larry is serving me old uncle who doesn't know about gay people
Absolutely. These two sort of breathe fluidity
The way Carrie looks at Fred is 100% the way couple's normally look at each other.
Carrie has/had a relationship with her band mate. Fred is dating Natasha Lyon.
Intent gazing is pretty normal with women who are comfortable with friends who aren't their partner, too. This kind of intimacy is very feminine.
I was thinking that too. The way she smiles as she looks at Fred.
@@junejhunkie Fred and Natasha broke up in 2022 but started dating 2014, around the time of this interview. Carrie and Corin's relationship in the 90s doesn't mean she couldn't have a relationship in 2014 lol. But like 2 years after this interview she gets together with Abbi Jacobson
She’s only ever been linked with women.
This interview is like a Portlandia sketch.
Larry Kings Questions:
Are you dating?
Are you a couple?
you should be dating
Are you in love?
could you two just jump each others' bones right now? please forgive this old horndog
Kevin Harbo haha
Fred & Carrie. Fred plays drums. Carrie plays guitar. They have a mysterious relationship - are they friends, brother and sister, are they married? They are The White Stripes.
Carrie is so beautiful and she seems like she has a great personality.
"Like Judy Garland and Mickey Rooney"....Larry showing his age with those references.
Larry's interview style is more like an interrogation. And he just cuts em off and moves on to the next random question or talks to the camera for a commercial break, it's like the people he's interviewing don't exist, it's all just exploiting the guests for himself, the viewers are who he cares about, not Fred and Carrie.
He's the worst.
He is unusually rude with Carrie and Fred here, especially in regards to their relationship. Apparently, Larry thinks anyone that has chemistry has to be screwing each other...childish.
What are you talking about? He is an institution. He isn’t perfect but it’s his show and he gets to ask the questions and direct the convo wherever he wants
Larry didn't ask if Carrie has a girlfriend tho
It's up to Carrie to say. The idea that a very conventional 80 years old guy has to be the most hip progressive interviewer is ridiculous. The idea that Fred and Carrie can't be in love is also narrow minded.
lol k
@@williesam647 Except...What, Did he expect them to change their minds about each other or what they wanted to share in the interview in between each time he asked and flat out called them liars repeatedly. It was kinda just a joke/gimmick though.
TRUMP 2020
@@kickinwing1103 bad news
I had no idea I liked slam poetry until I saw Carrie doing it. Wow. That was amazing.
I know that I shouldn't be jealous of these two wunderkinds...but I am...perfect lives
@11:24, god the way she's looking at him. How wonderful would it be to have someone look at you that way?
Im in love with Carrie
Wow, she is art
LK doesn't understand what friendship means. Unlikely he was ever a friend to any of his seven wives. (Obviously.) Carrie and Fred are such sweet, tolerant folks. Obviously they take LK with a grain of salt. They see his absurdity, that's how they could survive his inanity and narrowness.
I like how you described this situation. Right on point.
@@CarlosPerezChavez Forgot about this.Went through my Portlandia phase. I need to go through it again. Love Carrie and Fred. Especially Carrie!
25:34 without a doubt the most relatable thing I’ve heard today 😂
Great! Now I love them even more
Wow Carrie looks gorgeous in this. She seems like she has a great fun personality too.
more of a fred armisen interview
Right, kind of the default is eye contact with Fred 😒
I like Larry’s style of interviewing. A lot of interviews have the same rhythm due to the same questions being asked the same way but you never k ow what Larry is gonna day or ask or do and it really creates great answers
But, Larry, Carrie is a lesbian... and so is Fred!
exactly
Carrie is bisexual and so is Fred
The bigger point is that just because you work well with someone doesn't mean you need to be a couple. But look at the source, Larry King LOVES getting married! Hasn't he been married 9 times?
It's frustrating, like when someone finds out you get along with your ex and thinks that means you should get back together.
@@elchasai Fred is? I never knew that I’m a huge Fred armisen fan and I listen to like any interview I can find with him how did you learn that?
@@byHexted it must have been an interview
Wow i am so glad they put the whole episode
at times this interview seems an episode jajajakjkjak ;)
Larry king saying "over sinatra?" with that NY accent was the best part.
Referencing Sinatra, Garland and Mickey Rooney.... that was the makings of a SNL skit right there. Surprised he didn't reference Lucille Ball when asking about women in comedy.
21:28 *question from @kira_yukimura pops up on screen*
Larry: "keery yakacoomo wants to know..."
I LOLed at that one.
Luv Carrie when you have intellect and looks wow
I live in Australia and even I'm pretty sure Portland is not actually near Alaska????...
This interview is so off-putting. Larry king is not a great interviewer which is rlly surprising seeing as its his job. Every time he asks a question ive been tense expecting him to interrupt their answering of it. Really loved their show and wanted to know more about them and it, not hear them have to awkwardly laugh off the accusations of them dating every 3 sentences.
Oh my God I LOVE this
The editing makes the interview seems awkward, but maybe this is how Larry king is and I'm not use to it I never watched him before I am just here because of Portlandia
LK is a master interviewer. I almost feel his style is bad, but come away with the guest happy and I am informed. Strange.
Carrie got nardwaur'd by Larey king about her fake slam poetry lol
I love these guys so much.
"Come on, you two are a couple. Stop this. Stop this!" Great Larry King moment. He's relaxed, having fun, and so are his guests. These are treasured moments that I hope we all are lucky enough to experience from time to time.
Larry is so fucking hilarious. He does not have inhibitions. "You're sleeping together!" Hahahaha
i feel like Carrie and Fred wanted to kill Larry bcz he didnt get anything abt them
I feel like you misread that
You know they're a real couple at 22:43
Carrie Brownstein is my kinda girl.
Larry doesn't align with gay. Carrie has had girlfriends & may still ID as gay. Weird LK's staff didn't know this & apprise him ahead of time. When he asks his questions, I cringe at his lack of knowledge....
+Tracy LF I didn't cringe. This was fantastic. Fred a Carrie, so smooth playing it "straight". LK completely clueless. This is great improv by F and C.
Actually it was entertaining! Haha!
Lol... I cringe at ur overly sensitive comment.
oh c'mon, he's 153
Are there woods outside Portland? WTF? There are woods in Portland.
They were amused in a weird way by this interview and the same time they looked at each other like "when is this going to be over?" LK should just retire though, nothing against him but.... yeah.
Lol watching Larry butcher all the names on the questions from the Internet is hilarious.
Wow I can’t believe she said Pittsburgh lol I wish so bad they would
That was the most inappropriate thing I’ve ever seen Larry King do. That made me cringe.
15:47 😂😂😂😂😂😂
KIRA YAKAKUMA = KIRA YUKIMURA
the look on Carries' face at 20:05 proves that she has had metaphysically had full and complete carnal/biblical knowledge of Freddie
The way Fred asked the question there did sound like how a partner would ask it. Or just a really close friend.
What is it with the older, most, out of touch folks, that they feel the need to strong-arm their very out-dated , outlook on life/love etc. Larry probably told someone earlier that day to .... "pull up your pants" or "no cell phones at the table" and so on and on and on. Gross. Larry. gross.
You can reeeeally tell when Larry likes a guest. Wears it on his sleeve. He didn't like Flea.
Wow. Someone got a RHLSP emergency question read out. Someone tell Richard.
Plot twist there is someone out there collecting passes he has voult full of them for the time when that's the only currency
Amé
It must be the beets!
Still can't believe that these two aren't a couple.
I see Carrie looking over at Fred whenever she answers which unfortunately is also what I do when the interviewer is sexist and looks at the man the most in the interview. A dynamic where you can feel that the interviewer doesn't actually care as much about what you say as what the man says 😒
slithygogs sometimes people also do this when they feel safer talking to the person next to them than the other person (Larry).
Oh women you’re just eternal victims are you not?
He may also perceive Fred as the more famous and/or more dominant one. Carrie may like Fred to lead in these types of interviews.
Kind of a cruelty to this interview; LK must have known that Carrie dates women.
but it would have been funny if when he asked what Fred's hidden talent is she said 'well, he doesn't this thing with his tongue that drives me wild.'
@@jetsamperes5762 she did look down at his crotch area while she answered that question hahaha
21:25 ... Kira_Yukimura
Larry: Ok Kyrie Yakakuma wants to know...
Lol....Larry pretty much "exposes" their relationship halfway through the interview: Fred blushes like crazy XD Larry (with his assorted wives) I guess finds it hard to imagine that platonic relationships can actually work? They love each other and don't want to ruin a good thing...that's the point! We can look at Larry King's SIX divorces (and one "annulment") to see the risks of romance!
17:19 Wow...Larry is just straight-up disrespectful here. There are many people on this planet that never make it into their 30s...there's no rule that says you have to wait until you're nearly-dead to write about your life. Bad attitude, Larry, cut it out!
Cary gets chopped of the interview
They respect each other too much to need to possess each other
I've been watching these Larry King interviews, I just noticed he changes his microphone, maybe to match his clothes.. idk
I love Larry, that would be awesome if he did the show! Wait.... am I late? Did he? Shoot I am, this is 2014.... Dam!
He just cant fathom that they might be gay. dUDEEEE
The way and frequency Carrie looks at Fred is almost, ...almost uncomfortable.
SHOTS FIRED BY LARRY KING AT ITS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA
Vacation movie with these guys the movie
Larry chill out on the relationship stuff, sheesh
it seems like Viacom people aren't allowed to say frank Zappa
Sinatra is good but he didn’t make dig me out
yakakuma
Geez Larry, didya ever have a friend that's a woman? Larry sure gives a rough interview.
this "are you a couple?" approach is really off-putting. if there's a show where romantic entanglements are not at all a priority that show is Portlandia. Argh, what a disappointment
They are both so hot
Yeah I never saw someone come out as lesbian like that but I’m living
Hm.
Watch how Carrie looks at Fred. That sparkle in her eyes. Don't tell me that's _nothing_!
The eight-time husband trying to get people to marry. He was separated from the last one too. That was icky to watch.
14 24
i refuse to believe they're not at least attracted to each other
+Beth Robin she prefers the company of women
And men
I believe he dreams about being together with her and she thinks its pure friendship. And because he knows what she thinks, he doesn't want to say out loud because it would destroy all.
this interview is so bad, lack of any research before the interview and so many assumptions.
bad back research to not know Carrie is openly gay, he comes off as an out of date old uncle at a family dinner . which is sad cos he's a legend interviewer, or maybe he just got the big names and isn't that hard-working researching his guests?
25:30: god what a cutie
Larry: Is it a gimmick to have a woman playing a guitar in your band?
Not trying to disrespect the legendary Larry King, but he was pretty unprofessional and disrespectful in this interview.
He’s being funny
Larry was being super rude to Carrie, pretty obnoxious
This is what I imagine it’s like being interviewed by a functional autistic.
so uncomfortable.
richard herring is fufkin?
This is cringy to watch. It's like watching an uncle talk to his nephew that he hasn't seen in a decade and some girl that was invited over for dinner.
Carrie is a lesbian wth is wrong with larry king
Why is Larry so creepy about their friendship?? Old head
Because he’s from a generation where things are really black and white especially when it comes to male female stuff
Hes an awful interviewer. Doesnt listen to what theyre saying, interrupts constantly, really rude and offputting.
Philadelphia is funny because It's Always Sunny.
Jesus Christ, let em finish their sentences before moving on to another question. Such an overrated interviewer...
This is like nails on a chalkboard... 🤦♀️
Talk about the friendzone... Rarely do you see it so much with the guy keeping the girl in the friendzone so hard though.
Carrie used to like girls. I made her switch to the other team. She loves a strong guy who lets her play guitar after poonani worship sessions with the organic real thing.
