I think this movie and the first had villains that didn't realize that the Addams would've gladly welcomed them in and given them what they wanted, so instead they always resorted to crazy schemes that end up hurting them instead

The whole point of the Addams is that their powers are invincibility. So they didn’t even try to stop her, they only tried to get the brother to see them again. Debbie would have been a perfect Addams if she hadn’t wanted Fester dead and kept him away from his family.
No because she would have been so happy in the family if she really loved Uncle Fester! She was a bit... crazy... but the family accepted her! It's oddly sad to me ˙◠˙ But I adore this movie none the less!
It makes me sad, too. Their only initial complaint about her was that she was too colorful 😭 but they were more than willing to look past that if she'd truly wanted to be part of the family. She could have had the life she always dreamed of with them

While they cared about not seeing Fester, that was also forgivable (as Morticia said). Hell, they even agreed with her mentality and reasons for arson and murder. The one thing explicitly shown they didn't fully agree with was the pastels.
