    IMPORTANT! Don't forget to:
    1) paint it with a protective lacquer after soldering, or
    2) coat it with some alcohol-dissolved colophony/resin before soldering, which doubles as flux, or
    3) tin all traces with solder.
    Otherwise the bare, exposed copper traces will oxidize with time, their resistance will increase and it may cause a lot of weird issues due to voltage drops.

    Very nice, if you were added uv mask, it would look professional, also can i do the same thing, just instead of using toner transfer method, im gonna use uv film?

    I had a thought. Would it make sense to drill the vias before etching? That way you might avoid liftoff of copper if your second side is a small copper ring after etching. Also, it would ensure that your print is 100% aligned.
    Also, instead of visual alignment, the via holes could be made to be alignment holes as well, so no eyeballing the print through light would be needed..

    Nice. How much time in the etch bath? You showed 3 or 4 clips. How long did it take?
    And where can i get a drill and bits like you have with the proper size bits? I think you has .3mm bits?

    • @ElectroRetro
      @ElectroRetro  Před 11 měsíci

      The etching process typically requires a duration of approximately 15 to 20 minutes in my experience. However, it should be noted that when reusing ferric chloride, the etching time may progressively lengthen. Enhancing the agitation of the container during etching can assist in reducing the overall etching time.
      The drill bits were purchased from a nearby electronics store. Alternatively, one can acquire them through online platforms. The specific drill bit showcased in the video has a diameter of 0.5mm.

    Buy yourself an electric jigsaw and a metal saw, it will be much easier to cut textolite. Even better than on a minicircular saw.

    Good morning, first of all, I would like to say that the tutorial with double-sided PCB was great. Could you put a link to the paper you used, as in the video it seems that the side where the laser printing goes is the shiny side? And if this paper is adhesive? Sorry for so many questions but after so many mistakes making PCB printing, watching your video was a salvation at the end of the tunnel. Thank you very much in advance.

    Do you flip the board when etching? I only did one-sided-pcbs until now and Iam wondering if I have to change my etching methode for double sided pcbs?

    • @ElectroRetro

      flipping the board is good to evenly etch the board.

      @ElectroRetro  Před rokem

      10 min is too long. It won't take that long. You should replace your drill bit or you can use a mini rotary tool.

    Please never use any type of scrubber to clean pcb.
    You will get super clean pcb by
    1. Clean it with soft sponge and dish wash liquid (to remove oil and dirt films)
    2. After drying with clean cloth,
    " use plasto pencil eraser " and rub the copper clad
    You will get it super cleaned.
    3. Never touch copper side again with bare hand.
    Try and reply me.

      Will result in better toner adhesion
      I used white plasto eraser (used to correct pencil )
