    The Molotov Cocktail got its name from this war, the Finns dubbed it after the Soviet foreign minister, Vjatsjeslav Molotov. I believe they used them to set the tanks engines on fire.

    • @The_GuyWhoNeverUploadsAnything
      @The_GuyWhoNeverUploadsAnything Před 3 lety +12

      Yes and it was named after the soviets bombed finnish cities while Molotov (foreign minister of the soviet union) was telling foreign powers that they are only dropping baskets of bread for the hungry citizens. We believed it's only fair to offer a drink since they offered the bread and thus named it the molotov cocktail.

      Preferred target was the tank air vent, then the burning liquid splashed down into the crew compartment and things got... unpleasant.

    As earlier pointed out, this song is about Talvisota, where Russia Tried to invade Finland. "Their blood turns to ice.." one Finnish company recorded temperature of-50°C with an alcohol based thermometer. Actually temperature could NOT have been so low, but meter was showing too low temperature, since Finnish engineers kept rivers from getting ice layer, so that Russians could not use the ice to cross rivers. So there was much 'extra moisture' in air.

    Drums are like the winter war for finnish soldiers. So outnumbered you get no rest especially when reserves run out and everything is at the frontline.
    I remeber hearing about one company that was the last one to retreat from the main line after it broke. It was like 11 men strong with cpl as company commander.

    I'll put the whole album on my workout playlist (when I get out of this Covid-crap!😷). If I can't go to the gym, I'll hang a punching bag in the garage (my husband will probably disagree with me on that one...😏)

    If you're interested in something very different from Sabaton, give Lovebites a go - power/trash metal with some ballads and some progressive moments... Japanese all-female band that rocks the socks off most bands of today and yesterday. Amazing band. Anything live except Bloodstock is superb, both musically and sound quality

    While Finnish didn't invent molotov coctails, Finnish did give them that name.. Molotov was a general in charge of attacking Finland, so we gave it a name molotov coctail against him.. but more interestingly, soviets were so unorganized that Finnish forced asked more ammo from soviets, and they sent it.. Those were called "Molotov breadbascets".. but ye, originally molotov's were used in spanish civil war but Finnish just gave them their name..

    Tbh some body probably all ready sayd this but... This songs music is awesome but for us fins the lyrics helds through. Many in Finland hates Ussr and Russia for What they have done to us. Thou we aren't shameless your selfish. We attack Russia afterwards to claim your beloved lands back and failed for some of us got greedy and wanted more then was ours.
