Ive actually Been playing the keyboard for over 20yrs. Learned it by ear by myself. Now i want to learn piano the right way and read notes without just playing by ear. I’m using Simply Piano and honestly it can be frustrating bringing myself back to the beginning to learn it the right way but I’ll stick it out. If you say it works then I’ll see it through.

Excellent review. I have been 3 days on Simply Piano. Quite motivating for a 60YO with 10 years piano training 44 years previously. I agree - best (for my profile) is SP and then move to FK. I am squeezing as much as I can out of 7 days free trial. Then will decide if to keep with SP or move immediately to FK. I do like the motivation within SP. 10 years training at age 6-16... means that posture, tempo, finger action, key sensitivity is somewhat still innate to 60YO hands and fingers. my new NPK20 is quite a charm. Amazing that the sounds of the App play into the NPK and/or my headphones.

Great video Christine. I have been using PM for a few months and see straight away when you feel a bit like an "idiot" ;o) Personally I find the timing a little too strict as I am convinced I am only milliseconds out sometimes and it trashes me. But as the apps go It's my favorite so far. I am thinking of starting my own channel just to show my progress, joys, and frustrations with it and share the experience with others and you have inspired me. keep up the good work.

I'm not sure who invented cdefg to describe do re me and complicate the of every beginner. So Do is C not A, and A is La, why not D for Do and L for La? Or first letter in aphabet for Do the first in the musical scale?

Picking up piano after 20+ years, I have been enjoying simply piano a lot more so far. Much more fun and engaging.

Thanks for the video! I just got a Casio CT-S1 keyboard which after hours of research seems to be the best cheapest option for me. It’s as cheap as you can go and get sounds to be altered by how hard you hit the keys. It cost $300 with a Bluetooth midi adapter. I’ve been spending ton of research on the best app for learning how to read music. It’s between this or Piano Marvel. I just really like the music on this one better, but Piano Marvel seems like a better learning app. If I could stand the music I would go with it and it’s mostly classical and public domain songs. You can import songs on piano marvel so I might get it. For me tracking progress is a big must have. If playground sessions has that covered well then I’ll stick with it. Thanks again for this great video. There is just SO little on CZcams I can find. Your several videos have really been excellent.
