Astroneer really needs to work on their tutorials, cause I was so lost when I started this game I almost deleted it, it seemed like it barely had any content, but your walkthrough's really showing me a lot!

The main issue with the game I have it that it can get really grindy and tedious sometimes like if your looking for an ore and you just cant find it and you just spend hours looking for it

Idk man he has some sort of industrial style that slows him down. Some of the parts are skipped in the video but in this time frame you can get even more stuff done , he just walks around the mines saying "I don't need that" but he does. He should all take the compound and resin he sees so that he is prepared for building and while doing this take some bytes not just take some bytes. For me, focusing for the first 1-2 hours on only bytes is just not efficient, and that road at the begging of the game when you don't have any rovers prepared for packing up research items it's just not useful. This is however a sandbox so you can choose your own playstyle. You can't go wrong in Astronner.

I started a new game yesterday, and I spawned entirely surrounded by ravines with no resin anywhere even remotely close to my start. It took me around 10 minutes just searching for resin, although I found one piece in my ravine, but the rest of the vein was cut off.
I was the opposite, I couldn't find compound! Lol

I just found out that the base cuts all your power in half, at least on xbox, I only use it early game till better power up and running. (Splitter readings)

Am I the only one that missed the windstorms? Sure at times they could be a PITA, but overall I prefered having them as opposed to not.
John Patz OMG I miss storms so much, they were such a fun challenge u had to prepare for, and I love be a mile away for my base seeing a storm head towards it and being like “by rover “ or anything else that wasn’t tied down
@Thomas Sager Man, just started playing again today after a year, and surprisingly I noticed their absence! I loved them, having to run to your lifepod and watching loose resin get flown about. I just kept wondering when I would get hit, until my suspicion that they were gone was confirmed :(

They should make a weather update, to add specific weather patterns to each planet. Dust storms on Calidor, whiteouts on Glacio, etc, some new items that can predict weather. I think that would be really cool.

Navigation or finding your bearings in Astroneer is pretty easy actually. All the alien transportation nodes are situated directly below the galactic center (the band of stars above you in the sky). The only deviations from those are the nodes at the poles. I know you are pretty psyched finding one of them at the north pole but I can not recommend building a station at those polar nodes because they are in perpetual darkness (or nearly so with very short days) and are pretty useless for solar power and to see your base in general. Just build a base along one of the equatorial nodes and if you are lost on your journeys, just keep going until you are directly under the galactic band and then follow it until you reach the node you built your base at. I never use the compass, because this type of finding your bearings is more accurate and makes the compass pretty much useless. I never got lost again using this type of navigation because all I need to do is to walk along the band above me until I reliably stumble upon my base (and it is always the same for every planet). So, my advice is: Always build your main base on any planet near an equatorial node (very close to it; makes it also easier to get resources from other planets to a specific base); you will have maximum daytime for solar this way and you will always find your base again regardless how "lost" you are on your journeys.

Hey Z, you can put the printer on a side of platform B, rotate the printer to be facing out of the platform, and it will be perfectly lined up.

Astro never looks so different then it used to look I’m exited
I think they made it easier to start and find it now. Or you get a full ravine world. Its so different than when they first released the game and even my later saves when I perfected it. Storms, randomly unlocked research items- don't miss that. Enjoyed the game play. Fun to see how others played.
you can use the key to quick store items in your bag to hold medium items in your hand, do the mission first to get the bytes you need before entering caves

What do you personally consider a good startup? Near to gateway? Presence of different resources nearby? Terrain?
PS How you don't lose your way in the caves is beyond my comprehension

For storage I don’t use resources, I just use the surrounding to make a hole and store resources

I prefer series like this where the person actually knows what their doing in advance. It means I don't have to sit through the tutorial and stuff and the person gets to the good stuff of the game really fast.
