They always just hung up the phone without saying bye in old movies.
I’ve noticed they still do that! It must move the plot along!
They also slid out of the car on the passenger side. Bench seats made it possible, but I never understood why. Not once did I actually see anybody do that.
Love the old double boiler. My Ma had one in the 1960's.
It’s like a scavenger hunt trying to find the rest of the episodes, the shows ran half an hour for seasons 1-7 seasons after that were an hour long. Thanks for showing what you can! 😃 great television 💯
Thanks man. Beans are privileged.
luv how everyone just hangs up on everyone 🤣🤣🤣
I agree, thank you for pointing that out.
I wonder if this was/is a generational thing( per the time of these films) . I was adopted and my adoptive mother was in her late forties when she adopted me.
Whilst she would never hang up on me without saying goodbye, all of her friends would just hang up ( on me) when the conversation appeared to be over without saying goodbye...I always thought it was very abrupt and very rude…
GrandMum used to do that too. She said there’s nothing else to say. 😂🙏🏽
Hanging up on someone was very satisfying...way better than a click...try it, if you can find an old phone...
That used to be a regular thing in the movies. It seemed rude, but must have been how people interacted then.
@@kimjohnson1336 😍
He just hangs up the phone on the arsenic tester, also never paid anything for the test.....
I caught that too
Lol
So did they have private forensic labs like that back in the day? Just your local neighborhood scientist? We should bring that back!
😄👍🏻
For real
County Extension Office maybe? I dunno...
Yes, these days you would have to wait two weeks for the results.
@@lisalu910 I think that at the time, because the chemist could and would make all your medicine, (no ready made syrups,,or powders),they could also analyze dangerous preparations. At least, in Agatha Christie's novels, they did.
The great Beulah Bondi as the cook, played Ma Bailey in It's a Wonderful Life.
Thank you!!! I couldn't place her.
Good eye!
Good catch
Good tknow. Who played Mrs.Montgomery the poisoner?
Also was on a few episodes of the Waltons
Hitchcock is the master of suspense and a genius at mystery .
Everett Sloane..Beulah Bondi...fine actors.
Bondi was excellent on the Waltons. Especially the pony cart episode
For 10 minutes that was pretty suspenseful, short story, Alfred Hitchcock was the best film producer, and director back in his heyday.
You can watch the full 26 minute episode, and many more for free, on the Roku channel.✌
@@kenworthh9776 , thanks these mini episodes are not satisfying to me,
@@ydonnay3145 you're welcome. I hope you enjoy. ✌
@Isaac Magnus I'll have to check it out. Thanks, buddy ✌
@Xavier Lukas 🤔 you and isaac definitely got me interested. I'll definitely check it out ✌
I can't believe the same sink & sink cabinets r still in the apartments in buffalo & niagara falls NY..
I wonder why folks always having hot cocoa before bed...seems like it’d wake you up, instead of help you sleep, but idk🤔
Ethel’s cocoa is a blend designed for a permanent sleep that she’s enjoyed serving. This has an ending similar to the Cheney Vase.
The caffeine keeps me awake and the milk upsets my stomach. Much rather take some melatonin 😆😆🤣
🤷🏻♀️
I'd rather have an edible sour octopus gummi 🐙 They knock me out like crazy 🤪 and helps the pain, too
@@deby5983 Try Blue Diamond Almond milk. No lactose to upset your tum-tum 😋But how the heck do you milk an almond? 🤔
What a gift - thank you!
Dont we all wear a peignoir when we nap, ladies?
Why of course .lol
I certainly do!
Yes a peignoir is appropriate sleep wear after you have been screwed well by your handsome and virile, young boyfriend. 😂
That young Welbeck likes a nice peignoir on his lady friends.
Every time! 😁
Nothing Produced In Hollywood Today Compares To This Or 'The Twilight Zone' & Others.
Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul are the only shows I can think of that are comparable acting-wise/script wise, aside from the more contemporary risqué content.
This old kitchen takes me bake to my great grandmother and her old Victorian back in the early 60s. The house was built at the turn of the century on a hill in Weatherford Texas and stood until a school district purchased it for the land/location for a new school. What a mistake, in my opinion!
I love Victorian homes❤ they are so beautiful and have lots of stories to tell i bet
Weatherford is one of my favorite places, my good friend is buried at the Peaster Cemetery.
My dad was born in 1950 at the time im saying this im 12 we both really enjoy these clips and episodes thanks for making them!!!
Your Dad was almost 60 when he had you? Yikes.
@@adrenacrumb that is a horrible thing to say! You’re shaming a 12-year-old for his father’s age. You’re disrespectful and shameful!
12 yr Olds Dont play outside anymore?. What the heck
@@adrenacrumb I’m adopted
@@begrateful6153 Thanks for being nice about the subject except since my current father adopted me at such a young age I don’t really think of it that much
Remarkable how Hitchcock can tell a great story in 10 minutes! Hitchcock is/was a great movie maker. Though the full episode is not here, he still tells an intriguing story!
David Copperfield-not the magician
Thank goodness you’re not that magician perv.
@@EYE_GOTCHA Very true. Thus the clarification. I dont think David Copperfield is even his real name!
Dailymotion has tons of these FULL episodes!
I'm like what's up I remember 30 minutes
Thought I missed something.
Ed Miller if you read his comment fully he actually states that he knows it’s not the full episode.
His assistant is Lucy's Friend Carolyn Applebie.
Yep. I thought that was her. She is nosy in this too. Lol.
And she shades wardrobes in this too lmao@@ladennayoung2939
that's some thick hot cocoa.
You ain't lying. Looked like some freaking hot cake frosting.
I like this episodes , love their style. Very classy.
"Franklin !!"... pursued by a one armed bandit in Twilight Zone.
he fired the wrong person.
This was another good one. Hitchcock was a master storyteller by cinema and tv. Why do we only get to see parts of the stories? 🤔
For copyright reasons. Look for the full version. I always find them on CZcams.
I thought it was going to be her. That was a good one. It's sad, but it can and do happen.
Alfred Hitchcock used to say on television years ago Good Evening
Didn't see that coming. Excellent storytelling.
I did.
@@ladennayoung2939 So did I. Please, an old and not so good looking rich guy with a young and pretty wife? Did he actually believe that she married him for love?
These need to be longer
He says "Ethel" [edit: at 9:47 - 9:51] but the subtitles say "a**hole." well, given this storyline...LMAO
anyviolet What are you talking about???
@@KDL861 Sorry, I should have posted a time stamp. I assume you've watched the story so you know the surprise at the end. Turn on the subtitles, go to 9:47 where he says, "Ethel...Ethel..." and you'll see the subtitles say "asshole" the second time. I thought it was funny given the surprise.
anyviolet it’s good that you clarified! But honestly, I don’t read the sub titles. Sooo... I don’t care! 😂. It does hit me as funny, though!
anyviolet it’s funny cuz it says “esel...as*h*le” haha
😂
The great Everett Sloane. A great movie with him it is call Patterns, 1956 version and there are full length videos on YT still. Not the 2 analog TV versions of it, though they are good too but the full length movie around 123 minutes long. That one also has Van Heflin in it as well.
depth of field of these cameras is outstanding
Blimey!!! Things were twisted in those days..... Thank God for Facebook.......
That's the best 10 minutes of pure Hitchcock indulgence. Brilliant.👏
The ending was just what the Dr Ordered lol
A Classic ! :D
Yes, wasn't it good!?
I’ve been a big fan of Hitchcock since I was a kid 💕
Ann Jacobs join the club! We love him here in our house. But what true film foams are not??? His work is the template for all mystery/suspense directors and actors. Not to mention production companies!
I've been a big kid since watching these fun gems!
This actor was in The Fever-he played Franklin in twilight zone
Everett Sloan was in Orson Welles movies and had a very sad ending. Great actor.
Michelle Falco I loved that episode 😃💜😃
Oh yeah, when that slot machine was chasing after him!
I was about to type the same thing.
I was going to write the same thing! Franklin!!! Lol
I've seen all these Hitchcock!!!! I love how you keep people in suspense!!!!!
I want some cocoa...
The husband was in an episode of The Twilight Zone fever where he caught The Gambling Bug with the pokies
Back in the days when a chemist was anywhere and readily available.
Hitch is the best mystery writer/ director of all time. Audio is not well restored here. But, hey. It’s an old video. 🤷♀️
Hot cocoa always helps u sleep because of the warn milk and cocoa is very healing to your system and the milk very.soothing
Ahhhh fabulous.
Thanks !!
I love this one!
Isn't that blonde secretary(@3:30)Caroline Appleby (Delores Singleton) from I Love Lucy?
You can call me Ray or you can call me Jay but ya donts have to call me Johnson. I say bring back those pointy, Buick style headlight bras! Always good for a double take...
That was great!
Great twist
THANKS FOR THE UPLOAD!!! I 💘 IT!!!
Good one!
😘 thank you it was great.
Thank you
Good shows
Great idea using double boiler for cocoa. 👍
Love HITCHCOCK ❤️🎥❤️🎥❤️The master of..... SUSPENCE!!!
You said it! He is One of a Kind and nobody will be like him.
Good Evening Stephanie.
Stephanie Alexander, the Mistress of Misspelling.
The word is .........SUSPENSE.
Rest in Peace Alfred Hitchcock
I agree. He was the master of s-u-s-p-e-n-s-e.
Would anybody like a cup of cocoa.
Only if I run it through a lab first.
Johnny Pastrana 😂🤣😂
Yes if you put marshmallows in it😀

Just... WOWWWWWW!
Kookoo for Coco!

😮😮
The only thing is these aren't full episodes.
so many started here before TZ
This has the same plot as Suspense episode.
Hmmmm what an episode
Where is d complete episode
where is the rest of the video?
Is that "Mr. Ramsey" from the movie Patterns?
what is the climax??
COCOA WILL MAKE INSOMNIA WORSE
Yep, it sure does
Caroline Applebee!
A cup of coco for insomnia? Chocolate has caffeine
Not to mention all that sugar yikes!
A-hum..Hitchcock can still surprise me, he was The Master.
Trivia on Internet Movie Database mentioned Everett Sloane's appearance in this. Some thought it was just a bad makeup job, but, but I disagree. I've seen a bunch of his work from the mid-1950's (like Patterns) and he didn't have what looks like a significant suntan and such puffy (his right side especially) cheeks. An really prominent and wrinkled-looking eye bags... I heard he had plastic surgery at one point and was wondering if he had swelling from that, but I don't know what year he had the surgery. Tablet Magazine, an online source mentioned: "In the years following the filming of Citizen Kane, Sloane embarked on a series of plastic surgeries to reduce the size of his nose and thereby, he imagined, broaden the range of acting roles available to him."
Love the background score starting at 1:03
That's a (good) melody that's used often in the series and it's always a sign of foreboding.
It’s awesome! Reminiscent of simpler times
I know that double boiler......my Mom had one.
Good one ☝️
screw that cocoa!!!
Good 10 minutes.. Just enough! But, just don't drink the #Coco!!! 😇
So do not let anyone make your hot cocoa
I'd be willing to bet that you make a great cup of coco.🌹😉
Good one. Lol
"FRANKLIN"
Wow...didn't expect that one....creepy....
Subtitles on, 9:50 says "asshole" instead of Ethel haha.
I'm getting "esel". Whatever that is
Beulah Bondi could be a sinister looking old broad even when she was younger.
wow didn't see that coming.
Dag! So it's like that? The wife was slowly poisoning him! 🙄smh
Why do you think she declined the hot chocolate in the beginning? I had a feeling it was her.
@ladennayung2939 Exactly!! Hitchcock always gives you a shocker at the end! 😅
Hmmm, funny, everytime I come home loaded, my wife offers me cocoa to help sober me up. Tonight when I get home I'm gon n ah 💤💤💤💤💤💤💤
better check your life ins..hahaha
I think you better stop drinking for a while..huh
Some physical intimacy with her husband might cure that insomnia, also.
Have you seen him? It would more likely be a nightmare. It's no mystery why she got a lover her age, in her league.
OH WOW, WHAT HAPPENED TO THE REST OF IT.😕I LOVE THESE SHOWS, JUST WISH THEY WERE LONGER.
EAST WEST It’s on either Netflix or Hulu...the whole Hitchcock series. I forgot where I saw them over the summer.
@@christinafrison2170 They are also on the Roku channel , for free, too ✌
Cocoa anyone?
SNAP!!!!!
Marrying a young woman when you are so old... he had it coming.
Why didn’t he tell the police?
He had grown accustomed to her and he loved her. Imagine being in love with or married to someone for several years only to later learn that they are a killer...would you turn them in right away...it's easier said than done...the wife was poisoning him by the way.

He meant about the cook. 🙄
Even though the hot chocolate had arsenic in it. He couldn't really prove that she put it in there.
Yeah, I was wondering that too. He probably just felt paranoid, but it seems like he would have called them right after he was told that the hot cocoa had arsenic in it. Otherwise, I enjoy the story.
I can't watch peacocktv from Thailand :/
Oh dear me.
