Are u sure the laser needs to be replaced? Did you try cleaning the laser?

I am replacing again my laser, however this time the "new" one does not recognize discs at all. I did remove correctly (the laser turns bright red when closing the tray) the soldering points and all stuff but wether it has a cd in it or not it keeps saying "Open Tray" after a few secs. Not even trying to read the disc or popping the Unreadable disc error. Is there a way to know if laser came damaged from where i bought it? If not, what else could it be?

Are you sure the laser is good? I've had some where the "new" laser was completely dead and had to use another one.

😒👉💿 Very few people know about the LASER LENS CLEANER DVD that stores have with a tiny brush glued to the bottom of the DVD to make the cleaning possible . I'm glad I bought one for my '05 360 .

There's a anti static solder ball that bridges two connections that has to be removed for the laser to function.

Idk if I have the patience for this.. mine keeps saying disc unrecognizable. Do you think buying the whole lazer deck would be a little easier.

Technically yes. You would just have 4 screws to unscrew, put new deck in, connect ribbon cable and you're good to go!

@@Techbabblers the problem is when I turn on the Xbox 360 slim to start playing, in the game play it starts to controll itself. In that mode I try to controll it but it won't allow me to use all the buttons only for like 30 seconds it allows me to. Then it goes back to controlling itself. My remotes are brand new btw.

I, too, have that issue. It plays MUSIC CD's just fine, but playing games (all DVD-ROM's, I assume) and DVD movies does not work. I'm going to try cleaning the laser head first, as that's even cheaper, but perhaps replacing the laser assembly will end up doing the trick!

Ha ha you must change the dvd bord this is only compatibel wiht a mother bord

thats only if you replace the entire disc drive. he only changed out the laser.
