It’s not just about the content, it’s about the creator. No one goes to Tim’s stream to see high skilled game play. There’s a lot of people posting “30+ kill games”. Nickmercs could probably play checkers for 4 hours on stream and still get 50k viewers.
but Nick needed crazy high kill gameplay vids for yearsz to get his initial, true fans. now he can do whatever he wants
a better more recent example would be TFue. Would TFue been as popular rn if he didnt go on that crazy Fortnite run? and instead tried to be TimtheTatman? no. but thru that, he has true 20k fans that will watch him do whstever
also high kills help, bc you could be selected to a major tourney and get way more eyes on you (see JoeWo, Huskerrs. those dudes were getting like 20 viewers on twitch before they blew up on warzone)
Exactly... They're entertainers. It's more about them, their hilarious banter, etc than gameplay

Yep, I see ytbers on other games be like I typed this thing in to see if anyone doing it and no one doing it, and I hear that people started their channel or it was boosted when they succeeded at a series they created

I can name a few you tubers who don’t “copy” content or make up new ideas
I’m having no issue growing because it never mattered about gameplay. I took a week to focus on gameplay as a test and every single video did bad.
After that, I went to personality based niche style videos and have seen immense growth. All these guys have massive opportunities, but they have to know that times have changed and literally no one cares about how good you are at a video game.
These guys are personalities and if they can mix both, the success they can have is bigger than anyone else in the scene.

TST is hands down the best channel I’ve followed in years. You guys made 2020 and lockdown/corona virus enjoyable. Don’t get discouraged you guys are doing great. It’s only a matter of time until you break that barrier.

The platform favors fast generated content over stuff that takes weeks or months to make.
So it’s a choice between frequent uploads or quality uploads. Gaming is saturated with the same type of content, and it would be nice if the platform took into account film makers and animators in their algorithm. Basically the only way to grow with art is to be mentioned by someone with millions of subscribers. I’ll collaborate but I haven’t had a shot yet.
Growing a fan base is definitely a grind. Started posting gameplays a month ago. Finally growing my sub count and I was so excited when I hit my first 100 subs. Grind don't stop!

I remember seeing StoneMoutain64 around the 400K mark early on in 2020, I checked it now, 2.2 Mill. His Commanding officer serious is very entertainment and skillful. His voice and effect sounds very realistic. I see the modern day Gamer just like underground rappers from the 90's, plenty had the quality, just needed that 1 hit! Keep at it!
You also need to have personality. I actually enjoy watching tim and nick just chatting. It’s not all effort, it’s also quality
facts. The reason Nick, Tim, Cloak, Jack etc are all popping off on youtube is because they're all good friends and their interactions together are funny as shit. None of them are breaking any world records for kills, but they get the most views because they're the most entertaining .
And thats the problem. Everyone is doing the Same Thing. Copying and pasting ideas isnt going to set you apart. Theres no doubt Hitch is making great content, but its just the same. Hitch needs to become a house hold name and seperate himself from the crowd. Easier said then done, but its doable.
When there’s humour in videos that’s what can keep someone interested as well as their skill, that’s why I watch scump he’s sick at cod and he’s funny af
I really enjoyed the Tarkov content with Lupo, but TST just has to keep doing what they're doing. It ain't broke, don't fix it. I discovered them through Doc so would love to see more with him in the future

I watch Nike, Jack (courage) and Tim everyday. It’s not about the content but about the actual creatures. Their personalities are incredible. Don’t give up hope and don’t change if you don’t want to. I don’t watch Optic clips but I’ll give it a shot.
People don’t watch your stream for the gameplay and the talent - they watch people they like that are entertaining. It’s all about your attitude, the people you’re playing with and the audience. If there’s no audience then it’s all on you to play and be interesting.
I feel like it’s hard to grow cause everyone wants to do it specially now days!

Their problem is they’re doing it for the fame... when it’s what you love and are passionate about it’s a lot easier to gain a following

Stop comparing successes. The Nickmercs and Tim’s of the world will always getting millions of views. Until you come to terms with where you stand in this crazy game of content creation, you’ll always see, what should be successes, as failures. For a Nick and Tim, 30k views on a video means something is wrong, but maybe for you that’s a dream come true. We aren’t promised anything as creators, but if you want it bad enough, and you’re patient with the process (very patient), success will come.

It’s impossible to grow? Futives dropped a nuke in search & destroy only had 170 subs. In 8 months he has gained 660k subs. From rags to riches over night. If your good enough, & posting the right content, THEY CANT IGNORE YOU FOREVER.
We are talking about 2021 here though. That was about 2 yrs ago.
I wouldn't say it isnt impossible. But the chances of going big on youtube are low now a days.

The market is so saturated it’s at the point where creators need that X factor. It’s not even about how good people play anymore. There’s a thousand good players out there but only a handful of entertainers. Doc is a perfect example. He’s not the best but he’s entertaining. At the other end you’ve got someone like Dougisraw who I’d consider one of the top players and his channel is slowly fading. THB I don’t know who those guys are and I mean that in a nice way. Tips and tricks videos are a good way to build an audience but you need to be able to keep them coming back

Paid advertisement is the only way to boost your channel you have to be willing to lose some money to get followers and once you have enough the algorithm gets broken. I'm grinding out my soundcloud atm and it's all paid ads or reposts in my case.

Personalities and info is a big part of streaming these days it seems to me, those are the two main reasons myself and others view new content. A lot of dark matter around doing really good in game with all the cheating going on. Feels bad that cheaters can and will at times bring down the good players who don't cheat. That's a really big deal these days.
I bet these people have a couple hundred thousand subs on youtube! They don't really know what the struggle is! The struggle is putting out content everyday and for some reason not being able to get one sub because youtube black listed your channel for some reason. You an do everything right, Great thumbnail, tags and great title and still nobody will see it. Thats a real struggle, these dudes not struggling.

Hitch sounds really entitled here. They're literally admitting the just copying other people's ideas and then expecting to see growth. You need to be original and offer something unique to set yourself apart. These days people mostly watch their fav creator because of the person and the personality. Just good content alone won't get you far since the bar and standard is now so high. The reason I've watched hecz's videos in the past was for the him, I actually found most of his content not great but still watched.

Bit of a weird reason to do it to just want to he famous or big, i think the reason alot actually make it big is cause they dont think like that. They are just doing what they love.
Im sure thats not the motivation. If they didn't love it, they wouldn't put in the effort that they do... but at the end of the day anyone that creates content is going to have that dream of hitting it big. It gives you the security needed to continue doing what you love.

"everyone is doing it" which means the market may be saturated. Personally, there are too many YT channels to subscribe to AND keep up with. I already sub to TTT, NickMercs, and DrDisrespect and those meet my Warzone hijinx needs. There's just too much to watch and keep up with. And YT creators are some highly needy people. "Like, subscribe, and click that bell" on way too many videos. Your audience isn't new to YT. We know how it all works. Don't beg to be famous. Those are general thoughts and not aimed at the creators in this specific video.

Yeah. A lot of small channels focus so much on fame, money and quitting their job that they forgot they need to work for free before getting the benefits on CZcams. Work hard, stay consistent, build a fan base, post what you like and focus on quality.

I only care about my content, my subscribers and just helping people as much as I can cause a lot people I know just do CZcams for money and not to interact with their subs. It’s really pathetic
