This isn't the only way to do it.
It's probably not the best way to do it.
But it's how I did it. - Věda a technologie
Ordered a Cheap Yellow Display. Winter is coming and I need a project or 2.
Nice, relaxing mailbag. Thanks
Yea!! it's Monday the Start of the week🙂
I'd love to see a video on the cheap yellow displays from you!
I'm waiting until after Brian does the one he is planning.
After that I'll see if there is any ground he didn't cover.
Thanks pileofstuff.
One project I always wanted to do was make a remote control for an analog stereo. With that radio gear that could be possible. Put gears on the volume and tone pots and have a motor turn them.👍
The mini ratchet set will be useful.
If you used an ESP32, you could control the volume using wi-fi, BlueTooth, or infrared. Also, ditch the motors on the pots and use i2c digital potentiometers.
@@andrewkieran8942 That's far too easy.
@@frankowalker4662
No, it just sounds easy. The devil is in the details.
@@andrewkieran8942 I have a really nice early 80's tereo. I want to keep it looking and working the same but with remote function. So I've always thought RF radio gear with motors. easy. (ish)
That ratchet screwdriver thing is very handy if you need it for a tight space. I bought a very similar one a few years ago to remove a panel on my dishwasher door that was right next to the wall. It did a good job even on the larger screws and have found some more usage for it afterwards.
I ordered three of those displays right after that podcast. Thanks to Brian's code I was able to get up and running really quickly and had my first completed project the same day I started. Those things are great.
I have that same ratcheting screwdriver. I can't say I use it everyday but when you need it, it is perfect.
The cheap yellow display (CYD). 😅
Good Monday haul, the soldering iron is of interest, seems a bit pricy but will wait for the revue.
Usually pronounced as "Kale"... like the eatable stuff :)
youtube wants to show a just released repair video on a faulty Kaiweets st600y multimeter from Marcus Vidovich
Pinecil ftw 😊
you could open your own radio shack!
Would be great to have him as a neighbor. His stash must be incredible! I'm waiting for Ali to contact his as a supplier.
ESP display module ordered! 👍😀
You hit the buy button quite quickly!
You're not the only one, too bad it's resistive, not capacitive screen.
@@kjur18 I am sure there is a "Reasonably Priced Display."
At this price, I can live with resistive.
@@GnuReligion There are "other versions" of this board, bigger display (4,3" 480x270), ESP32 S3 (native usb support and some more) and even some additional PSRAM. Both capacitive and resistive versions, even the most expensive IPS version with higher resolution (800x480). But there are some negatives, for example all of them use RGB interface, so much more pins are in use, and I think that PSRAM might be not present at all. Only Wroover modules have PSRAM inside, WROOM modules don't. And all of them use WROOM modules.
All sorts of interesting stuff.
Would be fun to make a DIY keyboard. Am afraid that, with SMD switch sockets, it would be a nightmare to align 100 keys to my OCD satisfaction.
How will the KETS02 stack up to a TS100? Interested viewers want to know!
Ill be putting it through its paces in a week or 2.
OCD, I know what you're talking about. Ugh
