It's hard to believe this pen was created with artists being any sort of priority. I do believe what others have proposed - that this is for note-takers while also providing a more attractive and cheaper price to institutions that would purchase iPad and pen combos.
that would explain it, still why didnt they include the shortcut touch button of the pencil 2, something that is a pretty much essential feature for note taking
They may add that tapping shortcut in Apple Pencil USB-C gen 2 for USD 89. lol

I think this is Apple's way to make artists pay more for an iPad Air or Pro with 2nd Apple pencil Instead of an iPad Gen 10 with Apple pencil type c. There’s no way this pencil without pressure sensitivity is a good deal for an artist. Unless you are a student who only takes notes.
I’ve still seen artists making professional art with budget iPad 9 or older with 1st Gen Apple Pencil. And I guess Apple doesn’t want this chance to slide by making the new USB-C of Apple Pencil useless. So Artists would buy the Air or Pro with 2nd Gen Pencil instead.
But who knows if it would make customers who are looking for budget tablet move to another alternative like Samsung or Huawei instead of Apple.
I think this is to just take notes and navigate the OS. Ntn else.. if u want more u have to buy the higher tier pencil

I have an existing iPad 10th Gen, and definitely do not have the means to upgrade to an iPad Pro just yet. 10th Gen means it is not compatible with Pencil 2, and I kept losing Pencil 1 in the couch because it lacked the flat magnetic side to stick to my iPad. Ended up getting the Apple Pencil USB-C after my husband dropped my Pencil 1 when he grabbed my Ipad from the desk, because it rolled off (he also can't see white objects on white surfaces), and basically killed the Pencil 1.
As an artist, I have now resorted to "digital colour pencil" as my current art style and abandoned all hopes of ever doing digital brush work until such time that Apple finally creates a pencil that is compatible with my iPad and has pressure sensitivity. OR until I save up enough to upgrade all my little things to stuff that actually works the way I want them to.

Hello, I bought a Huion graphics tablet, Windows 11 does not support it anymore, but I was happy with Q11K. Do you have any other suggestions other than apple pencil for graphic tablet and stylus sensitivity for use with the iPad 9th generation? I saw the iPad stylus pen on the Huion website. Have you ever used it? Even though I don't have much confidence in Huion, I'm curious.
I think the apple usb-C without pressure sensitivity is about the same as the apple pen alternative, so I chose the $9.9 YEBOS pen, which is great value for money!
Hi, does the Samsung S9 FE or any alternative tabs have the hover cursor brush preview thing that the Ipad M2 having? Like you actually have the custom brush cursor preview when you hovering the pen (brush shape and size), not just the circle thing, including tilting too (I'm really excited when watching you tested the M2 with Procreate!). I'm curious about this as I want to get a tablet mainly for painting and it's important to me that I have control over my strokes precisely. Thank you.
Samsung S Pen has cursor preview almost 10 years ago. As to how the cursor will actually look will depend on the app you use. Some apps allow you to change cursor to the brush shape, some don't.

Hi Teoh, do you use any screen protector on your ipad? I wish to get tempered glass protector but i heard it gonna affect drawing performance (wobble line); i dont prefer matte screen protector because it obviously affects visual quality. So are there any options or combos which will provide me better drawing performance while having my ipad screen protected? Thanks in advance
Glass screen protector may affect the pen performance.
If you don’t like matte, then get the normal thin plastic protector.

@@LucasLiew8344 The original pen tips will be smooth. You can try first and decide whether to switch to silicone pen tips for more friction
@@teohyc may I know which drawing app you using the most? I am trying to find a drawing app on iPad without subscription fee and layer limitation, so far I think only Ibis paint X and Medibang paint are the only two?
@@LucasLiew8344 Procreate is the most popular drawing app on iPad and it's a one time purchase. Infinite Painter is an alternative. I personally prefer Concepts app. Medibang is good too.

No. Connecting one will disconnect the other.

So i finally decided to buy an iPad and went for the iPad Air 5, mainly because it’s totally ridiculous that apple refuses to support the pencil 2 and instead gatekeepes the ipad 10. personally the ipad 10th generation would be for me totally fine but how they handled the pencil for it is just a joke. I had hopes for the usb c pencil as it is at least capable of sticking to the side, but of course apple had to downgrade it. Anyways, i got the air 5 on Black Friday for almost the price of the 10th generation iPad. Still, some decisions are just plain stupid. It’s not that hard to release an Apple Pencil with usb c port and the same features as the pencil 1/2.. they just want to justify the upgrade to a higher priced device..

There's probably some software lock that prevents other companies from doing so. But it's strange that tilt sensitivity is supported though.

@@keisya6545 Just get Apple Pencil 2. When getting Apple stuff, you already know it's gonna be expensive. Samsung tablets with S Pen included are more worth the money
This Apple Pencil is for people who own the iPad 10th generation who have to use an adapter to use it with Apple Pencil 1st generation. The third party options don’t attach to the side of the iPad 10 since their magnet is weak.
This Apple Pencil USB-C also has to use a cable so I don't see the difference.
@@teohontech7141you only need the usb c cable, not the additional easy to loose usb c to lightning dongle
are you kidding? You probably have a limited experience of third party options, some of them have very strong magnets and even charge from the iPads that support magnetic charging...
