    Wainwrights Coast to Coast - 2022
    =============================
    At the end of May 2022 I challenged myself to take on the Wainwrights Coast to Coast walk. This is a 192 mile walk starting on the West Coast at St.Bees travelling through the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and the North Yorkshire Moors to finally arrive in Robin Hoods Bay.
    I woke up in the hotel for the start of Day 6 with swollen knees. Both were really bad so had to strap them up as had a long day ahead. This would be a long stretch however compared to the last few days this would feel like a rest day.
    I set off alone with my head focused and spotted Mark, the Veteran who I'd met on Day 1, leaving Shap so we walked together. It was good company and chat and we pushed on together and kept my mind on the task as admittedly did miss Nicola and her company.
    The views were nice and the terrain was good to. Eventually I left Mark and pushed on myself and set myself targets of passing people I could see in the distance. In the end I arrived in Kirkby Stephen about 4pm and decided to stay there.
    Headed to a brilliant camp site and pitched there as Iain, aka the Yorkshire Trailblazer, was already pitched. Later Mark joined us and other guy too. The bar and food were great and we tucked into plenty of grub and had 6 pints. Perfect!
    Stay tuned for Day 6 tomorrow as all the videos will be released daily at 7pm for this series.

    Sunbiggin Farm - an oasis on the road to KS - still in Cumbria though until up at the Nine Standards Rigg. I always find that compression shorts mean you don't have to adjust the bag after taking a nature break!! LOL. Seeing how your knees suffered, and being heavier and considerably older, I feel pretty lucky that I had no issues with mine on the walk - mind you, my ankles and calves are just getting back to normal size and I can make a small bag from the dried blister skin!!

    Nice leg wax. I had to stop at Orton on this stretch because of the heatwave, gutted as it looked a nice steady 20 miles.
