Get some cheap burlap or drill fabric and make a shade cloth over the plastic in their coop. Remove it when it starts to get cold so they get sunshine in winter.
We are looking at getting a shade cloth of some sort. We will be taking down the netting when the snow comes or the weight will bring it down.

Yayayay good for you Jason getting that switch fixed.
When ours went out about 5-6 yrs ago, we took it in
to have it fixed, after 375.00 bucks, it works again!
I think they replaced the whole motor, or said they did 🤔
Shew I won’t tell my husband this 😂 cause he might
be mad he didn’t tear into it first. Lol.
Chickens are looking good, enjoying the cool water looks
like. What do ya do for nighttime? We used a homemade
mister (very fine), under a huge tree, of course the chickens
only walked close to it
very few and far between, lol it worked a few summers.
I will still take 100 degrees over cold weather. Lol.
My hubs family lives in Calif, when they have 100 degrees
their humidity is only like 20% when ours at 95-97 degrees
is 90%. Huge difference. But I’ll take it. Lol

Hi Pam!!
We were very happy Jason got the switch fixed. We looked around and the switch was 75-100.00. Chickens are enjoying the cool water on hot days. At night if it is hot in the coop we point the fan in the coop so they get more airflow. We have the front open(with hardware cloth on it and a window to allow for cross breeze but when there is no breeze and high humidity it doesn’t help much. Our chickens are cold hardy so they take the cold better than they do the heat and humidity. Have a wonderful weekend! Take care and God bless!♥️🙏♥️

Nice job making it work. I had to do the same on a vehicle but I just replaced the entire switch unit because 3 out of 4 switches were not functioning
Thanks! It was just the one window that wasn’t working. It would go down but not up! We looked into a switch….close to 100.00!! Online we could have gotten it cheaper but it would have taken awhile to get here!
Never had an issue with crank windows, sure do miss them. :-(

I have crank windows on my 2010 jeep and the driver window crank is broken and they want $200 to fix it.

We love it too!! Hanbleceya means vision quest in Lakota Sioux. We were married on the arm of the Crazy Horse Memorial in South Dakota so we wanted to keep the Lakota Sioux in our journey. The three dogs and cat all have Lakota names too. 😊
