- Wherein our hero Durfee reviews the great fantasy thriller Monster Hunter: International by Larry Correia. #LarryCorreia #MonsterHunterInternational
Picked up Needful Things and Pillars of the Earth yesterday for $10. Pretty sweet. Also ordered Lonesome Crown. Surprisingly not $10
I love me some Monster Hunter International glad somebody finally reviews some of Larry Correia most Bad Ass books more people need to read it's action-packed Mayhem,I've read all these books Larry also has some really awesome fantasy books, I just finished reading The Forgetting Moon it's the first book I've read in a long time that I was visually seeing the things that you wrote, great video keep up the good content
I started this series near the end of last year and was pretty blown away by the quality. It was everything I was looking for in the urban fantasy genre since catching up to Dresden Files. I've been trying to get some of my friends to read it ever since, but nobody will! Lol
I read the first book last week and loved it I ordered the rest of the series
@mrpopodopalis1056 I did the same thing after book one, I bought the entire series. It's so good.
When the game Monster Hunter Rise came out, I wanted to dive into the lore even deeper. I had to search for any books that were associated with it, and came across these books. It turns out that they aren’t related at all. But, it was a great book and I had a lot of fun with it. Great review sir. Have a great Sunday
Larry is awesome. Bonus points for being a huge defender of free speech and expression-Anti-Woke author (we need more).
This comment made me want to read this book. Thanks.
Really enjoying your reviews of Larry's books!
Might we interest you in a review copy of the next Forgotten Warrior book?
Larry Correia is criminally underrated
Nothing beats a good Evil Monsters vs BAMFs genre for this dawg. It just takes me back to being a boy playing imagination with his homies for hours except in book form! Larry adds all the right touches and from what I can tell doesn't include any silly sex transitions. Just a fade out and back to kicking evil hordes of monster for hours while taking 'damage' like a m0f0. A little Ex Machina at times, but no hard hate there, just something to expect.
That's what's all about, having fun while reading. Light novel recommendation: Grimgar Fantasy of ashes and illusion.
I own this book , and ordered the rest in the series this week
Excellent review. 🙂
I've only read the 1st book in the series and it was great
Baen always does great covers.
I just finished Pallaium Wars #3 by Marko Kloos. It seems to be a neverending series, but I thought it was well done. Now I'm tempted by one of the Firefly novels, The Magnificent Nine. In the opening, River steals Jane's hat.
That cover really is pretty great. I appreciate how the guy is holding the shotgun in his left hand.
Sold me on this one. I am going to read this between wrath and empire of the vampire
Sold on the series by your review.
Favorite Larry Correia book?
My favorite is hard magic. Love the “diesel punk” aesthetic.
The third MHI book that focused on Earl or maybe the Franks book.
Tried Son of the Black Sword twice, but was bored. The overall writing just wasn't up to par as his early MH books.
MHI has a great first chapter.
If Larry Correia were a real writer, his books would be peopled by angst filled intersectional weenies who were "stunning and brave" because they got out of bed in the morning, and evil would just depend on your point of view. Instead he writes kick-ass action fiction peopled by very competent protagonists and truly evil villains that actually sells well. I guess he'll have to suffer under that burden until he matures into a "real" writer.
The series at the beginning was great. Then it became meh. Some were god-awful boring, especially the ones written by other writers. Never could even finish those, much less some of Larry's latter ones.
