My favorite Dusty finish was Cody’s conception.
Well that's disgusting.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. That's funny as hell !!!!
LOL, I was trying to come up with a Dusty finish joke and drew a blank. Well done.
Bazinga
I can't deny, that's brilliant 😂
Don’t get me wrong the current wrestling reviews and news reaction is hilarious but when Jim talks about the good ol days and his experiences during his career it’s the best content
I'm so happy that those books are in good hands and weren't burnt or stolen. That's real history right there
I always found the treasures show hilarious, a billion dollar company going to some superfan’s house and ripping him off for his memorabilia, trading a 15000 dollar jacket for a chance to have Mick Foley on your couch for twenty minutes or something similar 😂
They’re so damn stingy to the point that the collector ends up loaning the memorabilia for absolutely nothing.
“I’m pants less. He’s fucking on top of me.” Laughed long and hard at that one.
He also said, " He's hammering me"😂😂😂
Kinky
“Then gets a double hand choke on me”
Lol, wrestling is so gay sometimes
“He jerked him off the top rope!” was called by announcers frequently in the 80’s lol
As an awkward and shy youth, watching Dusty helped me gain verbal assertiveness and confidence, although for a while people did look at me funny when I called them "Nature Boy" Ric Flair and yelled about Friday night in Greensboro.
4:35 to quote Davey boy: he wasn’t even there!
Jim's best asset is his historical mind. Ive always said He should do a book on how to book and do angles. No such book exist in pro wrestling.
Meltzer is actually superior in historical knowlwdge
@@unknownkingdom gaF
@@unknownkingdomSaid no serious person on Planet Earth, ever.
@@yoholmes273 Jim himself has said so
@@unknownkingdom hahahahaha. What a joke. Do you have another
What I would like is for Jim to actually write a book on booking/promoting etc. I know we have a lot of course in the podcasts however just don't want his wisdom on booking, producing and running a wrestling company go to waste. And would be good to have it all in one place.
That would be freaking dope.
THIS is why I subscribed to Cornette's CZcams page. The history. That's what I want. I don't care as much about his take on modern wrestling. Sometimes it's good, but mostly... It doesn't matter to me. I watch wrestling now, I want to hear of the history.
❤ so true I do agree with you on that one but also him comparing the present to the past I try to listen to every single episode or clips because of how Jim corrnet talks no matter what is happening at the moment he brings up the past
One more thing can you imagine if dusty rhodes was here and had a podcast as well can you imagine how entertaining that would be
💯
Somebody should give Tony Khan some of the Dusty's books. Maybe it'll help them out!!⁉️👍
The thumbnail. LOL. These really do need to be made into a book.
I would be 1st in line to buy it. Great idea 💡
They can't, they'd need permission from every single person Travis has drawn.
@@Cruising_On_Lake_Havasoma They wouldn't need permission, it's parody. You don't need permission to legally market a parody.
@@MiketheratguyMultimedia Fair use parody is how they get away with doing them here, but actually trying to make money off the thumbs directly might be a different story. I'm not claiming to be an expert on the matter, but I feel like if Travis could monetize the artwork he would be, because there's certainly a demand. Every single clip Corny posts has at least one comment talking about buying it.
@@Cruising_On_Lake_Havasoma I can't say with certainty (I'm no lawyer either) but my understanding is that parody with the intent to provide commentary, satire, etc., can be sold. It's like Weird Al's musical parodies, he only asks for permission as a courtesy. Since he's changing the words for the purpose of mockery he's able to profit from them.
Sheesh, imagine hearing 12:16 out of context 😂
😂
There's a great ROH Secrets of the Ring shoot with Dusty going thru his 1987 book including the Starrcade card. He also addresses the UWF talent situation. Highly recommended.
I would love it if Roddy Piper's family released a scrapbook collection of his notes and ideas.
I could listen to this for hours!!! I love hearing about how they did booking back in the day. Especially Dusty stuff. I didn’t want this to end. lol I’m thankful Cody is who’s, and where he is…. No school like the old school
Still love William Regals first meeting with Dusty Rhodes. If you don't know, look it up.
On Rib Shot 😂😂
A pint in the pub with regal 😂😂
Dusty Rhodes naked wearing only his boots. 🤣
@@MrSpeed-lt8grlooking like a bowl of melted ice cream😂
"I'm like Whitney Houston, I've got ma own bodyguard"
Priceless to marks worthless to regular people.
12:17 - 12:27 - I promise you someone's going to isolate that part.
Some of the things I would love to have that show find are the notebook Savage made for his match with Steamboat at WM 3 & Elizabeth's dresses.
Fun Fact: At the Eddie Graham Memorial Show the Road Warriors had their spiked vests stolen which lead to them switching to the spiked shoulder pads.
Wow I had no idea that is why they switched up their ring gear
Anybody seen the animated version of Steve Regal talking about his first meeting with Dusty in WCW on Rib Shot ?
“Ah you bastard.” 😂 that was pretty funny. I assume Brian doesn’t have contempt for Corny but that line delivery was too good to be acting.
The Bayfront Center in St. Petersburg, Florida, could seat about 8,600 people for concerts or wrestling. Great old venue. Opened in 1965 and demolished in 2004.
Also home to various indoor soccer, ABA, CBA and minor league hockey teams.
Just came for a Dusty finish reference.
Ok. Well, here’s one…
“My fav dusty finish was…Cody”
Ewww that’s long term booking have a baby 35 years later champ that’s how you book bruv
That's how much of wrestling history Cody knows. He grew up seeing those booking books filled with information fans would dream to see. No wonder he is who he is.
I love this stuff.
It’s not rocket science, baby
“Oh you bastard” at the end make me giggle. 😂
The best thing about cornette podcast is no Conrad Thomson
As an Australian I actually can't figure out the linguistic evolution to sound like that guy. Did go after Jim Valley for his Dave simping the other day though.
Amen
@@joshuaolsen5125that's what a good Ol' boy from Huntsville, AL sounds like. That's an old South accent. Mostly gone these days
Cornette wouldn’t put up with Conrad 😂😂
@@jtaco4101almost every accent in the affluent English speaking world can be derived from a combo of UK and Irish accents. That is one of the few exceptions. The evolution of language is a strange thing.
The florida tag team champions on the eddie graham memorial show may have been steve armstrong and tracy smothers instead of steve keirn and stan lane
Two of my favorites...Neil Diamond and Jim Cornette!
I'd buy the pickle jar
I love that Jim cared enough to promo his own match everywhere he could for 3 weeks to get it over. Most people can't even promo their own match on TV with all of the audience watching and people still don't go see it...
Really wish there was some historical society dedicated to scanning and digitizing all this historical wrestling stuff. That way all 50 people in the world who are super into it could look it them right in their living room.
I recently saw that someone has Vince Sr’s WWWF booking book from 1963. Dude said that it was saved from the garbage, which is crazy because that’s the year Bruno won the WWWF heavyweight strap for the first time.
I had just posted that one day Shane would be on that show with Vince Jr.'s books And TV sheets. You know he has them in that warehouse somewhere.
I don’t know why but the history of things fascinates me and the history of professional wrestling is just as amazing. Corny and Brian feel the same as me. Love the stories of wrestling.
100% agree love the history of professional wrestling & I could listen to Jim & Brian talk about it all day.
Its wild to hear these names & I can just reach out & touch them. Yet I'm 43 & it was so long ago. Time really does fly.
I wonder what Tony Khan booking book looks like . Lmao
Duth-tey Readth -- no thtory endth!
12:13-12:30
These are the best when he recaps the old stuff. I remember that fireball angle too with Garvin. Never knew that it was booked like that so he could get "suspended" to go on his honeymoon. That's great.
Lasertron = Hector Guerrero in a mask and outfit.
A few people have said it here, so I'll throw my hate in as well.
Jim, you need to qrite a book on how to book and do angles, the different kinds of heat and how to get them (or not as the case may be), etc.
finally one not about the current stuff (especially aew reviews)
Travis outworks himself every time🤣🤣
READ MY BOOKS MARK!
Never forget that the Italian Stallian won a spaghetti eating contest in Bluefield
One day Shane is going to have Vince's books on that show....
It would read like marquis de sades autobiography.
The title already has me cackling
The non-aew content on the podcast does rampage numbers.
Gotta go to the pay window baby
I'm imaging Dusty scratching it out biting his tongue
Treasures so valuable that they're not really worth our money at all!
I am starting to think hhh is trying to get jim via subliminal messages
Travis does it again with the artwork. LMAO
I love this legacy stuff. Historic tomes.
I wonder if Tony Khan EVER writes anything down ?
Leo Burke gave me a pair of his boots years ago, my buddy is making a case for them, i'm a very happy camper!
Is this a repeat? Same with mama Cornette story.
We want Jim Cornette on Bill Watts' Booking Books
8:58 AEW Big Business drew 9000+ crowd
How in the world did Dory Jr ever agree to lose to Mike Graham??
Each Dusty booking book is probably worth $12-15k and double it for the important major years when he was head Booker or on any type of committee. Those books are part of legitimate *wrestling history.*
$5k ppfftttt.
How was Stan Lane on both cards? And why would he be a Fab in Florida when he already joined the Midnights back in March?
Im only listening in hopes of Jim doing another Dusty impersonation.
When I heard the price they valued those at, I'd gladlt pay more than that.
I hope Khan was paying attention 😂
In before Tony Kahn buys that book and applies it to Orange Cassidy and the Bookstooges
It's Wrestle Picker's.
12:18 mark…what did you say???
I feel like those books are in good hands
9:08-9:11. Is it just me or does jim do all this math in his head a rapid pace. Not saying i have never notice but jesus.
That's how they taught math in the old days, hell I was in primary school between 97 and 2001, and even I was taught to calculate stuff in my head.
If you're visually oriented it's relatively easy.
He's detail oriented so that helps too.
It's basically $10 a ticket so it makes it very easy
@@harishsubramanian1241 i know . I'm also old school and was taught that way as well but technology of course has ruin that ability for me lol thank God for smartphones and calculators
Greetings 😂
Jim is pants less and he get on top of him and hammer and gets a double handed choke. Lmao
Talk about the learning tree, would Dustin Rhodes be a good booker for AEW, He was raised by the best. Just saying.
Way to go, TRAVIS 😅
Bussy Rhodes
I’m just waiting for Jim’s take on Swerve getting beat down AGAIN & the announcement of Elite vs, FTR, Danielson, & Kingston.🤣🤣🤣
He's gonna do a big heavy sigh
Focus we are here for history
Does the term “booking” and “booker” literally come from the fact that they wrote it all in a (note)book?
I can't wait for the episode where they "discover" the makeup used by DX when they impersonated the Nation of Domination.
"You hear that?! The brotha smacks himself down!!"
I've always wondered what Booking Books would look like (outside of the WWF) and I was surprised they still make these sort of At-A-Glance books, and that's all it was.

Dusty didn’t book Dustin to marry Terri 😂
????
this is a very fascinating story thanks guys 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Emoji spamming piece of shite.
When Cody retires, he should edit Dusty's book to remove stuff he doesn't want to share and then publish some of them.
Ummmm no he shouldnt
@@Snakeman612 And why not?
I'd say leave everything in the book.
@@northofnashira2575 Either don't release the books with stuff you want to hide and/or release the ones with nothing you'd want to hide.

Dusty didn’t book Cody to marry Brandi 😂
Dusty used to refer to Cody as his 'daughter'. Make of that what you will.
You sure about that?
Sweet Sapphire was infinitely more talented and entertaining to watch than brandi will ever be.
Dusty's number 1 booking priority was to get Dusty over. When he wasnt booking himself he was a midcarder. That's all young folks need to know.
12:16-12:28…… pause

Jim, you should book Dusty to talk about his booking books and book it in your book and tell Brian to book it in his book while criticizing Tony Khan's booking
It was just lame episode
these guys will find anything to talk about other than things that are relevant. Backlash has positive feedback and they will take 100 years to talk about it. If it's negative they will have it next day.
Can you and Brian put the podcast up like a video recording like Bishoff and fat Conrad do, so we can see your expressions? Thanks
No they wont
Cornete stops me from doing things I can't talk about obviously after settleing down at Wendy's of course 😊
I was today years' old when I knew Jim Cornette was a wrestler
IF YOU LOVE CORNY AND BRIAN GIVE ME A HELL YEA. PS CONRAD THOMPSON SUCKS
I book a money drawing main event at WrestleMania some how we get a four way match between rock Roman Cody Brock lesnar for the title in a hell in a cell were retiring Brock and rock in this match one way or other torn quad rupture disk 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wonder why Cody and not Dustin has all of Dusty's stuff/
Dusty was on the road when Dustin was young, he settled in Georgia when he had his second family so that's where all his stuff is.
