@Jakub Michalak-Palarz Song was written in XIX c. when there wasn't even Poland. And song itself was written by polish-ukrainian composer. This song is a beautiful example of polish-ukrainian unity in past and this friendship is worth to be cultivating today :)

Meanwhile I didn't realise that the song talks about a girl even though it repeats "dziewczyna" many times and it's one of the words I know. :/ Polish is hard.
I am American, but I grew up with a traditional Polish grandpa and mother and was raised always being told we were polacks lol, but I am very proud of being Polish. The language died in my family after a few generations and only a few cuss words like gówno and pierdolić remain. But I wanna reintroduce the language in my family and I now know this song by heart and can pronounce all the words just fine lol so I am one step closer! 🇵🇱 Also all luck and best wishes to my Ukrainian brothers and sisters out there, please stay as safe as you possibly can.
I'm doing the same in my family my great grandfather and great great grandparents are from Polska and I've been learning the Languge and traditions and food too.
@Coopun It was common for immigrants not to teach their native language to their children once they came to America, especially if they were born in America after they came over like my 3rd Grandfather who's parents came over from Poland but taught him little Polish and similarly with my 3rd Great Grandma who didn't know much French despite her parents coming from France. Also the words for mother and father in Polish are Matka (Mother) and Ojciec (Father). Have a nice day!
Poland is immortal thanks to the blood and sacrifice of Polish Saints/Martyrs such as Saint Maximilian Maria Kolbe, Captain Witold Pilecki and many others. As for Ukraine, the Ukrainians unfortunately decided to follow the path of psychopathic bloodthirsty criminals-genociders like Bandera and Shukhevych. I see no hope for Ukrainians.

@Jakub Michalak-Palarz Song was written in XIX c. when there wasn't even Poland. And song itself was written by polish-ukrainian composer. This song is a beautiful example of polish-ukrainian unity in past and this friendship is worth to be cultivating
today :)
Polish-Rusyn/ruthenian.
