What surprises me is that they think that LESLIE of all people could do Star Wars in a different way and better than George 🤣
It’s worse, Leslie is the one that’s perpetrating the idea of how “George isn’t the only one that can write good Star Wars” while clearly trying to make it clear that they want to be the person that writes Good Star Wars.
Star wars will die with thus show. 100%
Wait... She interprets Kylo teaming up with Rey as some kind of synergy between light and dark joining forces?
How about Kylo joining Rey was actually just him turning back toward the light, becoming Ben again, and therefore it was NOT a combination of the light joining with the dark.
You would think these people would be aware of their own Stories, but as demonstrated time and time again, these people don’t understand the Franchise they’re writing for.
Exactly, the force dyad was not Bout light and dark. If so then once Kylo became Ben again, then the dyad would have broken. Instead they could see eachother, Rey passed him the lightsaber and Palpatine used it to rejuvenate himself. Ben also learned the force heal from Rey through it. I'm not a st fan but I've seen them and its obvious the dyad stayed in place even after Ben rejected the darkside. It aligns with their ridiculous and stupid narrative of making morally gray characters or anti-heroes as the lead character in their show. WTF I hate modern star Wars. oh wait it's Disney Star wars
It's about making every villain relatable, trying to humanize their actions. When you look at who controls all the media companies that put out content with that narrative, it becomes abundantly clear that this is an intentional piece of propaganda being shoved into western media to try and normalize heinous actions. Evil's gotta protect itself.
they could easily do this with Revan and everyone would be happy. Theres already a story about "grey jedi" (I know they arent a real thing) yet they continue to screw over the fans
@kitdrury-ir7li That's not the case with Revan. Everyone has a misconception that Revan uses both sides of the Force when in reality Revan tends to use the Dark Side more than the Light and after he redeem himself, he later regained his memories again and remembered that the True Sith are out there still and left his family behind to confront this menace.

Balance is NOT a middle ground BETWEEN light and dark.
Balance = Light Side
Imbalance = Dark Side
It's very much like Mufasa who maintained the balance of the circle of life, versus Scar who let the Hyenas run wild the throw off the balance and ultimately ravage the pride land.
The concept of there being no light without darkness is not something she came up with, so first of all let's dispel that - Ridley Scott's movie Legend established this, as it was some of the final words Tim Curry's character shared with Tom Cruise's character before getting cast into the void in the third act of the movie.
Secondly, Matthew Stover's novelization of Revenge of the Sith touched on this beautifully with this quote: "The brightest light casts the darkest shadow. The dark is generous and it is patient and it always wins - but in the heart of its strength lies its weakness: one lone candle is enough to hold it back. Love is more than a candle. Love can ignite the stars."
The way Matthew Stover describes it, the presence of light presents the scenario of an equal amount of darkness, but it only takes a small amount of light to undermine and defeat any amount of darkness.
It's almost as if George Lucas has a degree in the study of humans..... and learned that the "[best] fairy-stories always imitate the greatest fairy-story of them all: Creation." -JRR Tolkien
Art doesn't come from nowhere: the Living God, the Lover of art and beauty, infused creativity into us. To bastardise someone else's creation not only mocks them, it also says to God "I don't care for what you gave me enough to use it."

Far better spoken than my comment saying something similar. It's intentional brainwashing through media. But people don't think that happens in the West, somehow.
One might wonder why people would do that? Well, look at who owns all the media companies in Hollywood, and their backgrounds. You'll start to notice a pattern.
The talk of balance always reminds me of why I believe Windu was one of the strongest "internally" just because of his lightsaber form. They say that his form was a pure attack from which completely goes against Jedi only fighting for defense. His from alone was a mighty dark side temptation and he always kept that at bay and stayed true to the light. Except for that whole "Ima kill Sidious right now" thing. I believe he was one of the strongest in sheer fortitude and conviction.
Crazy how we all went from super excited, to getting slightly scared and in the end losing interest all together for the Acolyte.
I agree with theory. The saying is “may the force be with you” not “may your force powers be in balance.” Balance is supposed to be about serving the will of the force, not that anyone who is “balanced” can suddenly use the force like a Jedi/Sith can.
If it wasn't clear before, it's clear now, she's bending Star Wars to fit her worldview. Her perspective on the force is fundamentally at-odds with George and (big surprise) with reality. The very essence of the Sith and with bad people in general is that they are at odds with nature, with life
Yeah but their feelings are more important than reality
Except her view is the same that was established by KOTOR and all of the Legends content pre-2010 and even some after. George changed the Force, but the narrative of chaos vs life is not what it originally was.

Jedi Grandmaster Alex Jones
I had the privilege of a week with the Shaolin monks in their temple in China. They practise pure Zen Buddhism. George based the force on Chi energy that exists as a force in everything. It’s not something you plug into for good or evil, it is!
The Shaolin monks don’t study how to attach to the energy it is there inside everyone and everything. A force of life if you like. They learn through practice, discipline and meditation to develop it to its full power inside each and everyone. They don’t train to attach unless threatened, they train to defend.
Sound familiar. The Jedis are mindful of the moment, that’s where power lies if they have realized their full potential.
I don’t see Anakin’s portrayal in Ahsoka as being the go-to. He’s unique. The Chosen One, and I also believe that he likely took the father’s place in the WbWs.
For whatever it’s worth, I always really loved the portrayal of Luke in the EU. He learned from the mistakes of those that came before him and learned to balance his own life and desires, which in turn allowed him to show tremendous balance and power in the Force.
I like the fact that he's able to contribute while being a force ghost, makes the chosen one title much more significant. Plus it immortalizes Anakin in a way, and I'm all for that.
Be careful about Screenrant, they're pretty clickbaity...

I do not think one's choice to not follow certain franchises qualifies them as having "the mind of a 13-year-old." But hey, that is just me.
@@Unicornpiratedamn, that 13 year old made more money in one year than you will in your entire life. Man i wish i was as dumb as SWT lmaooooo
Yeah, in my head the force is a sort of natural energy, like a wave, it pushes it pulls it ebs and flows and you can move along side and with it, as the jedi do in harmony. Or you can say "I want to turn this water to ice, to strangle those within it" which disrupts, transforms and alters the force into something its not naturally supposed to be, causing chaos and in a sense creating the dark-side.
At this point Theory, you’re the only reason why I’m still into Star Wars at this point in time. Your content, your lightsabers, your stories, theories, etc. This feels like I’m throwing in the towel lol…

Insanely underrated comment, holy moly. Straight facts
The thing I’m worried about for the Acolyte is just how they’re gonna portray the Jedi. This is supposed to be during the high republic and when the Jedi are at their peak. The trailers look good but it seems like their going with the angle of the Jedi aren’t really that good and are hypocrites angle. This worked for the prequel era cause the point was that the Jedi lost their way. But, I think new Star Wars tries too much to say the Jedi aren’t actually a good thing. The Jedi were always supposed to be good, they just fell from grace at the point of the prequel.
I feel a great disturbance in the Force.! As if billions of voices suddenly cried out in Horror. But could never be silenced.!
I'm paraphrasing of course.

"So high on thier own farts" this brings new meaning to the "Death Star" 😂
The Fault in Our Death Stars, amirite?
I think you could also apply the idea of cockiness to the jedi, they refused to believe that a sith could be controlling their moves to a level that they were told what was coming and they ignored it completely. It had been so long since anything challenged them that they forgot there was something out there that actually could. All light is not balance as all light also leads to the idea of we are untouchable
All Light is Balance as the Dark Side is supposed to represent a Cancer to the Force. The Force is the Human Body, and the Dark Side is the Cancer, that’s how it has always worked.
I think the prequels and the literature around it says this is down to the influence of Plagueis and Palpatine unbalancing the force.
To me I think of the force as just a "force of nature". It does not care of the affairs of living beings. The morals that humans and aliens put on their own civil communities to keep itself from chaos. Think of a force as a light saber itself. It can be used for good, evil or even a bit of both. It's the intend of the user (the force user) that dictates the action from the force. A force push when force user doesn't want to hurt someone. Force lightning when he does want to hurt or kill someone. The Jedi just created a Code to keep their force users from losing control from themselves. That creates chaos and in unbalance when the Jedi can sometimes lose control of their emotions which lead to greed, fear, anger. And the Sith created their code to have total freedom to use the force as they pleased. They hated being controlled by the Jedi.
It's a story as old as time. Two factions that disagree on ideals and they fight each other to see which idea wins. But at the end of the day, I believe, the force is just that a tool to be used by some powerful living beings. I don't think the force itself thinks about right or wrong. What's good or evil, it's truly neutral to the affairs of humans/aliens. Wasn't this discussed in Rebels cartoon with the Bendu.
In some ways i'd like to think Palpatine may have also not fought Vader off because in some way he might've been proud of Vader for finally "beating" him.
“Yeah George said this about the force but I disagree and I’m gonna do it my way because I can.” Essentially is what I got from her quotes. How did NOBODY at Lucasfilm step in and shut her blasphemy down?

Gotta say Mortis was the Ideal Vision for the Force. When the Light Side is too strong, the Force balances the scales by culminating power into the Dark Side. When the Dark Side grows too strong, the Force tips the scales back to the Light.
Throughout The Old Republic you could see the Force being tipped to and fro constantly as the galaxy was maintaining balance....It was nothing but war...but it was balanced. Neither side grew too strong until Revan and then it warped Revan.
Every Star Wars film has progressed how the Force is understood. When Luke moved that lightsaber in ESB, that was brand new. ‘Oh, shit! They changed the force! That’s not how it works!’

Balance isn’t something you must “unlock” in other to use the Force. Balance is the light. When you’re unbalanced, you’re the dark.
The Dark Side and the Light Side are not the same as good or evil or weak or strong. Mace Windu, a good guy, could tap into dark side abilities (his use of Vapaad for one, Shatterpoint for another) without becoming unbalanced. It does NOT make Mace evil.
This article is written in such a way that it is confusing and quite possibly paraphrasing what Leslye Hedland really means. I’m not defending her but it seems like they’re taking her words and trying to explain it in their way. “Just for clicks!”
this!
Always on team light side.
Maaannn you are spot on i wish i could like this a million times
I agree.
Also, in regards to "the Force is the Force", I find it interesting that while George Lucas says "light side" in interviews, he didn't use that phrase in all 6 movies. It's either "The Force" or the "Dark Side."
The Dark Side IS mbalance.
This is correct except for your first statement. The living Force is inherently meant to give life, to be a positive or "light" reinforcement that binds all of existence together. And then as you said, the dark side disrupts the natural flow of balance and must be purged in order to be brought back into balance
An old guy once said “that’s not how the force works” and he was right. Now they are completely overriding everything that what makes the force the force.
The way I understood dark side versus light side and Yoda’s statement that the Force was his ally was that whether you allowed the Force to guide you as a user or whether you bent the Force against itself and to your own Will
How do you move away from something you were nowhere near to begin with?
How could you do this? This is outrageous, it’s unfair.
Magic the Gathering did this to their franchise. It used to be every color has their own uniqueness, then they destroyed those distinctions and all the colors felt the same.
Disney's approach to several projects seems like "let's do whatever show/movie we want but put a Star Wars label so it sells more"
Star Wars really has me caring more about a Lego show than anything live action
Fr, I'm actually pretty excited about the new Lego project. Finally, darth Jar Jar is canon
@@WC12VALVEOnly canon in the Lego Star wars Universe
Oh lord. Not this entire discussion on ‘balance’ again. I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised, these ideas have been foreshadowed as far back as the mortis arc in TCW.
Yep. It was further examined with the Je'daii in the Dawn of the Jedi books
This was in KOTOR II too.
"What the creator said and meant is wrong. I'm right." Your description of Dark Side users seems to fit what's-her-face perfectly
This show will show how Disney has no idea about what theyre doing.
They KNOW what they’re doing. They just don’t care whether it’s what we want or not
@@Grid433 maybe.. but bro they could be making so much more money just by doing it right. And its not that hard to create better starwars content. So I think theyre just stupid and too lgbtq women power feminism minded. There is way too much politics in a cinematic universe. And they should stop making shows and start creating series.
"Stop! Stop! He's Already Dead"
Simpsons?
How dare you assume it’s pronouns!
Robot Head made a great video about the Acolyte and summed it up perfectly....‘The next kick into the Star Wars corpse.’ 😂🤣🤣🤣😂😂
But of course SWT can't see that. The guy is reading a Screen Rant article and somehow think Dave Filoni or Jon Faverau is gonna "save" Star Wars. It's like seeing a kid touch a hot stove over and over again somehow thinking the next time will feel better.
this is up there with "2 Jedi, 2 Sith. It's balance!"
I have a bad feeling about this! Disney Star Wars just wants to destroy what we all learned to Love.
Do they ever stop to think before going forward with an idea as to whether or not the fans will accept it?
No
“It might be a personal thing.”
It is. It is a personal thing that she wants to implement in this world of Star Wars. Leaving a statement of her work. It just sounds bitter.
I believe that Yoda saying the Force is his ally leads towards balance in the Force with one's self; it flows through you, guides you, influences you. Conversely, the Sith do not ally themselves with the Force, they attempt to make the Force a slave to themselves; they bend it to their will, they influence it to create life or steal it to preserve themselves, to control.
Leslie looks like the "Ermmahgerd" Goosebumps girl.
Did you hear about Pablo Hidalgo saying that Lucas liked Kenobi? 😬
Pablo is a clown! 🤡
Proof or just he said she said BS? cant find it anywhere on google nor people I know. lol
Press X to doubt
Whether Pablo is telling the truth or not.....I'm not surprised and it adds up lol
@@FoxVidz2000 how does it add up Lucas has never said anything about Kenobi 🤣 again, proof?
You can't save it. Learn to let go. He promised to show youbthe power to save Star Wars. You were supposed to bring greatness to it not leave it in darkness.
“So high on your own farts” - Disney Star Wars summed up
The Sith are just high on their own farts, lol.
This sounds like her hinting at them just letting more randos who should be force sensitive at all, do things with the force.
I agree with the idea that there is no light without darkness… to an extent and certainly not in the way she’s saying. However her saying anyone who can use the force is balanced is ludicrous. Darth Maul was almost never balanced that was who he was. He didn’t need to be balanced. His rage was one what made him dangerous. Same with many other sith including Vader!
Just when you thought they couldn't kill star wars anymore. I was wrong.
The force was always like a tool to me. How you used that tool was completely up to the wielder themselves and their capabilities with it.
“There is no light without darkness”
So that grey Jedi thing.
The Old EU/Legends has been doing this for years. By the NJO Jacen and other Jedi were using parts of the Darkside to find ways to fight the Vong. That's how they found Force Lightning can affect and hurt the Vong.
By the Dark Nest Trilogy Luke was trying to discover what Jacen had with using the Darkside for the purposes of good but found it too corrupting.
By Legacy of the Force, again there was this need for balance between light and Dark
And by the Legacy Comics Cade Skywalker was proving that you can use the Darkside for the Light with his resurrection powers.
Star Wars has ALWAYS been about Balance. And I think Lucas has always said as much. It's not that ALL dark needs to be gone. It's that the Force needs a balance of the two. You're right in that the Force itself doesn't punish you, but the Force always shifts in ways to fix itself. That's why ALL of Star Wars lore has cycles of light and dark eras. Sometimes one reigns for a while then the other. Then neither. It's all about finding that perfect blend of light and Dark. Luke WAS that Balance after RotJ. Vader saw to the destruction of the Sith and restoration of Order in the galaxy. No galaxy wide Jedi order polluting the Galaxy with an excess of self-righteous light and no Galaxy wide Sith Order to rule over all.
Exactly. But George changed this. This is how it originally was. It's the entire basis for most of Legends and KOTOR. If the Light grows too powerful, a Darkside Chosen one rises to restore balance and vice versa. Anakin overthrew the Light, Luke the Dark, Jacen the Light, Jaina the Dark. Malgus/Bastia, Revan/Malak, Meetra/Nihilus, etc etc.
George didn't like characters like Jolee Bindo and Gray Jedi so he changed it. Now it's chaos vs life and it doesn't make as much sense.
Lets not forget the Je'daii was all about balance as well
Yes! KOTOR II is the first I personally remember seeing this concept of balance in Star Wars. Then I assumed that was just the case. Later learning George hated grey Jedi and saw the darkside as being unbalanced. So this whole debate on what balance is has been around for along time. The article is really trying to play on the division in the fandom.
@MrInfinity418 That's because George changed his mind. Originally it was like KOTOR said.
@@changlouriousbasterd9524 I get that. I’m just basically agreeing that she’s not the first to have this take on things and it’s been very prevalent before her or Disney so the article presenting it as her changing things is a bit clickbait
Yep we're fucking doomed
it's like an unspoken rule by now that nobody agrees with disney-era star wars stuff that they make nowadays, at least not until they prove themselves worthy
To quote Han Solo, That's not how the Force works.
I’m convinced Disney is trying to tank their own company. Doing the same thing expecting a different result. Insanity.
Disney doesn’t care because they’ll still make bank regardless if the stuff they are releasing is garbage it’s the sad truth, they don’t care if the true fans hate it because they still make money.
The sort of word salad nonsense you’d expect from Harvey Wienstien’s former PA.
How in Gods name is she allowed to hold this kind of position with that bagage is beyond me, disgraceful.
@@tob.meister Disney execs were in bed with Weinstein for decades...
@tob.meister you're called toxic and have your comments removed from star wars official posts if you so much as question it.
The force is not strong in that one. DEI drags her towards the dark side.
This is a total duality take. For anything to be “good” there must be “bad” without bad you wouldn’t have any concept of good. I think that’s what she is going for.
You know this show is going to be bad if Disney cancelled the damn show before anyone has even watched it
They didn't cancel the first season, only more seasons. Now the empty-minded she-devil is attempting to restore them.
Did you get this from Mike Zeroh🤣
I can tell you right now Carrie Anne Moss and Dafne Keen and the actor from Squid Game(I forget his name😢) will be the best part of this show
As to whether the show will be good or not remains to be seen but I’m not confident
@@rigby_rich3650 That's a name I haven't heard in a long time. Long time.
Nothing got canceled but apparently The Acolyte will tell a somewhat complete story whilst leaving room for more. Hopefully this means future seasons will be canceled but we can only hope.
