ChatGPT and Bing chat have been upgraded since the last time I asked AI to make redstone for me, and Google Discord and Snapchat have all made their own AI chat bots too, so I decided to find out if they can do redstone now :P

Obviously the discord bot wins because it didn't claim to know how to do something it doesn't know how to do, and when it did explain how to do something, it got it right. Accuracy over quantity, always
I think discord bot could give a guide about how to build the other ones, purplers just asked if he could build it, he didn't ask if the bot could give him instructions on how to build it.
The discord bot meant to say it literally cannot just hop in Minecraft and build Purple a redstone build.

I think the problem here was how you structure your prompts (especially in the clyde example). Dont ask them to do things for you. Ask them to give you a step by step guide on how you can do that thing instead.

most of the companies making AI don't want it to do that, though, because they want it to be this generalized assistant, search engine, writer, coder, etc. all at once. it has to be the best AI ever, capable of doing everything, because if it's not then the investors might not give them as much money, and if it can admit that it's wrong then that means it can be wrong in the first place.
it's all very silly. at least discord managed to train an AI that recognizes it should respond to certain strings with "sorry, i can't do that"

For the bing ai it’s referring to the tnt canon where the tnt will be dispensed by the dispenser and the slime block and sticky piston will send it flying.

To be fair, Bard actually did technically tell you how to build a minecart station. It just didn't know you meant that you wanted a simple system that can stop and start a minecart depending on the power status of the rail(s).

I have found that sometimes when you reword the question, ai will usually comply. Sometimes it takes questions extremely literally. So finding a way to reword the question such as how the Discord one kind of changed up its response for the door.
Yes, I personally think that ai are akin to instinct, and the part of us that isn't instinct is just struggling to use instinct to it's advantage.

I've just asked Clyde and he's given me a way to make a tnt launcher. Clyde's prompts for questions have to be kinda specific cause he's weird like that.
Here's what he gave me btw:
1. Gather the materials: You'll need blocks, redstone, a redstone torch, a lever, and TNT.

- Pour water into the back of the cannon. At the bottom of the "U" shape, place the water to form a channel from the back of the cannon all the way up to the slab. This is what will move your TNT forward when you place it later.
- Place a switch on the back-left and back-right blocks. These switches will function as your cannon's triggers. Leave the middle block blank. You won't put anything here, especially not redstone.
- Place a line of redstone from the left switch to the end of the left fork. The line of redstone should go all the way up to the last block, including the one you placed on top of the final block on the left side.
- Place a line of redstone from the right switch up to the second-to-last block. The line of redstone must go all the way up to the block that comes before the block that's touching the slab. The redstone line should essentially extend the length of the water channel.
- Place a TNT block on the slab. This will be your projectile.
- Place up to four TNT blocks in a line behind the slab. These TNT blocks can go all the way back to the second-to-last block of water, but **the source water block must remain**.
- To fire your cannon, flip both switches at once or use a button instead of a lever for one side. The TNT blocks behind the slab will explode first, pushing your projectile forward. Then, after a short delay, your projectile will explode as well.
