    Wainwrights Coast to Coast - 2022
    =============================
    At the end of May 2022 I challenged myself to take on the Wainwrights Coast to Coast walk. This is a 192 mile walk starting on the West Coast at St.Bees travelling through the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and the North Yorkshire Moors to finally arrive in Robin Hoods Bay.
    I woke up on Day 8 and had a lovely cooked breakfast and a chat with a couple on their honeymoon and completing the coast to coast too...crazy! I took my time and left about 9am and headed out solo today.
    Long stretch to Ingleby today on what people say is one of the most boring parts of the route. In honesty there are some great views and its absolutely flat however it's long too and lots of road walking. My heels have been sore for days and sure I have some stress fractures so heels will be sore now right to the finish and have been since Shap.
    I bump into Mark, the Veteran, and walk with him for a while however he was struggling so eventually push on. I fall short of my detention by ¼ mile as feet are incredibly sore however turned out to be a blessing in disguise.
    After speaking with the attendant at the petrol station just before you cross over the famous dangerous fast road, they allowed us to pitch there! Flat ground, 24/7 shop and toilet and even a shower. Costa in the morning too...oh and free! I later found out that the owner is looking into creating a proper campsite there too in the future.
    Stay tuned for Day 9 tomorrow as all the videos will be released daily at 7pm for this series.
    If you would like to know more about the walk or have any questions with the route, the gear or anything else then please do drop a comment below and I will be sure to reply. If you can also like the video and subscribe this would really help my channel and you will be the first to see new videos.
    Thanks for taking the time to check out the video.

    That field where you are saying these cows are fine..... I got stampeded and had to jump over the fence! I grew up in the countryside and have never had a problem with cows or been worried about them in my life.... until that field 🤣

      Haha really? Yeah you have to be careful. If you stand your ground you’re fine as they’re more scared of you. But it’s easier said than done. I was chased once too but I’ll always stand my ground now

    When I need to be walking those long distances, or find myself climbing steep climbs, I find myself counting steps (2400 steps = 1 mile) - it takes your mind off what you are struggling with by focusing it elsewhere - it works for me!! lol

      I like that idea I’ll have to give that a try. It’s a good way of doing it I think as keep looking at your watch or not knowing how far you have to go is tough isn’t it

      Aah such a shame. It was a great spot there too as all the facilities, shower and costa! Oh…and free. Although you know me, I never end up paying anyway haha

      Oh that was the least of my problems as that was a hard day. The next day was even harder 🤣🤣. Just thinking about that day makes me question why I want to do it all again this year 🤪
