I understand full well the shortcomings of a monarchy, although a constitutional one seems alright. But what gets me is just how I think it's kinda a shame it ended. Like I understand why of course, but I personally kinda see a charm in the fact that you have the continued link with the middle ages through the monarchy. Like it lasted so long. I kinda see a charm in it. Obviously it's a heavily romanticised view, but still.
