  • Learn how to roll to sit using the elbows and get up more easily from the floor. The secret to getting up and down on the floor in an effortless way, whatever your age, is learning how to transfer your weight rather than relying on muscles power. This lesson teaches you how to organise your movement to do this. It is based on AY 3 Rolling to sit with the elbows.

Very nice! It's really quite fun to do. For me coming up on my left side is smoother than on my right.

Thank you for your generosity sharing this lessons! Where I am living haven't got any Feldenkrais instructor, so I enjoyed it so much. By the way, where can I get a mat like yours? I loved it!!

Maria Costas thank you very much for your message, I appreciate you taking the time to comment. The mat comes from a German company. They do two sizes of the gymnasticmatte. In the video I am using two of the large mats. The company is: www.koeglvertrieb.de

Hi Beth, am not at home at the moment to double check but, from memory, it's based on AY 3.

Hallo Stewart, It was AY 233.
Your demo was a very good detailed intellectual analytical account of the movement from supine ly to sit. AY 233. Although what you were doing, to me was not The Feldenkrais Method until those few moments of baby roll and reversibility did more resemble the work. Nonetheless I REALLY liked it and watched it to the end.
I taught this lesson tonight in my class and I am going to share your video with my students. A wonderful opportunity for them to review how they moved what where.
Thank you for posting. Do more.
