What I love most about this is how it showcases digital animation. Digital animation often gets unfairly maligned when compared to classical animation. Here we can see the use of blur and distortion effects to beautifully accentuate many of the movements and actions, while colour math helps give the pond water a wonderful murky appearance. It's a composed and assembled so seamlessly to achieve visuals that conventional animation wouldn't be able to accompish.
Also, you got to love the showcase of Australian wildlife. Marsupial representation ✊!

Maybe the spiders had seen so many star voices stolen by the witch that it wanted to help the frog get a new one out of sympathy, so it tried to have it go to the stars at night to eat a new voice, which is why it waited till it was almost nighttime.
