    If Toni & Candace had seen Fred holding the door open for the women, they would've jumped up on this table & started kicking everything in sight & stabbing people with pencils.

      Brandon Burrows ..and your experience speaks for all? whata whiny little boy you are, thinking men are so hard done by because they dont get the door held for them (which they do, its a universal thing) compared to the abuse women get at the hands of men everywhere.

    • @clairemccloskey2796
      @clairemccloskey2796 Před 9 lety +1

      Brandon Burrows you’re beyond warped pal. also you just contradicted yourself completely by complaining about being “emasculated” -
      emasculate
      ɪˈmaskjʊleɪt/Submit
      verb
      gerund or present participle: emasculating
      1.
      deprive (a man) of his male role or identity.
      Therefore your view would be that IT IS a man’s job to hold a door.
      *eyeroll*

    Feminism is about women being different, but equal. Fred opening the door is a way to show them respect. That doesn't contradict the feminist philosophy at all.

    • @GoatDust
      @GoatDust Před 7 lety +6

    • @solarprogeny6736
      @solarprogeny6736 Před 4 lety +1

      That's not exactly it no. What matters is whether Fred opens the door for everyone or only for women. That would be contradiction the feminist philosophy. If however holding the door is a way to show respect, then of course he should show respect to everyone, not just woman, right? That's what feminism is, treating women the same way men are treated.

    • @Suzanne4415
      @Suzanne4415 Před 4 lety

      There are a few different feminist takes on this... But no, there's no feminist way to spin a man holding doors for women regardless of physical capacity and letting them slam in front of men regardless of physical capacity.Or at least that's some very very fringe version of feminism.
      But honestly, who even does that? The calculation on whether to hold a door or not is complicated enough when you're just factoring in distance, walking speed, if the person has free & functioning hands & arms etc. I think most people (who hold doors ever) just try to calculate those things.

    • @mat5473
      @mat5473 Před 4 lety +5

      @@Suzanne4415 99% of people hold the doors open for everyone in my experience. It's only assholes that let doors slam in people's faces, regardless of gender.

    • @tradtke101
      @tradtke101 Před rokem

      It is anti-feminist for a man to hold the door open for women.
      It is *misogynist* to let the door slam in a woman's face.
      The important thing for men to keep in mind is, you're bad, stop doing everything like that.
