Sir, you just taught me something new and I am grateful to you. Some people think that couple of minutes instruction doesn't amount to anything, but it is not the time or what was about. It's the learning, more importantly, someone willingly to take the time out to share and teach you. What more can I ask from a stranger? Therefore, I am truly grateful. ✌
Thanks. But how do you adjust the power level and MAKE IT STAY at that level until further notice? Are you saying that the power level has to be adjusted each and every time you want to cook something at less than PL10?
It would be super duper cool to just be able to put the power setting that you want and keep it there!!!! Maybe an extra 50 cents per microwave to program it but it would be a great thing because I always like the power setting to be somewhere around seven or eight so the stuff doesn't get completely nuked
Anyone watching this or reading this, the information in the video is misleading, refer to your actual Samsung microwave model manual, but according to the official Samsung manual, below are the actual meaning of the numbers for power level. 1 = PL:10 (Warm) 2 = PL:20 (Low) 3 = PL:30 (Defrost) 4 = PL:40 (Medium Low) 5 = PL:50 (Medium) 6 = PL:60 (Simmer) 7 = PL:70 (Medium High) 8 = PL:80 (Reheat) 9 = PL:90 (Sauté) 0 = PL:Hi (High) If you are not using the cooking modes, just using a specific time, Samsung microwave's default level is HIGH, if you want to use a different percentage of power, refer to info above. Power HIGH (highest power) is actually 0, power 9 is 90% power, and power 1 (PL:10) is actually only using 10% of power. Beware.
What if your microwave is operating with seconds and minutes buttons and there are no numbers on the pad? Also when I hit the power button after choosing my desired time the display only shows _ no L10 ..
@@Wolfnrun Sometimes it's better to buy a normal microwave. Most of these advances are for chefs and people who put more time on cooking at the kitchen and foods that are boxes will have guide mentioning to put high most of the time which would PL10 1000watts.
We want more videos like this, especially how to preheat it. My microwave ovens model is "Whirpool MWO-638IX" please................................... help us. we want more videos..
If you know the wattage of your microwave (and you're cooking food that's mostly water by weight, which is most food), you can use this formula: (final temperature) = (initial temperature) + [(power level)(wattage)(time in seconds)] / [(mass of the food in grams)(4.184 J/gC)] _OR_ (change in temperature) = [(power level)(wattage)(time in seconds)] / [(mass of the food in grams)(4.184 J/gC)] _OR_ (time in seconds) = [(change in temperature)(mass of the food in grams)(4.184 J/gC)] / [(power level)(wattage)] So if you were cooking a 500 gram piece of food in a 1000 W microwave at 50% power, and you want the temperature to go from 4C to 34C, the calculation would look like this: (change in temperature) = 30C (30C) = [(power level)(wattage)(time in seconds)] / [(mass of the food in grams)(4.184 J/gC)] (30C) = [(0.5)(1000W)(time in seconds)] / [(500g)(4.184 J/gC)] (time in seconds) = [(30C)(500g)(4.184 J/gC)] / [(0.5)(1000W)] = [62,760 J] / [500W] = 126 seconds = 2 minutes 6 seconds
Anybody that doesn't understand this concept should def not be allowed to control a high voltage appliance at all. 💯 That machine produces 2000 volts of electricity which CAN KILL YOU! if not used with common sense it can be very dangerous. 🧐
This is the FAST power level setting system. Two button presses for any level. Some junk ovens have a system where first press gives you 100%, then you have to press the button multiple times to step down. In these, if you need 20 percent for example, you need to press NINE times, for 100, 90, 80, 70, 60, 50, 40, 30, and finally, 20. And, half the time, you end up pressing one too many times and have to go all the way around again. Before buying a microwave oven, confirm that it has the two press power setting system shown in the video before buying.
This feature is the worst. The fact that people have to watch video or read instruction to do simple output is ridiculous. Either the company has to put this instruction on the product or make this easier to use like any other product out there in the 21st centrum
The original design is not intuitive at all. The easy fix is to allow user setting power level either before or after setting time. If that was the case we wouldn’t even waste time searching for answers because anytime we press the power level button there will be a response.

This video was extremely helpful - felt so dumb for not knowing this beforehand 😅😂
Yeah! you are right... I couldn't use it for 2 years without knowing....
Saaaame.

Thank you, I really was confused.
I actually did it right but was uncertain. This video helped with my doubts 🤗
This was so very helpful, thank you very much my dude.
Thanks for the incredible video king- it's so good I sent this to my students.
Thank you for teaching what many haven’t !
Quick and simple video. Thanks!
Straight to the point and super clear. Thank you so much!
Finally, been trying to figure that out for years! Never had a new microwave so never had install manual.
Very easy to understand! Thank you!
Short and very helpful thanks!!
oh my gosh so helpful. I don't have a whirlpool but the power level process is the same for my RCA.
Very helpful! Thank you man
Very helpful...thanks! 👍
🤦... i never knew you could do that. Thankyou!
27 years and I just figure this out. Nice
Would the power.level remain.or would I have to set it each time
Thank you so much for posting.
WOW you are the greatest!!!!
Thank you for making this video.
I didn't realize it was that simple. Thank you.
186K views and only 508 likes. C'mon now y'all. We can do better than that. This is GOLD!! 👍🏾👍🏾
Easy to follow instructions, but does it Automatically go back to full power or do I have to reset it again?
Thanks for any advice..
Thanks, I was pretty sure I did it correctly but Im glad this video exists to make sure.
Thanks, I didn’t know how until now 😂
Thank you I finally learned at 30 years old 😅😅
Yea. That was so easy. Thk u.
Haha it's so simple but yet seems so hard to figure out! I thought I was going crazy bc I was thinking what the heck does the 10 mean?
Mine keeps going back up to 10 when I try to reuse it. So is it still at 5 or what's going on?
@@Wolfnrun good question. I assume it returns to 10 by default?
what are the exact settings of the quick touch?
Thank you so much!!
Thank you!!!
How does it cool?? Do u need to leave door open for a bit?
Thank you!
Thank you 🙏🏻
All this time I thought it was broken...
Me too lol. So hard to figure out
🤣 Right, the power of CZcams
Mine’s a little older model just has less buttons on it One being no (cook time button) I don’t know how to set it.
I get -5 or negative whatever number you use when trying to set power level
I get the same, does this mean if you press -6 it will cook at level 4?
@@c0L0mbiangat0 yep, thats how it works for me.

no L10 ..
How do you reset it to full power once you set it for half power
Could you explain how to drink water or open a door? I'm terrible at these
What is the option potato for? Is it for baking potatos?
Almost all of the special options on the front of the microwave just turn the power level down so the food heats more evenly.
Thanks so much
Thank you
So no more high, medium & low power?
Do you have to do this every time? Or can you change the default?
I don't know. Mine always changes and it's annoying

Thanks mines on p10 but it doesn't seem to heat up very well. Still feels cold
why dont they just have a button that says 50% power? or you can just use the defrost button for less power.
Great for not burning popcorn or over boiling ready mac and cheese i found. Especially with a 1200 watt microwave

Thanks i can now heat up my donno nuggies
That worked on my west bend microwave
If you have the air fryer / convention oven/ microwave combo instead of punching cooktime just press Microwave.
nice now i dont have to roast the fuck outta my food, does it reset back to 10 after each use or do i have to manually switch it back?
What level is 180 degree. I read that a lot in recipes. Any chart for that?
Do you still have your microwave Manuel?
@@EnchantedSmellyWolf Not really!
It's working but on my microwave the power isn't set permanently (until next chance)
Thanks
You are welcome!
Well, I had to refer to this because the use and care guide didn't explain it.
wish mine did that.
how to turn powrr on
So how to set temperatures in it
If you know the wattage of your microwave (and you're cooking food that's mostly water by weight, which is most food), you can use this formula:
(final temperature) = (initial temperature) + [(power level)(wattage)(time in seconds)] / [(mass of the food in grams)(4.184 J/gC)]
_OR_
(change in temperature) = [(power level)(wattage)(time in seconds)] / [(mass of the food in grams)(4.184 J/gC)]
_OR_
(time in seconds) = [(change in temperature)(mass of the food in grams)(4.184 J/gC)] / [(power level)(wattage)]
So if you were cooking a 500 gram piece of food in a 1000 W microwave at 50% power, and you want the temperature to go from 4C to 34C, the calculation would look like this:
(change in temperature) = 30C
(30C) = [(power level)(wattage)(time in seconds)] / [(mass of the food in grams)(4.184 J/gC)]
(30C) = [(0.5)(1000W)(time in seconds)] / [(500g)(4.184 J/gC)]
(time in seconds) = [(30C)(500g)(4.184 J/gC)] / [(0.5)(1000W)] = [62,760 J] / [500W] = 126 seconds = 2 minutes 6 seconds
My Panasonic it does not have a key pad and does not operate like this one does
Mine keeps going back to 10!
“End” will appear on the display and open the microwave door to take out food and compare to remove the seat belt in the car and put the gear into P
What if I use a fork in there
thank you baby
Why does mine say -5
Turns out PL 10 on my microwave means 10%, not 100%. Don't make my mistake
My microwave won’t let me change it… I’ve tried this many times and other things.
Can it go above 100% 😭
