    Best mod i have done to my bike so far. Once i figured out the springs (fixing it with a rod from the opporsite side while pushing through the pin ) it was pretty easy😊

    As above yes i was wondering if your pants or jeans would get court when putting the legs down i have heard a few people say they have but anyway one way to find out i guess.

    That spring... I used a pair of multi grips to squash the spring, the pin holding the footpeg in place, another screwdriver to push the spring down into place out of the multi grips jaws, with a spare screwdriver ready to insert in the bottom hole to hold and maneuver the spring once it got down far enough. Not exactly a smooth operation. Just over an hour to change a set of footpegs, with 62 donations to the swear jar. New pegs much better than stock.

      HAHA Morning mate.. sounds like not too far off my experience. High risk of losing an eye as well as a pound of flesh :)

    Looks really nice, but why didn’t they make them in black…. 😀

    Ah, I see what you mean about the pegs, they are small, so much so that you need to keep your foot tucked into the frame, which leads to the boot rubbing on the frame (hence the need for the frame protector). I had touring pegs on my previous ride, sure missing those now.

    • @RicardoYeep
      @RicardoYeep  Před 3 lety +1

      Yeah you got it!! Clever thinking on KTM to make extra cash 🤣 … either make money on frame protection or more on bigger foot pegs! 😳

      @@RicardoYeep I ordered the frame protector LOL. I am following your mods very closely, so thanks for the recommendations.

    • @RicardoYeep
      @RicardoYeep  Před 3 lety +1

      Morning mate! Yeah the frame protectors are not expensive at all and just clip on easily! Regardless of what foot pegs are on the bike I would recommend the frame protection as that area is a high wear area. And the frame is black any scuffing or wearing over time will show up. Maybe I am just over cautious 😂😂😂

    • @cpuuk
      @cpuuk Před 3 lety +1

      @@RicardoYeep My previous ride had frame protector in the same place, after 30K miles you could clearly see where the boot scuffs even with the touring pegs.

    Thank you for this video. I wanted to order rally footpegs but they don't write the size anywhere on website. So I couldn't know if they were good to replace. Untik your video. Thank you sir.

      Hiya Jefta no worries and pleased I was of help. Yeah for sure the stock pegs are joke! I mean you can’t believe it. The rally pegs are far better for comfort as well as stability. I’m only a size uk 7 and have no idea how the big lads with boots get there feet on these stock pegs 🤔.. anyway thanks for the message and keep safe! Ric

    Hey Ric. Do they have a different angle than the stock ones? I mean if they lean towards the brake and gear lever.

    • @RicardoYeep
      @RicardoYeep  Před 3 lety

      Hiya mate. No ! They are exactly the same fit just larger. 👍

  • @zxbob
    @zxbob Před 3 lety +1

    can they get in the way putting your foot down - ie: getting your jeans caught on them - just checked mine are 3" never thought about them being small

    • @RicardoYeep
      @RicardoYeep  Před 3 lety +1

      Nope never had a problem even as a short rider with very little leg to spare 😂 . I bloody hated the stock ones coming from a tiger XCA which came with rally foot pegs as standard. In my opinion bike feels more secure “under foot” for me anyway. I like or hope to get round to getting of the tarmac at some point. And standing on the stock pegs just doesn’t feel sure footed for me.
      I have I say if you are fine with the stock pegs then don’t worry about it. It’s one of those situations where they are ok for some and not for others. Even for a small bloke I am used to the rally pegs and going to the stock pegs seems amazingly small to me .
      But once you’ve gone big.. there’s no going back 😂🤣🤦‍♂️

    My 2022 SAS 1290 doesn’t have a cotter pin. Seems to be a lock ring or retaining ring. What did you use to remove the factory pegs? Did you reuse the same hardware or use new lock rings? Thanks!

    • @RicardoYeep
      @RicardoYeep  Před 2 lety +2

      Hello mate! You are correct there is a small circlip/retaining ring. Pops off easy with a couple of flat head screw drivers. Just don’t lose it! 😆
      Just use all the same bits if you get the pp pegs. Clip should be ok as long as you don’t over bend it off.
      Also careful when pulling the pin out. That spring is strong. Ideally you need correct spring plyers/tool when reinstalling. I used a few string cable ties to help compress it to allow me to position it easily when putting back… however this is a health hazard. Be very careful 👍

    Lorsque j ai essayé cette moto pour la première fois, je n ai pas compris pourquoi les reposes pieds étaient si courts ...
    Ce n est pas confortable du tout.
    J ai commandé les reposes pieds rallye au catalogue...
    Merci 👋😀

      HI Dominique
      Désolé pour le retard dans la réponse à votre message. Je ne l'avais pas vu parmi les autres. Merci de regarder la vidéo et de prendre le temps d'écrire un commentaire. Oui, je suis d'accord, les chevilles sont si petites que c'est fou ! !! La première chose que j'ai changée, je pense, c'est les chevilles pour les Rally Pegs :) C'est l'une des meilleures améliorations pour la moto !
      Prenez soin de vous et roulez en toute sécurité.

      Oui toutes les vidéos m'ont été très utiles.
      Ma moto n'aura pas autant de kilomètres.
      Je vais la chercher au mois de février ou au mois de mars et le voyage aura lieu au mois de mai..
