As an iPad 10th user, it’s been annoying and stupid connecting your type c cable, using the adapter and plugging in the pencil. But now it makes it much easier to charge your iPencil

Seems like a great Apple Pencil to pair with the iPad 10th Gen. It almost seems like that’s specifically what it was made for 😅
I keep telling everyone that this new Apple Pencil is a one size fits all meant to do the most basic Apple Pencil tasks across all of the iPads. This leads me to believe that they may be cooking up an “Apple Pencil Pro” that will only work with the Pro iPads and will tout features such as Find My and the touch capabilities, magnetic pairing & charging, pressure sensing, and possibly even a small speaker hole and lanyard connector like the new AirPods 2!
They’ve already stopped selling the 1st gen Pencil and are currently dropping the price on gen 2 to relieve stock. I think eventually both will be gone and we will have two options: Apple Pencil and Apple Pencil Pro, replacing both the 1st Gen and 2nd gen

I agree because this new one was working with the 10th gen which has the camera in landscape hopefully if they make a new ‘pro’ pencil it will have the magnet/charging to one side so the next pro/air/mini iPads will also have the landscape camera?

I’ve bought 3 Apple Pencils in the past over the years, the first one stuck out of the iPad like a sore thumb, the other two clipped on the new iPads, but I never used them or the iPads, wasted so much money and found each year I bought the new Pro’s, I could do things quicker on the iPhones. So, I’m not tempted this year, but thanks as always for the info! ❤x

I've had my Apple pencil 2 since 2020 when I had my 2018 Ipad pro 11 inch. Sold that ipad but kept the pencil. Using it with my m2 ipad pro and works very well. Still has great battery life despite my pencil being almost 4 years old. I don't see what improvements that can make to the second gen pencil to make it better and I use mines all the time.

I have a ninth generation iPad so with the lighting port, if I were to buy an Apple Pencil USB-C can I connect it to the iPad using the iPad charger cable? the cable has 2 ports, a lighting (which goes into the ipad) and a usb-c (the one that goes directly into the charger). If I were to use that cable would I have any problems or incompatibilities between the pen and the iPad?
Can you share the wallpaper for iPad? For iPhone on the site you shared, it seems to be incompatible with iPad.

Did you tried to pair it again in Bluetooth Settings?
I use my second gen on multiple devices and for me that would be a big deal breaker having to plug it in each time!
Can you charge and use at the same time?
i have the ipad air 5 and pencil 2. Use it mainly for work, class and some entertainment. Pencil 2 cause I do artwork sometimes. But for someone else I know only needs the pencil for writing and non-art stuff then I recommended the adonit neo pro. Since it charges magnetically too

So it's basically the same as my $20 amazon pencil with the tilt but no pressure sensor except the $20 one will charge usb-c and has wireless charging and pairing
What happens if you try to stick a gen 1 or gen 2 to the iPad 10? Gen 1 is presumably not magnetic but what about the overhang?
Will keep my gen 2 pencil but if don’t have a pencil already it looks good.

I am a very basic musician user of iPad (no drawing or art) and was on the fence about shelling out extra for the iPad Air for better Apple Pencil integration. Your video showed me exactly what I needed to know: the pencil usb C will work perfectly with iPad 10 and since I don’t do art, it has all the features I need + the elegant magnetic storage. Thank you ❤️ the savings on the pencil and iPad 10 vs the higher performance options (that I don’t need) will be significant.
my partner and i each have the 2nd gen apple pencil for his 5th gen ipad air and my ipad pro 6th gen. i don’t see a reason for either of us to get this new one, as he’s a basic user and having 2 would be redundant, even though in a vacuum, this latest one would suit him better.

I bought the 10th gen and the usbc pencil and I love it! I think it’s compatible and budget friendly, baring in mind I’m not an artist nor do I do hard editing etc

I’d take the gen 2 but since I’m taking notes for class, the USB-C pencil looks appealing because of it’s price
Seems to be a lot of compromises for the price though, better to get the AP2 on sale or find a second hand one tbh
@@User57655 for me, the pressure sensitivity isn’t a big deal. I wish it at least had the tap controls
it is a good price but try to find the second gen pencil at a lower price like 90/100$. I have a usb c pencil that’s pretty much the same as this apple pencil except for the hover feature (its a Zagg pencil) and its great and all and works perfectly for note taking but believe me on this one, you’ll forget to charge the pencil and it’ll take you off guard in classes. It may seem as a little thing or not as important but it does make a difference to always have your pencil charged vs sometimes not having it charged and therefore unusable for 5-10 minutes, it gets annoying eventually. I think the 30$ extra of a gen 2 are worth it for that solely reason of the magnetic charging, its always at full.
just get a 3rd party pencil for $20, dont get the USB-C version, its way too overpriced

It stays paired with whatever device you’re using it on. The only time you have to pair it again is if you switch devices.

yeah the widget called batteries (i think that’s what it’s called) it doesn’t give you a number as far as i’m aware but it shows you how much battery it has with a green ring

I can’t see myself trading my 2nd Gen with touch sensitivity, wireless pairing for this. Touch sensitivity is non negotiable for me.

No, that wont work.
It can actually connect via Bluetooth by attaching it to the side.
Sad it’s not compatible with the 2nd gen iPad Pro 12.9inch but compatible with the 1st 2nd gen iPad Pro 11inch.
This seems like a good solution for the standard iPad, as the Apple Pencil 1 was ridiculous with the 10th Gen. For my iPad Air, I’ll stick with the Pencil 2.

There is a way to use the First gen Apple Pencil with usb-c iPads. And Even the First gen Haus Apple Pencil hover. I tried it 😅😅😅
may this apple pencil is cheaper than 1st gen, but it's no reason to make usb-c version requiring to use cable to paring and charging, the 1st gen pencil just connect directly to ipad and much easier to use

No offense to Zollotech, it is ridiculous how many functions are missing, including a charging cable, for $80. My Samsung tablet came with the fully-functional wireless syncing/charging stylus. I cannot defend Apple when they do this kind of thing.
there are ton sof pencils on Aliexpress with the same capable stuff, they even lack pressure sensitivity and they go for like 10 bucks..... rediculous whar apple is doing
I agree! I use iPad for personal use and Samsung for work (company provides the tablet). I just received the Galaxy S9+ & it came with a pencil for the same price as the 12.9 iPad Pro without a pencil. Smh

Don’t forget that that iPad came with the Lightning to USB C cable, so you could plug it in to the USB C end.

USB-c Apple Pencil and the 2nd gen Pencil have a length difference: the USB-C version is shorter
color me IMPRESSED when you pushed up the charging port and then pushed it back down now if only apple could have this creative thought process in their other products bc this is 10/10 and almost makes me want to upgrade to a new ipad just for the pencil alone :D

no, 10th only. Have to use the 1st gen pencil for iPad 9th gen and older.
I know it doesn’t work, but I wish you would’ve plugged it into the iPhone just to see what it would do other than that great video.

The annoying part is we have to pair the pencil with iPad again and again when it’s time to use also that will cable!!
