Due to my Calculations you are correct, as you can see at the clip, after it saw the little robots running away he looked at the opposite direction and pointed its buzzsaw at it as a threat while trying to back up at the same time because it knows how dangerous the robot is.

And the little bots only fled when he looked at them, meaning he most likely told them to flee. And if you look at when the houses are being assimilated, the saw appears to be attacking the main mass, meaning it's still fighting.
I think saw boy managed to be free by becoming the flying bug at the end because the head is like saw boys ones

Seeing this as a child and seeing this as an adult sure are 2 different experiences, one is scared and can't sleep at night, the other is impressed and loves the concept and art. This song did fuck up my brain as a child for a week or so but now it has no effect on me, really cool :D

I personally think the song is about the effects of free thought on a "caged" mind. The robot society is one that looks outwardly happy, but static, unchanging: Robots are built for their tasks, which they perform for the extent of their 'lives' without any thought to being something else. They live in a utopian lotus-eater machine, ceaselessly doing the same thing day in, day out, unaware of their own stagnation.
Then, by accident, the "Eater" robot comes unplugged, breaking its illusion. It not only experiences a will for the first time, but its first sign of self-improvement. It intends to continue improving itself, but it can only do so by challenging all that it once believed, and the beliefs of others, demonstrated by its consumption of anything in its path and "evolving" even more.
By the end, the Eater has destroyed everything it once knew, only becoming inert when it has become too big to move, and wraps itself in a cocoon, eventually metamorphizing into an entirely new creature entirely, which, free of its old dogmatic ways, takes to the skies and leaves the ruins of the city behind, which are all that remains of the old ways it once blindly followed.

I just watched the 1991 film 'Soujin Z' and a piece of its soundtrack reminded me of this song.
I don't know if it was the influence for this song and this video, but that movie was about a robot that went quite haywire, eats up other pieces of technology, and mutates into a blob. Quite like our fellow here.

Found this after exploring some of David Firth's videos. Great video. And to think it all started with a natural glitch in the environment messing up the order of events. You can also see that the robot is completely disconnected to whatever system it was apart of previously due to the signals on the antennae disappearing at 0:25.

In the video, at first we see a seemingly utopian world full of sentient robots. Then we see one robot devouring some smaller robots before eating the machine that made them. That robot goes on to devouring everything in its path before 'pupating' and turning into a robot fly and leaving the destruction it made. I think it's a metaphor on greed and society. It took all those robots working together to create the utopia, but it took just one robot to destroy it. No matter how close we can come to creating 'utopia' we never can because there will always be someone who is unhappy; someone who wants more. As long as one person is like that, our attempts will always be stopped. There is no one 'utopia', there is only the illusion of one.

I feel its of great significance that it initially was an accident tho. The litle robot couldnt get the yellow light to go on. the big robot was supposed to eat the light, sending it down the tube.But he wasnt watching the little robot, and accidentally ate him.
Yea, it subsequently seems to figure out how to use the arm on its back, an arm which is very similar to the robot it just ate. It also seems a bit shocked, like it just had some kind of revelation, and disconnects. So I feel like it represents going overboard to the point of destruction with a new discovery, which is a pretty prevalent occurrence in humanity.
Take a second to honor the tree cutter that kept the beast at bay for a few seconds so his tiny Droid companions could escape

One day i was watching CZcams videos with my 5 years old son, this video appeared on the recommended videos section
and he asked me to play it. He told me that he had already seen it before and that was one of his favorite songs.
I'm a musician and i like things like Kendrick Lamar and Thundercat so i supposed that's why the algorithm showed him this video before.
I already knew Flying Lotus before my kid's birth but i didn't listen to him recurrently so it was a big surprise for me that he liked his music.
I like to think that maybe, even at his age, he pleny understands the meaning of music...
That makes me love him even more.

Hats off to the buzz saw robot who died defending his small cute branch grabbing friends against the evil robot. he may have made the evil robot harder to defeat but he showed the only sign of bravery throughout the whole video in his attempt to stop it and to think it all started because one stupid robot did not know how to flip the lever on the light bulb mushroom
