I play professional and use the pro level pieces for gigs. Great source for easy to use backing tracks. Very few other music apps are great for both beginners and pros . This app was a game changer for getting music for my gigs. Just awesome

    Hey Christine,
I just want to say thank you.
Weeks ago, I found your channel and was absolutely obsessed with your journey. Not only the level of piano playing, but also the entertaining and relaxing side of your videos.
Now, our E-Piano for our family (of 5) arrived and I want to go on my own journey with it. To keep going and sharing the joy of my excitement, I just started my own channel. Without you, your joy and the message, that everyone can do this - this wouldn't have happened. So, thank you! So much!
My Videos are in german, cause... I am :D
I can only imagine, how wonderful it would be, if other german-speaking viewers get inspired.
I'm looking forward for your new skills and upcoming videos.

So glad I found this app, even in post-COVID. I can play whatever I want whenever I want. I'm a pianist but love playing chamber music. With Tomplay I can play Bach and Mozart sonatas, duets, continuo with an orchestra, etc. I've hooked up to Bose external speakers and the effect is good, if inconsistent.
My only complaint is that you cannot search the database without selecting an instrument. For example, a duet with saxophone will not show up on the piano page. You would have to go to saxophone then select with piano to browse any pieces. Of course, it's not the same as playing with a real musician, but you don't have all the "drama" that can come along with a person either.

I will definitely be using this app at some point for sight reading practice / quick studies as well as maybe making the most out of being able to play alongside an orchestra. The loop feature is extremely useful! Thanks for the demo, Christine :)

Do you happen to know whether, after your subscription ends, you get to keep all the scores you downloaded? I guess as you can print them it doesn't really matter but it would be useful to know.
I was very tempted by a special half price offer they had at Christmas, which sadly I didn't take up. Your review was excellent as it has more features than I realised and I am tempted again!

Christine Clark I recently discovered musicnotes. It’s a website/app for interactive sheet music. I think I figured out the main difference - tomplay has the backing track in all sorts of instruments. I haven’t played with either enough to really know

Hi Bill - I did a video on connection a keyboard to the device for perfect note recognition: czcams.com/video/30gfBm6Eqlw/video.html
Otherwise all the apps have troubles properly recognizing notes through the device microphone once the pieces get more complicated.

As a beginner, I hope I can move at a good pace. Do you have a Patreon account where people can donate to you?
In other news, I finally made up my mind on the piano model. After having demoed several, I went with the Casio Privia PX-S3000.

Mic is funny on the braid, but you'd feed the wire down your neck in the back and out the bottom of the shirt. Pinch a fold of the fabric to clip to. ;)

    • @christineesc
      @christineesc  Před 4 lety

Haha, yeah I realized after that I could have done it a bit better. The type of clip I have isn't great for pinching a fold of fabric, but I could have definitely used the down-the-back technique and attached it back there somewhere to keep it from pulling the braid up. :-D

I started playing piano as an adult and one of those you know non-credit community for fun classes. My brother had taken private lessons from the teacher when he was in Middle School in high school and he was also a music teacher in the high school. God really good foundation and started playing for about 20 years with a regular teacher
