To give you some advice. If he is the sole owner of the LLC, you can easily have a lawyer pierce the corporate veil. The courts see it as a persona of his more than a company if he is the sole owner / single member of the LLC. Your lawyer(s) can request all the information you need for this during the discovery phase (i.e. Corporate Formation papers, Articles of incorporation, Bank Account creation documents, etc...) You then would be able to go after him directly. In California, if he owns more than 75% of the company same rules apply.
Fr, if the company spent the money then there are records. You kinda can just register your own LLC.

For example if this channel is terminated it wouldn't be a surprise - they skirt the system and then use influence to stay afloat.

I am now over 50 and after 40 years of being robbed lied to and dealing with arseholes, i do have some advice. Firstly i do hope you get compensated and of course follow all due legal process. But in your heart and mind, let the money go. What others do to us is nothing to the pain we put ourselves through, holding a grudge is bad for the bearer bad for your physical and mental health. You've been through enough don't punish yourself more with hate and anger. Above all else please don't lose faith in people or lose your trust. I agree money can bring the worse out of people. Take it from me I am 34 and I've been scammed multiple times by different strategic scammers and the one that scammed me the most at least is 'in the name of love' and 'trust.' Now I give it to therm straight no matter what direction they come from it's better to spot them early then to be robbed later. Trsut is a huge commitment which is the reason I watch you guys I love your chemistry and that makes me happy and hopeful when everyone around me have stolen from me or even ignored my feelings I still exist and want to exist for what I am within, so stay strong for each other and love each other for not many have what you have. Even if you have to relocate you guys have each other and that's what counts. Live peacefully.

sadly dont work like that, as he is not liable for the company that has "gone bankrupt" but as he is the sole employee he can just take the money, say to bank "see we are bankrupt" and now the company will go down but he wont have any of the liability. Why? because of USAs capitalistic view of things. in both good and bad. The way it's done lets everyone try making it big without completely fucking them over long term but it also allows grifters like Dan and many others to exist.
NEVER, never, never ever trust anyone else with your livelyhood but yourself. Nobody is going to look after your interests like you will. Just take the time to do it. It's a hard lesson, but you've learned it. You guys are fun, entertaining and smart. You'll make it all back.

Building a business usually requires that you put some trust in others. "Dan" was basically an agent who would get them sponsorship deals - it's not unreasonable to do that business with someone and hope things work out.
The lesson is to listen to others when they say they've been burned by someone. I once spent a few weeks managing photographers for a club promotion business. A couple days after getting the job, I I was just hanging out in a bar and saw a promotion photographer. I asked if he worked for the guy I had just gotten a job with. He said no, and told me I shouldn't work for that guy. I asked why, he said the guy does bad business. I didn't listen to him, did 3 weeks of work, and got ghosted - never got paid. Most of us have to work one way or another, and if you're starting a business, you usually have to delegate, put some trust in your customers, and have some B2B relationships - but when someone says someone does bad business, it's often correct.
You guys are so awesome! Please don’t let these obstacles hinder you, what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger! You have the potential for greatness! So fun to watch!

I especially like how the corporation can take all the content you create, advertise on it, make money off of your work and labor then have the brass balls to tell you we're not going to pay you any money. Yes, I went through the same thing recently. Someone I thought was a good friend, an artist, had a history of not fulfilling their commissions but they always gave their community reasons for why they were not finishing their piece of art while also keeping the money and ejecting them from their community. I never believed we would ever have any problems between each other so I commissioned a large piece of art through them. Over a year later, they never did any work on my piece while continually taking on more commissions and completing them. Recently they ejected me from their community, no reason given, blocked me on everything and now I wont get my art piece done and I'm out over $650. If you happen across an artist that uses a purple moon bunny as their avatar, steer clear of them, they can't be trusted.
Never pay full price for a commission or a project. Pay in 3 installments. 1/3 at the beginning. 1/3 mid way through. And the last 1/3 after you get the finished work done and you inspected it. It applies to getting work done on your house by a contractor. Sucks it happened.

I’m dealing with a company that scammed me for around 50K then blamed COVID. They have been playing the bankruptcy game as well. Reach out to the sheriffs office, reach out to your local DA there are ways to go after people. Even if you don’t get your money back, we all need to work together to try to make crime not pay for these scammers. Good luck!

But I looked into your patreon. your lowest tier is 5 bucks. and it says currently you have 24,420 paid members that means you are getting minual of 122,100 a monthly. I understand some scammed you and that sucks. but please don't make this sound like you are hurting.
@@natehorton2717 I don't say this to be mean at all either, but with the Patreon/payment processor fees+cut, plus if they're paying any other staff (including the aforementioned scammer), plus any other expenses (depends how much they've been re-investing in channel content), plus monthly failed payments for "paid" subs (a big problem with Patreon content creators), and depending on where they are at for CoL (which is self-inflicted if you have the ability to choose where you live fairly easily, if I'm being entirely fair), that might not go as far as you would think. It also looks like those sub numbers are technically up ~30% over the past 6mo.
Also let's be real, if someone ripped off the equivalent of, let's say, 8-12% of a person's annual income, they'd probably be hurting too, especially if they were expecting it to be in the bank and spending/planning accordingly and it wasn't. Nobody loves a $5k surprise expense lol.
Heres some motivation: I lost my mom in january, i lived for her, she was literally my anchor that held me onto this world, and even before that im sure suffered from some form of anxiety and depression, rarely happy (i know this feels depressing). i was broken after her passing, she taught me how to be a parent, caring and kind.
Your videos have TRULY, and i mean it in the most honest way, helped me. i have probably watched every single one of your videos, or not to far from it about 2 times, some videos ive seen 3 times, ive even begun liking all of the videos ive watched to see if ive watched them or not. You guys have showed me how to be a real friend, how to have a real community that TRULY TRULY cares for you and love you. i dont like to many content creators on here, if i ever want to laugh, ill go to the other content creator cause i nearly always laugh to that guy, but if i ever want to smile, i always come here, you guys help me sleep, you guys truly calm me down. i was really worried when you didnt post for like a week, since i dont remember a message that you were taking a break or not. You guys have been through alot and im really sorry for that, and im sorry i cant support you more than with these words since i dont really have a stable income, or any income really. Hey, thanks for opening up about this stuff. These are the pitfalls that don't get talked about enough. Big corporations in control of your entire living and able to mute you without even a blink of a human eye is a terrifying thing. Sorry you're dealing with that. I am freelance and don't know when the next paycheck will come in, BUT, I will most certainly be jumping over to Patreon and signing up to support you there too. I wanted to leave some words of encouragement. Life will zero you out financially and emotionally as you ride through it, probably more than once, its about getting back up and carrying on regardless. Nothing that has happened in anyway diminishes the value that youve added to the world and are yet to add, you are both experienced and talented enough to get back on the ride and figure it out and use this hurdle to level up.

Seeing so many beloved content creators getting demonetized, leaving CZcams or switching to Patreon is quite sad to see.
I still feel as if CZcams is digging it's own grave with many of its decision in the recent years. As for now, pushing shorts and selected content is also very scary and I'm sure having a reasonable competitor to CZcams would go very hard. This is besides the point of getting scammed and more so in reference of me supporting more exclusive Patreon content.

Wow. Just, wow. I've been watching MXR Plays since you did MXR Kitchen. My first video I ever saw of you two was making your own burger haha. And I have watched all of your videos since then and can definitely say, you two have gone through so many struggles and difficulties with life, relationships, CZcams, your channel, exhaustion, and still you two keep pushing forward. I am sorry you're having to go through yet another terrible situation, but I am so proud of you two for continuing to push forward despite these difficult moments. You two are so inspirational and amazing and deserve so much more and you mean more than anyone realizes to most if not all of your fans. You have helped so many people even by just making them smile. Because, like you two today (or whenever you filmed this video), probably needed something to smile about. CZcams's been "treating him poorly" for years and years. At this point, it's kind of his own fault. He gets in trouble but keeps doing the thing that got him in trouble and refuses to leave the relationship.
It's hard to feel sorry for him when he seems to refuse to at least open a Rumble and/or Odysee account to have his content automatically mirrored. If he wants to keep his eggs in one basket, then he can suffer the consequences.
I’m really sorry this happened to you. You deserve better than this. You always make me smile and feel good. You spread laughter and joy all over the world. This is something I don’t take for granted. I hope that you recover from this. I’ve been burned myself before and it is not fun or fair. There’s a lesson to be learned here and I hope that it doesn’t make you bitter. There’s good people in business and on the planet, however you have to weed through the douche bags to find them. My experience from watching many YT content creators getting scammed is, never trust middle men to pass money on and never trust an MCN.
Its your money do the work yourself and get paid direct. Protect your assets as everyone will be tempted to take what you have.

Holy crap, that's rough, dude. And I know the pain, because the same has happened to my dad a few years back and a very large sun of money is just hanging in the air even till now. I genuinely hope everything works out, cause I seriously love you two and your channel. I don't generally watch a certain channel's videos, just watch things at random, but I've been watching all your videos for years now. I hope everything works out, and I know it's stupid to say this, but try not to stress out too much about it. When this happened to my dad, he was angry, stressed and everything to the point he nearly developed a brain tumor and had to get surgery, which the doctors said had a success rate of only 50/50. So I hope even if financials become an issue for a bit, at least your health won't be harmed. Stay safe, and I seriously hope that prick gets what he deserves

This is the problem with majority of people. Being good doesn't necessarily mean the world will be generous towards you. YOu can be both good and smart. If you're just good, but naive, trusting, then you get what you deserve.
THe quote really should be why bad things happen to people who are too trusting and do not do some due diligence. Henry was too trusting and ignored the red flags and advice of everyone who warned him. It still sucks. I was conned by a guy I thought was a friend.

I left someone today. Who had been manipulating me for the past 12 years, including financial abuse. It hurts, but nothing feels better than facing the issue head on. I know it isn't quite the same. But to me, I couldn't care less about the money. Moving on without the scammer in your case, cuts off their income. It will hurt them more than it will hurt you. I suggest, if asked, giving the company name. It isn't slander at that point, it's a review. I'd speak to that lawyer first though. I don't know if the laws are quite the same in America. Thank you both for being yourselves and helping someone who literally ended a similar thing going on with themselves. I feel like I can breath easier. I think it's seeing that others can experience stuff like this. I feel less weak. Seeing a couple who in my eyes are so strong. Thank you.
