    Wainwrights Coast to Coast - 2022
    =============================
    At the end of May 2022 I challenged myself to take on the Wainwrights Coast to Coast walk. This is a 192 mile walk starting on the West Coast at St.Bees travelling through the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and the North Yorkshire Moors to finally arrive in Robin Hoods Bay.
    I had a good nights sleep and was ready to tackle Day 6 which would be a tough day again made up of great views with the nine standards, a bog fest coming down from there and a long stretch through Keld and pushing on to Muker. My feet were aching by the end!
    Thanks for all the donations it’s really help with the motivational comments, the beers and used some of the funds for a much needed hotel on days 4 and has helped with beers and food. The comments are amazing and I read through them for motivation so thank you.
    Stay tuned for Day 7 tomorrow as all the videos will be released daily at 7pm for this series.
    If you would like to know more about the walk or have any questions with the route, the gear or anything else then please do drop a comment below and I will be sure to reply. If you can also like the video and subscribe this would really help my channel and you will be the first to see new videos.
    Thanks for taking the time to check out the video.
    Kris

      Aww brill glad you enjoyed it. I was hoping to do it again this May however I can’t now as been made redundant and need to use my time for finding new work. Do have a couple of shorter trails publishing at the moment I’ve just done. The Dales Way is releasing daily at the moment and in a couple of weeks will be sharing my solo Cumbria way too.

      @@pilgrimspassage8834 Yes I really enjoyed it. Managed to do it solo in 3 days but the last day had to do 51km which was rough going. Some great views on the walk though especially past coniston

    1:34 - in the background you can see a terraced hill section - when we passed there were sheep on the different terraced levels looking like musical notes. Red route looks wetter than the blue route (apart from one hidden channel that I never saw and disappeared up to my thigh in water). We saw many people traversing round by the road to miss the bogs. Keld to Reeth we took the high route although from your video the low route looks far prettier. Keep them videos coming

      Haha love it, although trying to work out how they looked like musical notes haha. Our route actually was probably really good too as it had been dry for weeks before so can’t imagine how bad it is in torrential rain. Must be awful. I heard someone else did the road too. Might be wise although can they really say they’ve completed the coast to coast haha?
      I’ve wild camped in Swaledale before so knew it was nice so stick with that. I’ve crossed the high route before on a hike and spotted it and it’s bleak up there isn’t it. I’d always do the low there.
      Thanks for the feedback. 11 days in total so almost there now.

      Haha yeah those two got wet feet, I managed to get through there dry. My feet went in a few times obviously but didn’t let any water in. Imagine doing that in bad weather 🫣. No thanks

    sweet kris what a day eh !! nine standards look insane don't they and them bogs were a nightmare 😂i wish that little cafe was open in Keld when i got there i had a dehydrated meal but managed to get a beer. not like you guys to steal anything especially a bench nice one catch you tomorrow atb daz

      The cafe was ace too. Although if you see one the video the amount of butter he gave me…would’ve been the end of me if I’d had all that.
      We had a right chill on that bench, shame the place was closed for lambing.

      It’s not bad is it. I hd the midges at Ennerdale water first day. I actually finished the walk at the start of June I have only just looked at and edited the footage though as I wasn’t going to put it out but eventually decided to just roll with it.
