Outstanding video. Even though I have the full Helix Floor, your video was so well done that you gave me the confidence to take mine apart to lubricate the pedal. It squeaks. Bravo!!
Thanks Chuck ! I followed your steps and it worked. Actually, Line 6 customer support referred me to your video !! My LT is a year old (squeaking after 6 months). My construction was a bit different than yours: additional separate bracket holding the inside pedal assembly; no metal washers next to the plastic spacer (and a lot of black paint rubbing on the spacer), and I had a small but significant gouge on the far segment of the bolt where it would go through the spacer-washer assembly. So it seems Line 6 is making incremental changes to this assembly over the years. Anyway - thanks so much for your help !
@@chuckbrand298 Haha! Well, it was a very useful video nonetheless! I ended up loosening the pedal and applying some WD40 because I didn't have any grease.
Its pretty easy to slide out the bolt without having everything fall apart just have to be careful. I found some automotive silicone paste since its all I have. Squeak is gone but its not as smooth, I'm going to buy some of the lithium grease and redo it.
Jonah Paz I have had no issues with mine. Seems pretty solid. It sounds amazing. You will need to get FRFR (PA type) speaker. It doesn't sound very good with a tube amp. If you want to keep your pedals and amp, look at the Helix HX Effects. All the same effects minus the amp models.
Haha actually I do not have an amp that good, But I had 7 amazing pedals in total. I want this because of the amps and the effects. I just sold most of my pedals in order to get the Helix LT. I still got my wah. But I think I'm not going to sell it because I prefer to use my wah instead of the wah (expression pedal of the helix LT) in order to make it last. Maybe I'll just use the expression pedal of the helix LT a bit as a volume pedal or another effect that I would't use as much as a wah I've seen a lot of complains about it.
Chuck Brand thank you for posting this video. Is the Lithium grease safe on plastic. Someone on another site suggested silicon grease because the lithium grease contains petroleum and will deteriorate plastic after time?
I would NOT use WD40. Use a light grease. White Lithium grease is good. You can find it at any auto parts store and probably at Walmart. It's not very expensive. WD40 could possibly run into the electronics and other parts.

Awesome! Glad it helped! 👍🙂
Thank you! I use the expression pedal all the time for volume swells. This video was a lifesaver.
You're welcome! Glad it was useful....
Thanks man! I finally found the courage to open up my beloved Helix LT. Did exactly what you said, could not be happier! Subscribed!
You're welcome! Glad it worked. I've had my Helix for 4 years now. I've had to do this about once each year.

Very good. Thanks!
I didn't know it was legal to post videos at 240p. But anyways, thanks for the info!!
Sorry if you had trouble viewing. I didn't realize that it was that low. I hope the video quality police don't see your comment...😂😂🎸

Thanks for the info. I like to separate everything and clean all the parts, but hey! If it works, it works.
Great vid. Thanks!
Thanks Shannon. Hope it was helpful.
Bravo!
Thanks for the video. I used Silicone Spray, works wonders!

Hi Chuck! what size allen key do you use to loosen the pedal?
I believe it is a 3/16". Just checked... Yes... 3/16".
@@chuckbrand298 thanks so much!!
thanks
You're welcome.
I want to buy that pedal in some weeks but recently I have heard that the expression pedal of this unit broke easily. What do you think about it?

I've seen a lot of complains about it.
My expression pedal broke after 5 months of use.

@@CEJM12345 I think either would be fine. So far, I haven't had any problems with the lithium grease.
mine broke. they replaced it. now my replacement is squeeking and will probably break I thinl
Bummer... If you keep it lubricated, it should be fine. Also, make sure it's not too tight.
Can you use wd40 too?
