- Join us, Carol & Ken, as we take a trip to the New Forest in our Consort Nova Motorhome called Snoopy.
In this video, it’s not a good start to the day as we discover someone in a car last night had dumped their rubbish at the back of our van! After clearing up their mess, we head into Lymington for the Saturday market.
As the market starts to get busy we make our escape to the tranquility of Setley Pond to relax for the afternoon.
The following day we visit a favourite old haunt, Lyndhurst. We take a walk around the town to see what’s changed and enjoy a recipe sent in by a subscriber for lunch.

What we definitely like about your new camper snoopy is that it is made to be comfortable, to stretch and relax without moving around a lot of stuff, perfect for us people of a certain age, though we noticed it is a bit noisy while driving?
It is noisy although there is still quite a bit to track down.
Litter a scourge on.Britain, go abroad and its clean ,it starts with parenting ,manners,respect and decency

Driving on the motorway in Yorkshire. I was so disappointed at the amount of litter on the bankings of the roads. I've yet to see picking up litter as part of community service from the courts handed out.We do have thousands of people sat, around in hotels getting paid for doing nothing. They should be earning their keep at least.
They seem to have adopted a policy of just leave it these days. I agree we should be utilising the lower grade cons to do all sorts of community work. Maybe they do but I have not seen it for ages. Our neighbourhoods, street signs and paths should be pristine 👍

Yalking about doing things in town centre carparks. I once had a very close escape. As i lowered myself onto the old chemical loo with the bootjump. I accidentally knocked the tail gate opening switch and almost mooned everyone in Tesco Carpark!! 😂🐕🚙

I like Ken's approach at 28.00 mins - Passing on technical advice so that Carol can't blame Ken if there are any fine bones that might snag in her teeth as Ken wasn't responsible for mashing up the mackerel - nice one Ken!

The trash problem is even worse here in the U.S. Being a full-time RVr who often roadside camps, we're wrongly blamed for throwing trash outside too. Good for you for cleaning up the mess! 👍👌
Totally agree, wild campers get blamed for everything, including bad parking, spreading out further would help the image just as you did. Leave no trace !!!!

You just reminded me about car being broken into. It used to be a big problem and they would break in to steal the radio or CDs or any items left in the car. I also had a car stolen by joy riders in the 90s. It was so common in the UK but you don’t hear about it so much now. Thankfully it’s over 20 years since my car was last broken into. Thanks for sharing another interesting video.
It used to be such a problem in the New Forest we stopped going for a few years. When I was in the job the government made car crime a priority and we almost wiped it out. Other crimes began to grow so they dropped that.

Hi . Just a thought , we use a silicone mat on our cooker lid . Protects it and is also none slip , when cooker is in use we transfer it to our table. Also very easy to clean. Regards Vince and Dee.

I am now 70 but 63 years ago, England had a ´Litter Lout' campaign. A woman waiting for a bus was eating sweets and throwing the wrappers on the ground. So I told her off, called her a litter lout and she picked them up and put them in her pocket! I see not much has changed.
Not much has changed and I wonder what response you would get now!

We walked into Lymington last Saturday from our campsite, 6 miles round trip. We enjoyed the market, bought some lovely local cheese, a pair of garden secateurs from the tool stall, and a gorgeous apron, pan holder and a towel from a stall run by two wonderful ladies who hand make all of their productss. The fabric I chose is of vintage VW campervans 😀. We park at Boulders Bench, but have never walked up the hill to the trees, must do that next time. I noticed the cafe in Lyndhurst is dog friendly, so must remember that too for next time. We love the camping shop in Lyndhurst, we bought a beach umbrella there on our most recent trip two weeks ago for shade for Bateman, it works a treat. Well done re the litter picking, some people are disgusting and don't deserve to enjoy our beautiful countryside. We're always litter picking. Have a great week. ❤️🐾🚐 Xx

Having been brought up in the New Forest and your segment of Boltons Bench, brought back memories. Particularly where you sat at the bench, that very view down the slope….took me back to the Winter 62/63 with heavy snow. My dad made a wooden sledge and set me off on it down that very slope. Unfortunately he hadn’t taken into consideration the possibility (very likely) of me hitting a bump in the snow and the fact that he hadn’t built the slats lengthwise, but across! I can still feel that pain I got in the derriere region! 😳
We remember those snowy winters in the early sixties. Hope it wasn’t too painful for you reliving that memory 😆
Reminds of staying down there as a kid ina a camper..and unfortunately got kicked by a horse,,cos course I was feeding it ,and they are wild ponies .so the horse swung round and gave me a belter ,,in the leg and back..I was alright but had a big hoof mark on my thigh.i
Keep my distance after that ..although I have horses of my own now..but still wary of back legs..love ur videos thanks Carol n Ken.
Carol once had a horse step on her toes. Very painful and took ages to heal. You certainly need to treat them with respect.

Well. If I did not believe in coincidence before then I do now. I had to answer my door whilst watching your video. The man with a key was probably a forester..Got ponies, or donkeys or steers out on the Forest and so can have more access to go check on his stock..Wonderful seeing all my old haunts..I was brought up in the Forest and I miss it a lot..I recognised everywhere you went..I loved going down memory lane..👍 😀

The best one I heard was when the wife and I were in Portugal and it was said that motorhomes wild camping were the cause of all the rubbish but when you looked at the pictures that accompanied the write up it was tile's, sinks and house furniture, basically everything out of a house.

Really enjoying your New Forest series. I also make mackerel pate, but use my stick blender for the mackerel, makes a much smoother pate. Works well with smoked salmon too.

I like to hear when there is a driver that obeys the traffic laws. It seems like no one does that anymore. I'm almost 70 and I have my license since I was 16. I have never had an accident and have never received a ticket, not even a parking ticket. Driving carefully has served me well in my insurance. 😃

agree with you on picking up rubbish and leaving the place you are at spotless ,there are many people who are anti van and try to get parking spots removed to suit their own agenda ,but please use a litter picker rather than gloves as i noticed during my time as a postman people would dump their used syringes in post boxes and all sorts of places ,stay safe loving your vlogs

The new forest is glorious. It's been a while since we were last in Lyndhurst. You must go again after watching you both walk through the town.

We do have a lot of massive tourism up in the north of Norway, especially around the Lofoten Islands and then there due a limit to take traffic. There is people camping at private spaces doing their ones and two's there on private properties. At one point the roads are not made for the huge amounts of tourisms and their cars. Maybe the same as the road around the top of scotland in 1991 I drove that they now have renamed North Coast 500.
Sounds bad. The only way to deal with it is provide the supporting infrastructure. We have not bothered with the NC500. It becomes pointless when you constantly have to stop for other vans. Maybe we will do it in the winter. 👍

Considering you do drive a bit on the fast side , leaving the speed alarm on is a good idea
Just pointing out that It’s the illusion of the camera with the combination of frame rate, field of view, lack of depth perception, absence of peripheral vision, and video compression can contribute to the perception that a vehicle's video looks faster than what was experienced in real life.
Ali is right. The wide angle is deceptive and makes thing faster than reality. 😁👍

2 independent GPS trackers. A stout wheel lock, seat lock and CCTV. Last but not least if there is broken glass around you move on 👍

Fudge! If you ever go across to the Isle of Wight again I would highly recommend the Isle of Wight Fudge Company, a little shop in Yarmouth. Lovely fudge and really nice owners. But if you are there I would recommend the Wheatsheaf pub for food too! Sorry I seem to be getting as food orientated as Ken😂
