Buying 5090 in 2025.
Should be a good deal if 5080... put in middle 4080s and 4090. With 12/13k cuda , 2800mhz and 20gb vram. I think will be a good option for some gamers and content creators

7900XTX is no slouch and has dual encoders with AV1.
@@AsmodeusExx Looks like AMD is probably giving up the high end end this gen to focus on mid-range. I wouldn't hold my breath for another 1080ti generational uplift scenario.
@@daviddesrosiers1946 I know about the AV1 but at this day and time h.265 is ruling the roost. And the 7900XTX and all of the other AMD cards are over 50% slower in 3D rendering which forces people in my camp to deal with Intel CPU's partnered with Nvidia GPU's.
That's true if amd Got their stuff together than it would be nice. Cause I'm baffled that my 7900xt doesn't have out of the box amd relive HDR recording supported. Amd is doing great and I think they're doing a lot but they should get some stuff set in stone cause I'm already thinking of jumping ship to NVIDIA 5080 series.
At this time before Blackwell and R9K wait, because current gen is in a deflationary price spiral into q4 extending into q1 2025. Means u can wait for the actual data into q4 as current gen price tanks albeit I expect a competitive 50x0 price on TSMC 4NP depreciated process to offset building a wide bus VRAM card so current gen price will fall even more. Worth waiting into Oct/Nov. mb
there will be no x2 800ish mm2 5090, 5090 is 1 die and on the economic cost to fab at full die, its redesigned into the 600ish range, U can c 4 compute / array on one BW die but at so 200 mm2, 400 mm2, 600 mm2 is a waste of silicon so the 5090 redesign and then then Titan full die. mb
Computex is playing games with their announcements. They originally hinted at a possible 50 series launch/announcement, but that hinting language has changed and been removed. So, it's still all revolving around Twitter rumors. Which series do you think is more disappointing, 20, or 40?
They are trying to get everybody fired up in a rough economy, polishing gimped gpus and trying to get as much money as possible for 5080/90 because they will be in limited supply intentionally. With DLSS magic and games getting close to true realism the 4000 series is more of a dissapointment. The 4080 / super has a 256 bit memory which is no where near enough for 4k and forget about 8k. The 5090 should be an entry level workstation / gaming gpu with a 512 bit memory bus that can hold its own without having to rely on gimmicks like DLSS / Frame Generation.
The 4090 is an embarrassment also in regards to melting connectors, they are pushing the architecture passed acceptable levels and should be forced to fix the issue. The US government should step in as there is obviously no limit to Nvidia's hubris. Intel is creating similar issues with 13/14th gen i9 cpus getting pushed too hard. Also Nvidia released a 3080 16gb only in China at 3000 series release and finally the US is starting to put a boot on Jensen's neck.

@techno panda I would like to get an opinion on how we think the next highest tier AMD card (since they said they wont be competing at "high end") would holdup against say the 4080S or better. Particularly VR applications and heavy modlists. 16gb VRAM is just not enough, otherwise happy with the overall performance, but would like to upgrade. Just wasnt willing to pay 4090 prices with 5000 series coming out. I did notice and insane imrpovement going from 6800xt to 4080S (that was my recent upgrade comparison for reference). If 4080 had 24 gb VRAM, id probbaly be comfortabel staying as is...
