I appreciate it.
Very sad to see the souks with little or no people. Back in 2001-2005 there was no place for you to walk as it was packed with tourists from around the world. After 2006 - Israel war on Lebanon things changed and since then the decline in tourists and economical situation got worse. The country is beautiful. What a pity! Hope peace returns and everything gets back to normal.
I have visited 86 countries and Lebanon is definitely in my TOP 3 !!! Amazing nature, very rich culture and history, very welcoming and friendly people, crazy nightlife and very yummy food (I mean really really yummy) ! Beirut has it all ❤ ❤🇱🇧

missed seeing your comments ♥♥
@@gamerissues9614 I miss Lebanon ♥♥
Many thanks and welcome to Lebanon any time ❤❤
aches my heart to see this part of my city look like a ghost town. When I was in school, going here was like travelling to another country, sadly now everything is closed / void of people...
Greenery/trees everywhere in Beirut. Many different neighborhoods to visit. The pre-war Souks of Beirut looked nothing like the rebuilt Souks of today! One certain company with big money making plans rebuilt the area, that did quite well for a few years, only to crash really bad about 8/10 years ago. Streets are empty because nobody has the money to buy things, can hardly afford to buy food! Younger generations work and live abroad mainly in other Arab/Gulf countries. Huge diasporas also in Canada/USA/France .... Lebanese expats pack the country in the Summer season, less so this year because of the war next door ....... Gorgeous country going through really bad times ... problem very difficult to solve! For first time visitors better have someone to show you around and to take you to the mountains/valleys all over and must see places not to be missed.
It’s just that Beirut souks is so horribly promoted, look at ABC it’s always full and has the same stores like Aishti
a lot of Lebanese in Africa also specialy in senegal and ghana, liberia, and most west africa countries
Nice show... I lived in Lebanon for 17 years.... way back when.... Beautiful country and people
I'm from Ethiopian i love Lebanon ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ i hope Avery things come better very soon.
Another nice Vlog from Beirut, thank you Brother Sly
Great video man, no over the top editing, good old school youtube! Enjoy your trips.
Huge amount of Lebanese in Canada arriving in late 1800’s. US also
Thank you so much Sly for another wonderful video.I really enjoyed it very much 😊 keep em coming !
Nice video dude! Might have been empty because it's Ramadan, and late afternoon. In case you shot the video 11th April or after...
Nah those gentrified areas have always been mostly empty. The city center was rebuilt for tourists and Lebanese expats not us resident Lebanese, which is why it looks so "fancy" (and awful). Back when i was a teen in the 2000s i could never afford to go grab a coffee or food in the city center.
You're one of the best and most informative
I so enjoy your travel videos. Thank you Sly 🌎🌍
Cool video Sly,stay as save as you can my friend .
The Lebanese disapora is significant across the Americas- Mexico, US, Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, etc. Going back centuries and long before the inception of many of these countries.
Both Salma Hayek & Shakira are ethnically half Lebanese.
Beautiful, precise, and informative as usual.
Thanks for visiting Lebanon and making these videos
Thank you for your tour presenting Beirut
Thank u for the lovely video ❤

Amazing country, the food there is so good
Excellent content! Love Beirut.
Excellent job!
Thank you, sir.
I love your videos Sly!
We love you from lebanon 🇱🇧 ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Beirut was and still is the capital of fashion and style in the Mediterranean and I’m not surprised that the Top 15 names in Haute Couture fashion labels are Lebanese.
Nice, visit Batroun sea side, beautiful place
The food in that country is epic.
Love your videos, Can I offer you a tour in Tripoli. You can't miss it, I'll show you around
I haven't seen this man in a long time.. Good to see he still travels. One of the very few humble CZcamsrs, and I mean that positively. Good to see Sly again.
U should go see the mountains they r so nice
watching from sydney 🇦🇺
Very nice, Beirut is beautiful

Beautiful kibe here in Kenya is someone's name 😅 amazing 🤩 one love
Very nice downtown.
Annnnnddd it's packed = a introverts nightmare
Those stores and marketplaces look better than what we have in the u s now
nice 👍
Oh man….i lived in Beirut for 9 years and left in 2020. It breaks my soul to see how downtown is now….it used to be so vibrant and full of people and all stores open and so full of LIFE! Now it just looks so desolate like you said and it’s just sad….but thank you so so much for visiting and for your content!!
That building in the beginning looks to be leaning..
The fifa Futsal world cup will take place in Uzbekistan.
Nice
Yacht Club I think is in Zeitouna Bay (ZAY-TUNA BAY). Went there 2022 and man it is the MOST bougie as you would say
heard the pricing are expensive as the us the us dollar
Sujuk is a spicey Armenian sausage that is worth trying if you get a chance.
Can someone tell me what happened to Beirut souks, i was there in 2013 it was so busy and vibrant, why the stores are closed and where are the people, or he was filming during the weekend or something
My 3 yrs.living in Beirut just prior to the civil war are warmly remembered. Beautiful people, food and country.
i wish i was able to see the lebanese golden age. do u mind telling me how come u came to beirut bfr the war ?
@@carlmoubarak4302 Marhaba Carl! I went (from SF) to teach English at American Language Center and Madrasat al-Ahliah l'l Binaat.
@@francesoosterhuis9337 how was it ?
My experiences were 99% good. The Lebanese people (in general) have a great capacity for enjoying life , from a simple cup of coffee, to an impromtu trip to by 'service to Batrun for a glass of lemonade', to an OTT wedding. Living in Ras Beirut close to AUB, and with language centre students from a great variety of backgrounds, as well as a lebanese flat mate from Saida, I was fortunate to begin to understand the complexities of Lebananese society, and the political hierarchy ( a census hadn't been taken for decades, in order to preserve the status quo). My social network was very mixed. I was under 30 and thought I was immortal! By July 1974, with armed military on roof tops, and the odd tank, and sandbags on strategic corners, sadly, it was time to go. @@carlmoubarak4302
The president or prime minister of the country has a huge effect on the country. The country is an extension or mirror of the authority ruling it.
Our best days were with rafic hariri(whether you like or dislike him)
And our worst days are since 2019 until now (president michel aoun)
15:51 they are all over West Africa too many of them in Ghana
Lebanese diaspora in Mexico fasho 🇲🇽🇱🇧
Im Leb born in Boston. I stick to villages much easier to meet pp, invite you in their homes. Area you covered is most gentrified, stuck-up, self-centered, no Lebanese feel to it. I go to Zahle, Jdeeta next to it, (my family tribe) villages like Kfarneess, Wadee-sitt. Alay is allright. I wish you can carry conversation with a local about their take on economy , culture
Would love to visit Lebanon someday. But your take is on point. It seems Beirut is a wannabe Paris, the way they rebuilt the city seems as though they want to shed the lebanese and look more to Europe, perhaps to invite back tourists. Wish I could visit the places you mention to get the real Lebanon.
how was internet, safety, banking?
Hey, Sly, where have you been these days?
No news from you
like how much things cost there compared to usd ?
Slightly more affordable but don’t go thinking it’s cheap
If u still here in beirut i would take you offroading and let u see snow and our mountains
Seattle sounders is 1 of the 32 teams that will bereceive 50m dollars from fifa for having qualified for the fifa club world cup 2025.
it does look beautiful as fuck ngl
12:28 if you came here 10 years ago it would’ve been filled with people :(
Super sako on youtube.
still in lebanon bro? stay safe
Lol stay safe its the safest place in the world dear

What the hell is this Beirut?? There's hardly anyone there! It's crazy. How awful. But I lived there so long ago, after the end of the Six Day War when I was only 23. I married a Lebanese Muslim in the US; I'm an American. This place you're in now looks nothing like the Beirut that I knew. And no, it's not empty because you went through on a Saturday. It looks like an ugly dead zone, an alternate universe within a lively, diverse city. But thanks for showing us what you saw there.
Where this place in Beirut thank you Australia
The food you got is not really Armenian food. It is Lebanese food inspired by Armenian cuisine and culture, it is common in Burj Hammoud and Mar Mekhael (Saint Michael) area in the suburbs of Beirut, Lebanon.
I dont know why everyone who visit leb must talk abt the civil war but if they visit europe they never talk abt ww1 or ww2 !!!as if thr war only happened in leb !
Go to jounieh batroun jbeil and harissa..go to the north bcharre ehden. Unfortunately after the blast the city is mostly empty except for mar mkhael and hamra…
Which country would be good for me based on your experience and this criteria
1.The U.S. Dollars is very strong
2. Beautiful Traditional Black Women and Friendly Black People
3.Safe
4.Nics Infrastructure
5.No Language Barrier ( English Speaking Country)
5. Good Food ( Natural No Processed Food)
Based on my requirements which country have you been to that checks most or all of these boxes
thank you the videos are very useful
Are you Haitian?
The president of the Dr is off lebanese descentnt.
Looks like some cities in spain
come to batroun
3:34 is called Dolma mate.

Wow.... I was there 10 years ago and you couldn't walk because of the amount of people.. This is so sad to see BUTTT what is beautiful to see, is how the little markets are FILLED with people. PEople are going back to locals shopping :)
You are right Sir
Wondering what is the black population haven’t seen any out shopping. Nice video.
The producer of drake is lebanese.
Shame on Lebanon government for not standing with Palestine for allowing Starbucks Coffee and Zahara store to remain open! Shame on you!
Begging your pardon but Lebanon is one of the rare countries not to have signed a peace treaty with IsraHell and not to bend a knee to their will, even with immense pressure from the European Union AND the U.S. closing a few stores would be petty, WE the people boycott them (which we are doing), and supporting our resistance, voting with your wallet is the strongest thing you can do … let them open whatever they wish, and pay taxes, the people are choosing what they want … that’s the utmost form of democracy.
Zahhar and not “Zahara”, is a local business that belongs to the Zahhar family, not a foreign business, unless you meant Zara then we agree …
@mrarm74 go cry to your mama!
@mrarm74 This is free country i am entitled to my own opinion i am not complaining like i cant sleep at night because of you? Are you gay or something? because i am not!
May God rest his soul.. Solidaire is AlHarriri's legacy.
Thé taboulé is a verrrrry Lebanese salad with borghol inside. It does not belong to others !!!
Borghol is precooked crushed wheat
Take Nothing Personal , but you misunderstood the whole country concept ..Lebanon is not a place to go and reside in one place... it's a small country ... so one day for ( beirut - jounieh - jeitta ) - one day for chouf , one day for ( batroun and byblos and all it's surrounding ) - one day for south Lebanon - one day for baalbek - one day for chowen .... so on ... but definitely you don't spend 3 days in one city !!! ....
It's not Istanbul or London or St. Petersburg or rome ..... !
I stayed a whole week and loved each day. Met fantastic people. One day I went to Byblos. Which was magical.
@@classics39 I loved to hear that you've had good times ... you're always welcome here ❤️
@@Fle-2870 After seeing this video I am working on it.... I know there's so much to see, would also love to do some hiking... still got brochures from last time. So hopefully November, December.. earlier is too hot for me. And I am tied up until June. Let's hope for the best. And best wishes.
@classics39 No , choose from month 4 to month 7 .... this is the best time ... in November you will miss a lot ....
You can't see the snow nor the good pressure of the waterfalls, and you can't swim nor in lakes, or in sea ... so you will be only bounded to cities and maybe forests hiking
@@Fle-2870 I'll keep that in mind....thanks. It's just when I feel the urge to go somewhere then I want to go....
It's better to be reasonable, I'll see how it works out.
Tip: say bonjour instead of marhaba. We rarely use marhaba
You sound really silly here lol
@@ipad2clippssppss I’m being truthful.
You're excellent in your approach bro. I congratulate your truthfulness and pure dedication, and yes we normally say MARHABA like 90% of the Lebanese society. New Sub here, wish I could have met you in Beirut as I have relocated last year to beautiful Istanbul. (It's Merhaba here hahaha) Cheers Mohamed@@Anthony-op5ju
Ahbal
Sorry? We rarely say marhaba????🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Are you okay bro?
Why did you learn nothing about the country before going?
every poor country and city has their rich and affluent areas, im an aussie and i always ask people thats better, to be POOR like literally struggling to pay rent and buy food in a "rich country" or to be rich in a poor country, like not super rich like private jets but rich as in have access to US$ etc... in a poor country like zimbabwe or lebanon or cuba etc... whats better?
Lebanon is not poor and not to be compared to zimbabwe and cuba
He is suffering of an exceptional crisis but he remains a middle-income country
im starting to think your trips are all simulations.
Meh.
Leave the city ,explore outside
Come to Iran, buddy.
It looks like an empty European city with no life. It's kinda sad.
I think it's pronounced MARhaba. Not MarHAba.
We say bonjour in French no one says marbaba
@@Anthony-op5ju They speak French in Beirut or Arabic? I was referring to how the greeting is pronounced in Lebanese ARABIC.
@@tonysmith4091both languages are spoken
@tonysmith4091 both mostly pple say bonjour
But we also say maRhaba . So I don't get why he says no one says maRhaba haha
It is pronounced marhabAAA. The accent is on the last 'a'. More of an extended sound of 'a'. We do not accentuate the MAR or the HA part.
