Having just discovered Larry Correia, I started with Servants of War. Excellent book. So I picked up Monster Hunter International, and blew through it. Started Vendetta today, and actually just purchased Hard Magic. You’re exactly right when you say his books are a blast to read, and huge reason for that is because it is so obvious Correia is having a lot of fun writing his stories. Great review. Looking forward to reading this one.
Also, The Forgetting Moon was excellent! The Blackest Heart and The Lonesome Crown are both on my TBR for the very near future!

It's my favorite series. Love the alternative history and great characters in Fea and Sullivan and the gang.

Hit or miss author for me. Read and liked that series. Monster Hunter Inc series has jumped the shark, however.
This author kinda reminds me of author Jonathan Maberry. Another hit or miss author for me. His first couple of Joe Ledger novels were great, then they became mediocre. Just gave up on his latest book, Son of the Poison Rose. Kagen the Damned was better, but not the juvenile sequel.
Finally finished your 3rd epic novel, Brian. At 1054 pages, it took me a couple of weeks to finish. Very good book.

I liked this series very much. My only quibble with it is that there would people all over the United States trying to figure out how these powers work. Maybe not one large overarching organization like in Japan.

"In medias res necessitates flashbacks, which strike me as boring and sort of corny. They always make me think of those movies from the forties and fifties where the picture gets all swimmy, the voices get all echoey, and suddenly it's sixteen months ago... but I like to start at square one... I'm an A-to-Z man; serve me the appetizer first and give me dessert if I eat my veggies." -- Stephen King, On Writing

The worldbulding and characters sound really unique and interesting! I love the idea of alternate history, but I've hardly read any, so maybe I need to check this one out!

I don't like flashbacks either. I don't think I like multiple pov's as well. Nothing like sticking with the private detective all the way through.

Love your videos Brian. I recommend reading Noli Me Tanere (touch me not), a famous novel by Jose Rizal from the Philippines. It is one of the most important piece of literature in the country.
