you Bob, duck... Cus would say. If you Lay in the middle, your head is a target, so Bob, duck... but don't just stay there, your supposed to be hitting, so straight away get to the sides, move left or right and get into that position where you can hit them and they can't hit you, from the side's they can't hit you, so hit them with everything you got, because they can't hurt you. From the side's you have a chance to put in three perfect punches, uppercut hook hook. After you hit, you don't want to just stand there, you need to immediately switch to the next position around the opponent or weave across to the opponents opposite side and hit again, keep the flow going, keep switching, Flanking the opponents sides where he has no defence or offence... you got to be smart, you got to be clever and not get hit, then your a fighter,,,, not getting hit is what the science of boxing is all about, confusing the enemy, taking him out his own comfort zone, making him slow... You got to learn to weather the storm with good head movement, your head is never where the opponent last seen it... Action is faster than reaction, so keep your head in constant motion, control the unpredictable storm coming at you... Footwork, it's all about the hip's lol, plus work off an upside down triangle chalked out on the floor would help you learn to flank the opponents sides. Understanding how to easily and effortlessly close the distance down to getting to the sides, Stalking the opponent, pressure and smothering your opponents, making then cover up so you can take them unaware, moving very cleverly and effortless to the sides where you can hit them and they can't hit you... avoid, move in and bam bam bam... You need to keep a low centre of gravity, keep low to the ground so you can fire, hit upwards with great power and leverage.. plus from down there, you can see the punches coming. The lower you are, the less of a target you are. In this style, we don't travel straight down the middle of the pipe or in other words, Never Lay in the Middle... but instead instead only travel to the left or right outside angles where they can't hit us back. As they turn to face you, twist or spring.. keep outside of there shoulder, because that is where the power comes from. And when they prepare themselves to reset themselves to face you, hit them half way through there PREPARATION OF ATTACK.. halfway before completion to catch them by surprise. P.s,, Dip or Slip the straight punches coming at you, and weave under the hooks whilst trying to shoot forwards into that left or right outside angle,, flanking the opponents sides... DONT BE AFRAID TO GET TO THE SIDES !!!..

    Coach, you're not wrong but your feet are waaaay too bladed to pull it off successfully.
    You'll notice that because of that, your left slip doesn't get you past centerline enough to avoid the jab.
    Compare your feet in this video to how Tyson does it in the beginning. He is a lot more square.
    Not only does being square enable you to slip left properly, but also it makes walking forward a lot easier.

    Good job explaining it, but your moving your head just from the neck instead of bending your whole upper body side to side, not really the peak a boo

    how to defend the peek a boo? :)

    • @PrecisionBoxing
      @PrecisionBoxing  Před 2 lety +1

      A good jab and a good 1-2 along with fast in and out movement. Bivol vs Canelo was an example of how to beat the peekaboo.

    You’re doing it wrong. The head movement should be more exaggerated. Mike also did it in more of a pendulum movement
