I am in my early fourties and I can 100 % confirm this. People ghosted me so often (some twice!) that I became terrified getting involved in social interactions. Once I treated myself with respect, I got married to a beautiful wife. Now our ways will part in an amicable way from both sides. I do what I love and have found friends who cheer me for who I am. It may take a time, but there is no other way. Befriend yourself first. Try to learn new things without questioning your whole being all the time. You can be vulnerable in friendships, but do not run around displaying your failures like this is all you have to offer. - Do not hesitate to be kind, but set boundaries and move on if needed. There are 8 billion people and your tribe is also out there. Don't waste time on the others. Good luck!

Thanks for the refresher, your presentation style and body language are both relatable and endearing. Back to topic, I developed my confidence in the first grade when I got tired of being bullied, even though I could easily outrun them. Applied psychology and body language are a powerful tool for sure.

You don't project things you don't own, projecting power and confidence they both come from experience and expertise.
You can try many many years to fake but people can perceive it when you project things and you don't show power & confidence.
There is difference between projecting and showing, the projecting is a reflex coming from another source, the showing it came from your source
